In the distance you could see a pirate ship coming straight for them. "Get below deck!" Asher yelled at Julli, "No way! I can help!" "No, you can't, just get below deck and stay there!" Asher grabbed his sword and prepared for battle. Julli kept thinking, "I can help! I survived on an island all these years. I can help..." a bow and arrow caught her attention, she quickly grabbed it, and went to the crow's nest where she could get a better view. The breeze was nice and cool, the smell of the salt water was refreshing, but when the other ship hit theirs, those fairytale monsters started attacking. Julli looked around frantically, then she took aim, and shot one of the creatures' swords out of their hand. Alana looked up and gave Julli a "Thank you" look, then she stabbed the creature in the chest. Everyone else started pairing up, then eventually they didn't need Julli's help any more. She climbed down and started to head below deck, then all of a sudden she was grabbed and had a knife against her neck.
The battle stopped, silence spread, all Julli saw was worried faces. The creatures took advantage and started to grab the crew and tie them up. Then a voice shot out, "Stop!"... "Excuse me?" the creature holding Julli said, in a deep, rusty voice. "You heard me." Asher said, showing himself, "Aw, captain. A pleasure as always." "Let them go Buck." Asher was getting angry, "And why would i do that? It's no fun without a little... wager..." Buck said with a smirk, "How about this, I'll let the girl that i'm about to kill, go and... all i need from you is uh... duel." Julli shook her head and whispered, "Don't do it." with a worried look, then Buck's grip tightened. Asher took a deep breath and said, "Fine. But what's in it for you?" Buck smiled with pleasure, "I am so glad you asked! All I need is for you to be my prisoner." "How is that hardly fair!" Asher shouted, then Julli spoke up, "What if-" "Who told you, you could speak!" Buck said, spitting on her. Julli whipped the spit off her face, then took another shot at it, "Well... Well what if you took Asher... and me..." "But?" Buck asked, waiting for her to keep going, "But... you let everyone else go." Buck took it into consideration, then said, "Fine with me! I have big plans for both of you..." Buck released Julli, and was "kind" enough to let Asher have a minute to talk to her.
"You can't do this Julli." Asher said with a stern voice, "I have to Ash. It's better than knowing the whole crew is in his dirty hands." "But-" Julli cut him off and held his face, "Please..." Asher put his hand on hers and nodded, Julli continued, "Just... be careful." Asher pulled her to his chest, kissed her on top of her head, and whispered, "I cant promise you anything... but I'll fight to stay alive for you."
Julli was grabbed and had the knife back on her throat. Asher and Buck grabbed their swords and took their places. When the duel began, everyone was on the edge of their seats, but with Julli... she was holding back her tears trying to stay positive. Each of them had good form and were both making each other run out of breath. Then one of Buck's crew members stuck their foot out and made Asher fall. Asher surrendered but Buck did not end the duel. right as Buck had his sword ready to go through Asher's body, you could see all the emotions Asher was feeling in that moment. Then... Buck struck him. He struck him right in the leg, and said, "You're lucky I spared you." with a glance, then left him lying there... passed out... In pain. Asher's crew was speechless...
"NO!" Julli yelled, with all the tears coming out at once. The creature holding her let her go. She ran to Asher's side and held him in her arms, bawling, and whispered, "I-I'm so s-sorry... you can't l-leave me... you-you promised..." Soon, Julli was hit in the face by Buck, and passed out. Julli and Asher were taken back to Buck's ship, leaving the rest of Asher's crew behind... and just like that... they were gone...
