Training With Midoriya!

It's been one week since the villain scene. And currently, it is Saturday. Eijiro and Midoriya were standing by the beach, both in shorts and shirts.

"It's time to train!" Eijiro grinned, dropping his bag of stuff. He had made a full recovery in the last few days, no longer needing a cast.

"Hai!" Midoriya yelled, thrilled.

"First, we're going to solve your one-for-all problem, and the good thing is I came prepared!"

"To solve it, we've seen what happens. I can't; I'm just not able to use all this power," he said, looking at his palm.

"Exactly!" Eiji nodded, pulling out a lightbulb and battery connected by a wire.

"Eh? That's going to help me?" He asked, getting down on his knees.

"Yep," Eiji smiled, sitting on the sand, "because Midoriya, this lightbulb and battery are you!"

"EH!?"

"Don't scream so much," Eiji said, shutting his ears. "Metaphorically speaking, let's break down your quirk together, alright?"

"First of all, one for all is a built-up collection of power passed down through generations and now in my hands."

"Uh-huh, but when you call this power, it is too much and hurts your body," Eiji said, switching on the power.

Both watched the lightbulb burn with light before exploding, saying, "And that is you."

'I still don't get it. Midoriya hummed for a moment before Eiji sighed and handed him the battery, connecting it to another lightbulb.

"Midoriya, turn the lightbulb on, but not too much to make it explode."

'Okay? If this is me, then,' he thought, looking down at the battery set at 100% power; besides it was a small label for 5% for lightbulbs and more for different equipment.

He did just that and switched on, saying, "I did it. I still don't get why?"

"Now stitch it off."

Believing in Eijiro, he did just that and switched it off.

"Now imagine the moment you see it's not exploding. It's warm because you used enough power for the light bulb to turn on. I want you to imagine that bulb as your body and the battery as one for all."

'Imagine me as the lightbulb. Hm... At 100%, it exploded because it was too much to bear. All I did was lower the energy. It was then that a lightbulb lit up! He realised it!

"This lightbulb is me!" He jumped up, kicking the sand.

"Finally! I brought three light bulbs just in case," Eiji grinned.

"Where did you get three specific lightbulbs from?"

"Our basement. We haven't used it lately, so I figured it'd be fine."

...

[Kirishima household]

"Dododoo I'm going down with my valuable Starfighter figures signed by the creator, Dodo Doo." Rio sang while flipping the light switch and stepping down.

-Bam! -Tumble

"Oh, shit fuck crap, mother!"

-Thud!

"Cough, oof, at least my figures didn't break; now just carefully stand up and-"

-Crack!

"...*Inhale* FAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-"

...

[Back at the beach]

"It should be fine. I knew I was onto something, so we should test it out, don't you think?" He grinned and stood up. "But start small with 1% of power, and slowly build it up."

"Mn!" Midoriya grinned and clutched his fists.

-Crack!

Eiji slammed his fists, going bulletproof, and watched as light surged around Midoriya.

'Just a little is the smallest portion my body can hold!' Red marks crossed his body, and he stood up and said, 'One for all, 1% Power!'

Eiji whistled, watching him power up. "So you think you can move?"

"Yeah," he said, clenching his fists.

"Good cause we're going to spar, now get ready!" He roared, launching his fist.

Midoriya was too slow and got sent back into the sand.

"Oh shit. Oh?"

He got back up, reactivating it once and for all, and charged. He reeled back, 'Smash!' and punched Eiji in the centre.

It struck, making him take a step back. "Not bad," he patted his shirt, "but not good enough!"

He countered with a sidekick to the stomach, sending Midoriya back again, and as expected, the hero stood back up, charging head-first with a punch.

Eiji booked it going for a back kick, and Midoriya could barely avoid countering with a punch, but when it landed.

-Bam!

Eiji barely moved, immediately countering with his fist to his face.

'He should learn how to fight properly,' Eiji thought, seeing Midoriya fall out of the fight once and for all.

"Try to kick it up a notch by 2 per cent."

Just as Midoriya gasped, falling to the sand, "My body hurts," he shivered, "but it's okay."

"Well, we should take a break then, and I can use this time to teach you how to throw a proper punch."

"I can punch."

"No, what you're doing is moving your fists. It's not even a straight punch; here, get up and follow me."

Midoriya dusted himself, mirroring Eijiro's motion and swinging back and forth, saying, "Maybe I should learn some martial art?"

"It's up to you; my suggestion is that karate is good, though that's my opinion." The two got into a light conversation about hero things, support items, quirks, and more.

"Thank you, Eijiro. I appreciate your help." Midoriya smiled at the waves.

"Yeah, of course, I need to make sure the number 2 spot is in powerful hands after all."

"Number 2?"

"What you didn't think was that just because you gained one for all, it meant you'd be number 1, right? Pft, hahaha, I'm also aiming for that spot to become a hero who can protect everyone. If I have to be number 1, then I will!"

"Oh, well, watch out for me because I'm also going to be number 1!"

"Hey, that's the spirit! Hehe, do you think you're good for another spar?"

Un, I think I might go to 2 per cent!" He gleamed and stood up.

"Good, because I'm done holding back." Eiji flashed a toothy grin before getting up.

"Eh?" Midoriya froze for a moment, his heart racing.

...

This was three days ago when he removed the cast from his arm. One of the first things he did was take the X-ray pad he got and harden his muscles and bones.

It was a given that when he thought against Nomu, he was stronger than before, but completely hardening his muscles would've made him unable to move.

But with what he discovered, he immediately updated his manual.

[Manly Quirk Manual]

Harden The power to harden and sharpen the skin and parts of the body, causing the flesh to become jagged and rock-like with each hit. Its strength and durability increase.

Effects: strength and speed; sharpening; hand blades; claws Hardening hair. Resistant to most physical trauma, burns, electrocution, and acid.

Flex hardening: Semi-Hardening the muscle and bone to improve strength, endurance, and speed can apply to any of the three levels of hardening.

Level 1: Bulletproof: a full-body harden strong enough to take bullets and minor explosions head-on. Limit: 4 hours straight. [Just keep training!]

Level 2: Chivalrous Knight! Further improved hardening in specific areas, leaving gaps like knight's armour. Greater durability and strength. Limit: 30 minutes [Goal: 1 hour]

Level 3 of the Red Rift is unbreakable. [Current goal]

...

'Level 2 hardening and Flex hardening,' Eiji grunted, his body screeching like metal. His body was getting stronger than before. Every area of his body is hardening a step further. The muscle and bone beneath his shell as well.

He didn't have to worry about his internal organs. They were also hardened passively, not like his muscles and bones, but enough for him not to worry about them after surviving Nomu's attacks.

'I already practised; I can apply Flex hardening on level 1 no problem; what I need to do is master and hold it to level 2.'

Midoriya took a step back. He wasn't sure why, but he felt like this would not be easy.

"Are you ready?" Eiji's hardened teeth formed into a smile.

Midoriya gave a shaky smile, lightning dancing around him. "One for all, 2% power!" he shouted, hyping himself up. His body felt ablaze, but he could handle it!

"Smash!" He charged, punching Eiji in the face!

-BAM!

The sand exploded around them. His fist shook. He did not push Eijiro back! "My turn." He said this, reeling his fist back and, with everything, smashing it against Midoriya's stomach.

He went flying back instantly. A much larger explosion of air and sand kicked off, akin to a minor explosion, as Midoriya flew back a considerable distance, tumbling across the sand.

"Cough! Cough! You didn't hold back," he said, failing to get up, his face dirty and covered in sand.

'Hmm, I wonder how strong I am like this. Just level 1 on its own, and I punch through concrete walls easily. How big is the power increase with Flex Harden: 3? 5? times that, maybe 10?'

He wondered if getting out of his hardened state—just using Flex Harden, no one would tell I've changed—could be useful for getting an upper hand.' Eiji thought, giving Midoriya a hand up.

"So I think we should stop for today," he said, cleaning the sand off him.

"No, I can still go on," he said weakly, clutching his stomach.

"How about no? We did some groundbreaking things. Didn't you think about that?"

"That right! Thank you, Eijiro! Without you, I wouldn't have done this. I can slowly train and become accustomed to using one at its maximum! How can I repay you?"

"What are friends for? You don't have to. Besides, we're training together. I also get something out of it."

"Yeah, but it feels like I gained more out of this than you," he mumbled. Friend's right, he's my friend! Like Ochako and Iida!'

"But I still want to make it up to you!"

Seeing the resilience in his eyes, he sighed, "Mn, fine. Okay, tell me about you and Bakugo over some snacks. There is a small place near here. I'm kind of curious considering he's all like, I'm going to kill you, Deku!"

"I can do that." Midoriya smiled. The two bumped fists and went ahead into the city. Midoriya opened up about his past with Bakugo and heard that Eiji's view of him had warped slightly, now realising the toxicity that exists between the two.

He tried to give him some advice about not backing down and being a man, but the most important thing is that Bakugo needs to change and apologise, which he can't see happening soon.

But it also made him realise his powerful spirit and his ability to keep aspiring to be a hero despite everything thrown at him. It was very manly.

"I see..."

"Yeah, but I'm okay, really. I have a question for you, Kirishima. what was it like awakening your quirk for the first time?" The green boy asked with a thrill in his voice.

The two talked about many things, from heroes to movies and more, before calling it a day and returning home.

'Tomorrow I'm dancing with Mina; that should be fun,' he sighed, tucking himself in bed.

I didn't realise we were entering season 2 so soon lol. Anyways I hope you enjoyed this chapter if so leave a comment or review to let me know and see you next time!
