Chapter 4: I'll Be Good.

CHAPTER 4: I'LL BE GOOD.

Chin Sun sat on the plank stairs outside while dipping a stick into the rain water. She looked so worried and bad at the same time. How can she be this selfish?, she's only worried about what her friends would think about her if her mother becomes a maid and how life wouldn't be the same anymore without her.

At the same time she was worried about her mother's life. She's going to be working in the same place where so many maids have been sentenced to death without a proper judgement. She really feels so bad for acting as an obstacle to her mother's way but she can't help it.

"Chin Sun", Chin Ari called from behind, walked up to her and and sat beside her. She placed the soup she was holding on her lap and held it carefully so it won't splash out. "You don't have to feel bad, I get your point sweetie, it's normal"

Chin Sun looked like she wanted to cry as she said.."I'm a bad and selfish child, I don't want mother to go but I'm stuck between two selfish reasons and I'm finding it difficult to know which one exactly is my distress"

Chin Ari smiled when she heard that. "It's common to all children of your age and also don't ever call yourself a bad and selfish child", Chin Ari said seriously and Chin Sun smiled

"I'll be good then"

Chin Ari was happy, she finally got Chin Sun into agreeing but who would change her mind?.

"That's good, tomorrow is the start of a new week so I think she'll be going very early tomorrow ", Chin Ari said.

"Oh! I think I should follow mother, I'll accompany her", Chin Sun said excitedly.

Chin Ari sighed. "Children are not allowed into the palace and also, if you should follow mother there, who is going to bring you back home?", She immidiately cut off the girl's exciting idea before it turned into disappointment.

Chin Sun was really tired of living this life. All what she knew was that life wasn't as hard as this before the death of their father. Although she could hardly recognize him. She was still young when the tragedy struck them.

"I wonder how it feels to be a to be a royal, I really want to be royal oneday too!", Chin Sun said frustratedly and Chin Ari smiled before offering her her plate of soup.

"Drink up, mother really used so much energy in cooking this. Don't waste it", with her words, Chin Sun drank it all and returned the plate back to the tray. "Thank you"

At the palace, there was a meeting being held amongst the seven Generals, Princes and Emperor based on the current attack on their empire, the Eastern region.If they don't take fast approaches, bit by bit, their empire will start to crumble and completely get controlled by their enemies.

"I think it would be much better if we send more forces to join our men there, our enemies are well armed, we can't predict their next move", General Kiang said and the other generals nodded in agreement.

Predicting an enemies next move isn't something that is easy, most especially when the enemy they are talking about are the Kongs, who on earth can predict those sly people's move?.

Their attack can be on the Eastern Region and their focus would be on the Northern Region, but just to keep their enemies focus divided they'll be attacking another side. That's how sly they can be.

Lately there has been a very huge loss of life....Children and adults are being killed without mercy by those people and they are loosing so many men too.

"The troops we sent to the Eastern region as back up last week are now fighting for their lives on their death bed, many of them are dead and now, it's clearly predictable we'll be inquiring a huge loss of monetary sources as well", General Kwan said, immidiately he landed his point, General Cheong backed him up.

"General Kwan is correct!, our main source of money is the Eastern region and its being attacked. The more our men dies the more our expenses increases cause we'll also have to compensate to their families", General Cheong said.

While everyone were frowning, Prince Kim Kyong was the only one admiring their enemies. They really planned their attack well. Right from the point of targeting their Empire's weak point to killing their men and increasing their expenses and the country loss.

"It's not compulsory we give all their families compensation and even the ones we give, it won't be a full compensation. I suggest we only give compensation to those families that their sons have high ranks and for the others, we'll only give them ten percent of the original compensation, that's the only way we can save our Empire", General Lee said but General Kwan countered him immidiately.

There was no way such senseless words would be uttered in his presence and it won't go uncountered.

"It is against the law of the Empire!, no matter the state of the Empire, such things are not to be tampered with, General Lee!", General Kwan said, unhappy with General Lee's sense of thinking.

"You are only after the down fall of this empire General Kwan. That's the only way we can keep this Empire's capital from breaking down financially, we also have other expenses to bear and we can't give more that we can afford", General Lee faced him

He won't back down for Kwan, and he came all prepared since the old hag always have something to say to counter him on every meeting held.

Emperor Kim Hyun, seeing that the main focus was already getting drifted by the two generals he ordered the two not to say a word anymore till the meeting ended.

"General Kiang is right, we need more capable forces to back our men up and not the amateurs we are sending over there as back up", General Cheong said. "There's no point keeping our treasures if at the end of the day they'll end up being useless, it's better we use them now that they are useful"

He was simply implying that the princes should hand over their men, since they had the two top armies under them, the Shadow Armies and the Golden Armies.

Emperor Kim Hyun faced his first son, Prince Kim Kyong who haven't uttered a word of suggestion or worry since the meeting began, he had an uninterested look on his face.

Prince Kim Hyeon noticed his father's gaze on his twin brother and could already guess what his father was thinking. Once again his father wants to hand over this opportunity to his twin brother and he won't let that happen.

It's about time he proves himself as a worthy contestant of the throne, he also has equal access to the throne, after all, they are twins.
