To Find: Season 1 (I Was Never There Tape)

Story Tape #33

The tape begins with the song (I Was Never There, By The Weeknd ) playing in the background. I slowly woke up from being unconscious, I felt well and dizzy as I looked around the environment. Fog hovering over the ground as I was on the ground, looking to my left and my right to see Shadow-Walkers standing beside me with their uncanny facial structure. I looked at them with terror in my eyes, looking in front of me to see Soren chained up against the wall. I weakly called out to him.

"S-Soren… Are you okay?"

Soren was unresponsive. I started to tear up a bit, sniffling as I can't believe this is happening. No God, not this song. Please… I hear footsteps echoing within the dark plane of existence, looking to my right to see D.E.F.E.A.T walking down as I started to get scared; looking away from him in fear.

"Isn't this such a gift from your God? Both of you, here, I… Wow, this is an honor." 

D.E.F.E.A.T walked up to me, turning my face so that we were looking at each other face to face; removing my duck mask and lowering my face mask to expose my face. My face is covered with dried up blood and messy tear marks.

"Do you know how much of a pain in the ass you are? I mean, honestly. I have a bounty on your fucking head and none of these useless fucks GOT YOU!!" 

D.E.F.E.A.T loud voice causes the plane of existence to shake violently, the Shadow-Walkers and I all looked at D.E.F.E.A.T as he calmed himself down. 

"No matter, I have both of you so in the end it all played in my favor."

I stared at him, silent as D.E.F.E.A.T got annoyed. 

"What? You're not going to say anything?"

Just stayed silent. D.E.F.E.A.T grows frustrated as he walks over to Just, grabbing him by his shoulder as he drags Just on the ground walking towards Soren as Just panted and struggled.

"I can literally kill both you and Soren! But no! I want you to suffer! Shadows, pin him against the floor!"

The Shadow-Walkers obeyed his command, two of them placing their foot on Just back to keep him down on the ground as he grunted a bit. He watches D.E.F.E.A.T standing in front of Soren, Just yelling at him.

"No!! Don't you fucking touch him!! Please!"

D.E.F.E.A.T looked back at Just with a grin on his face.

"There we go, that's what I like to hear. Speaking of what I like to hear, do you hear that music? That sweet, sweet music."

Just looked at D.E.F.E.A.T, tearing up as he shook his head begging.

"Don't do this to Soren, please. Don't do it D.E.F.E.A.T!"

D.E.F.E.A.T smacked Soren across his face as he winced in pain, squeezing both of his cheeks with his thumb and index finger showing his busted up bloody lips.

"You remember this song, don't you Soren? When what's her name… Ah, Bunny, isn't it? She did something very dirty to you, I can't help but laugh when I think about it. What did she do to you?"

Soren weakly shook his head, not wanting to say anything.

"I-I'm not telling you… "

D.E.F.E.A.T smirked at Soren then looked back at Just, showing them his fingers that had a smoky fiery mist that flowed between his fingers.

"I'm going to count five and if you don't tell us what happened with Bunny, I will find out myself. 1…"

Just looked at Soren then at D.E.F.E.A.T, panicking a bit.

"H-Hey… Hey!! Why do you need to count? Stop counting!!"

D.E.F.E.A.T continues to count as the smoke between his fingers starts to swirl a bit faster.

"2…" 

Soren nodded his head at D.E.F.E.A.T, closing his eyes as he whispered.

"Just do it… Get it over with…"

Just shook his head no, begging D.E.F.E.A.T not to touch Soren. Struggling underneath the Shadow-Walkers, screaming out in fear.

"No!! NO!! DON'T TOUCH HIM! SOREN! SOREN LOOK AT ME, LOOK AT ME!!"

D.E.F.E.A.T looked back at Just and started to laugh at him maniacally, his head jittering as the camera started to glitch. Just coward in fear, covering his ears with his hands, yelling out loud as D.E.F.E.A.T continued to count.

"3… 

…

….

...

5!"

Just yelled out in fear as calls out to Soren, time slowing down as D.E.F.E.A.T placed a finger on Soren's forehead; a smoky dark red mixed with orange shockwave is created, blasting everybody as the camera falls down on the ground. Everything went black, the music stopped.

Soren spoke quietly, sounding as if he was trying to contain his tears.

"That was her name… Sabrinna."

The screen shows a picture of Sabrinna and Soren, TTS with a female voice portraying as Sabrinna while a male voice portrays as Soren. A screenshot captured on an iPhone SE 2020 shows the 2 conversations, taken on June 27, 2022 at 11:59 AM. The date of the actual conversation has been lost. The female voice spoke.

"Sabrinna has been sent to the hospital and is in a coma, we hope that you wish her luck with us. We are sending this to all people on her phone and social media, thank you."

The male voice spoke.

"What the fuck are you serious? What happened?"

The female voice spoke.

"Her sister said that she was on a plane to go visit her dad, and the engines failed and crashed into the water, luckily there was a few boats near by that called 911 and got her out safely before she drowned, I believe she said when they hit the water she hit her head on the metal and passed out. That is all I know."

The male voice spoke.

"Who am I speaking with? Cuz that sounds insane, it's hard to believe. Is it on the news?"

The female voice spoke.

"Idk, you're speaking to her stepsister."

The male voice spoke.

"Shit, okay. Um. Please look after her and update me on her condition. Cuz I'm just stressed out right now."

The female voice spoke.

"Ofc, I'm gonna be waiting for the doctor to tell me how long she is in a coma for, everyone is texting asking if she is ok."

The male voice spoke.

"Do you remember uhh the airline she was in or no?"

The female voice spoke.

"No, sorry"

The male voice spoke.

"Okay that's fine, take care.

The female voice spoke. 

"You too."

End of conversation. The next day Soren reached out to Sabrinna. The male voice spoke.

"Any update?"

The female voice spoke.

"Yeah she is gonna be in a coma for around 9 to 10 months. She hit her head hard and mixed with her condition made it longer."

The male voice spoke.

"9-10 months. What the fuck."

The female voice spoke.

"The way she was freaking out made her heart race and she passed out. She hit her head on the window right when the plane crashed into the water and almost killed her. That's what the doc said."

The male voice spoke.

"Holy shit. Do you know what airline she took before heading to Florida? I know there's only 2 airports I believe." 

Soren's voice can be heard in the darkness.

"She… Was heading to Florida to see her Dad, she was living in Puerto Rico at the time."

The female voice spoke.

"No I don't know. Why?"

The male voice spoke. A carnival-like music starts to play as laughter can be heard in the background.

"Just been looking into it. Like, it's hard for me to believe even though I want to. Shit happening like that is crazy. It's hard to believe."

The female voice spoke.

"Well I'm sorry if you don't believe me but this really happened. I've got to go."

The laughter grows louder and louder.

"Can I at least see her? Please."

Soren was blocked that same day, small font words can be seen underneath the message. Read Yesterday. It stayed like that even after Soren texted her multiple times. He was blocked. The screen goes black, the music cuts off. A screenshot of Sabrinna Discord Profile with her username REDACTED is shown. Her status icon is yellow which means 'away.' her status message says.

"My bestie and your bestie, sitting by the fire!-"

Playing A Game. SteamVR for 2 hours. Sabrinna blocked Soren's number, blocked him on Snapchat and on Discord. She was still active after the "plane incident." Soren can be heard crying, the camera showing him on his knees chained up as he cries uncontrollably.

"We were good to each other… I didn't do her wrong, she didn't do me wrong when we were together. So what happened? What made her leave me? I was there for her when her brother died. Did she even have a brother, did he even die? No… she showed me her brother's room, but… But maybe he wasn't home … maybe… What did I do? What did I do?"

The screen goes black as the sound of Soren crying slowly fades away. Only hearing the sound of the tape playing.

The music resumed again after the shockwave blew them away, only leaving D.E.F.E.A.T to stand planted on the ground as he began to laugh. Soren's head was tilted back, his entire body turning black leaving his bright white eyes being shown as he was silent. Soren lost himself. 

"When it's time, when it's time, when it's time. It won't matter, it won't matter."

Just regained his vision from being blown away, laying on his back as lean against his elbows seeing Soren hopeless as his appearance changes. Just began to sob as he shook his head reaching his hand out to Soren from afar. 

"No… Soren no no no…. FUUUCK!!!"

The atmosphere changed as everything was bloodied and red. The tape showed rapid imagery of Soren holding a knife, shaking his head aggressively with tears flowing down his face screaming out. A brief image of Soren on his knees in the bathroom, candles lit up as he looked down at a bathtub filled with water. The song continues to play.

"Now I know what love is."

Images of Soren being with his ex-partners laughing, but mainly invaded with bad memories of tears and heartbreak. 

"And I know it ain't you for sure."

Images of Soren's past lovers are shown on the screen, slowly fading from one woman to the other. 

"You'd rather something toxic. So I poison myself again, again 'til I feel nothing in my soul."

Images of Soren taking edibles, smoking and drinking bottles of alcohol flashes on the screen. Poisoning himself to escape from his reality, laying on his bed looking worthless while on some occasions using the poisons to seek pleasure in VRChat. NSFW images of Soren ERPing with different avatars as Just began to cry as he covered his face. His leather gloves were drenched in tears as he shook his head, banging his fists on the floorless space. 

"NOOOO!!! D.E.F.E.A.T STOP IT!!! STOPPPP!!!!"

D.E.F.E.A.T spreads his arms out as he slowly raises them up, laughing maniacally from Soren's downfall as he has finally lost himself. D.E.F.E.A.T has won.

"I'm on the edge of something breakin', I feel my mind slowly fadin'. If I keep goin', I won't make it."

Images of Soren crying and throwing himself on the floor, looking at his own hands from the things he's done to destroy himself. Sitting down on the floor, leaning against the bed as he cries out loud in the darkness of his room. Calling for help.

"And it's all because of you."

The tape shows Soren looking at himself in the mirror, blaming himself as he hit himself on the side of his head with his fists multiple times. The song continues to repeat that verse as it shows Soren putting his head inside the bathtub water, the sound of a loud screeching can be heard. Then, he took his head out of the water as he looked up at the bathroom ceiling. He spoke as his voice echoed.

"Who am I?"

The song continues to play in the background, hearing the instrumental as D.E.F.E.A.T spoke to Soren.

"Fall into the abyss and stay in there, forever."

He stepped away from Soren, looking at his Shadow-Walker. 

"Take Soren away… I have a very nice cell to put Just in, he will stay there until further notice."

D.E.F.E.A.T said as he slowly turned to look at Just, walking up to him slowly as Just breathing was shaky.

"Just… Look around, there's no way out of this. You will die as well, just like Soren. No soul will be reborn, it's just you, Just. You ARE the reborn soul. The ONLY soul."

Just watches the Shadow-Walkers taking Soren's body away, his lips quivering as he looks down defeated. Struggling to come up with anything to say at this point. D.E.F.E.A.T placed his hand on Just shoulder, lightly patting it sinisterly.

"Oh Just, you don't have to say anything. Shadows… Get him on his knees."

Two of the Shadow-Walkers grabbed me by the arms, standing me up on my knees as my heart was beating fast. What's going to happen to me? Did I really fail God? I feel like I've lost, that I failed my test on this journey that you have laid down for me to achieve. I ended up failing… As Just battles with his thoughts D.E.F.E.A.T lifted Just chin up.

"I've been wanting this for a while… Stay right there."

Just started to cry as he looked at both of the Shadow-Walkers, saying no as he begged for his life. D.E.F.E.A.T stood in front of Just as he got into a stance, both of them yelling at the same time. D.E.F.E.A.T delivers a powerful kick across Just face, ending the tape immediately.
