Chapter 3: DRAMATIC SISTERS

Chin Bada was busy cooking in the kitchen, it's been a while since she sent Chin Ari on an errand to get some spices. The girl isn't back yet and the food is almost done.

"Ari!, Ari!", Chin Bada called loudly, so loud it could damage one's eardrum. Chin Sun who was outside covered her ear and yelled.

"Mother!, you're so noisy, big sister is back already, she's all drained in the rain!", Chin Sun said and ran up to meet her sister. "Hurry!, Mother is shouting again and I'm afraid she'll be mad at you again"

Chin Ari didn't pay attention to what the young teenager was saying instead she scolded her lightly. "Why did you dip your legs into the rain water, you could have just stayed there at least I'll pass by your side, now you're all drenched, what if you catch a cold?!"

Chin Sun slammed her palm in her forehead. "Oh sister, you know it skipped my mind, I didn't mean to get you so worried about me again. Let's go in, once we get in, I'll make a fire and sit beside it so I won't catch a cold"

The thirteen year old girl in front of her looked so cute as she talked non stop. "Ah!, You always make me regret scolding you, let's go in if we want to have breakfast this morning"

Chin Bada was relieved when she saw Chin Ari but her expression changed when she saw the girl's drenched pink outfit.

"Not only did you return late, you got drenched as well, the rain only drizzled for a while and you are this wet, were you playing in the rain?", Chin Bada asked worriedly as she collected the spices form her.

She mixed the ingredients together and tasted it. "We would have missed out on all this if you were just a minute late", she looked satisfied with what she was cooking.

After she closed the pot she faced Chin Sun.

"Darling, go and make a fire so your sister can get warm", she said and threw the fire pebbles to Chin Sun. The girl has great catching skill so she was able to catch it swiftly.

She left the kitchen to make the fire while Chin Bada faced Chin Ari with a knowing look. "Must you always play in the rain and get yourself drenched then add more to my expenses?", She scolded the girl lightly.

Chin Ari ran to her and gave her a tight hug. "I love you mother, don't get angry at me. I won't go it again, I promise", she said pitifully so Chin Bada would forgive her.

"Ah, okay, you know I can't stay angry at you for a long time, don't get me wet as well", with that she disengaged the hug and Chin Ari left to change her clothes.

After breakfast was ready the little family of three dined together. Chin Bada thought it was a perfect opportunity to raise a topic so she started.

"I'll be going to the main palace tomorrow to work as a maid", Chin Bada dropped the bomb shell.

Chin Sun choke on her food and started to cough hard, Chin Ari on the other hand didn't know how to react to the news so she just offered her little sister water to drink and patted her back gently so she would calm down.

She was a child after all, the fact that her mother wanted to become a maid at the Empire's main palace is shocking and choking.

"Why?", Chin Ari asked seriously.

Why the main palace of all places?, working there won't be easy, they don't just employ anyone, why can't she just work for one of the nobles around them!

"That's where I can earn enough money to make us live a better life Ari baby. Look at other children, they have better things than you two and I don't like it that way, I also want to be able to provide for you too, I want to be able to meet your needs and wants", Chin Bada replied.

Chin Ari felt bad while Chin Sun already had blood shot red eyes due to the sudden cough. Both stared at their mother looking pained before saying together. "We are not complaining"

Chin Bada admired the two of them greatly, they really really are cute together. She smiled and said. "You don't need to complain before I know what my children wants, as a mother and a father I am to give you want I think you need before you even ask"

Chin Ari didn't know what else to say to this mother of hers anymore but it looked like Chin Sun had a lot to say with the way she was puffing her cheeks in annoyance.

"I have enough clothes already and I'm not starving, what's there to provide!, What's the point of enjoying when you are not with us anymore we won't be able to see you frequently anymore!, I don't want you to go!", She said almost yelling.

Chin Ari looked at the furious girl sitting beside her, she didn't know what to say but now she gets her mother's point of view. "Chin Sun, you have me here with you and also understand mother's point of view okay?, She's doing this not only for herself but for us, all of us together as a family"

Though she said this, she didn't feel it came from the depth of her heart. All she said was just for saying sake, nothing else apart from that.

"Yes, Chin Sun, listen to your sister, as a matter of fact, I'll only go during the week and come back weekends, we'll still have time to be together so be a good girl"

"I don't want to be a good girl!, I won't listen to you anymore mother!, What would I tell my friends now, that my mother is a maid and she's working under the rumored psycho prince?", Chin Sun dropped her wooden carved spoon and left the table angrily.

Chin Ari and Chin Bada watched the girl leave angrily before turning to face each other.

"Mother I also don't agree to this, I only said those words to reassure Chin Sun", Chin Ari looked upset as well.

"Oh please, you guys don't have to be this dramatic", Chin Bada complained when Chin Ari left the dining table with Chin Sun's soup.
