Chapter 22 - D..D..Don't!

"Mr. Tulok, Please demonstrate your power for the Ladies and gentlemen to see."

Tulok stepped forward honestly without much concern; he closed his eyes and started concentrating with a frown.

Everyone forced on him with a look

of anticipation, wondering what his power would be.

1 second.

2 seconds.

3 seconds.

10 seconds.

Just when the onlookers thought that nothing was gonna happen, a change occurred.

"Wow!"

"His skin changed colors!!"

"He really does have superpowers!!"

Exclamation and gasps sounded again

from the crowd.

The reason for their exclamation has to do with Tulok Skin color changing from Yellowish-brown to a dark shade of gray.

Then the gray skin gained a hint of metallic luster, making Tulok appear as if he is a living sculpture, making the chattering among the crowd louder.

Then his nails also changed into metallic gray while his hair became a little bit darker.

Previously, when Captain Gill showed his power, although it was above the Ordinary human limit, it didn't change the exterior, or more like it didn't have the superpower 'appearance' that everybody would imagine when thinking about it.

Tulok on the other hand, with his body seemingly made of iron, satisfied this criterion.

Captain Jones approached Tulok and continued explaining.

"Mr. Tulok's superpower unable him to gain metallic-like property, hardening his body exterior. Excuse me Mr. Tulok."

As he said that, he knocked on Tulok's arm with moderate strength.

*ding* *dun*

When the hit landed, Tulok's skin was barely pushed inward and the sound produced was a mixture between hitting metal and the muffled sound when hitting flesh.

Tulok flinched a little when his arm got hit but did not seem to feel much pain.

"His skin provided him with increased defense. However, we are not sure to what magnitude this increase goes, and whether his superpower can strengthen him internally or is it just the exterior of his body."

The Colonel stepped forward to look more closely.

"Excuse me Mr. Tulok."

Said the Colonel then started pinching and pulling all over Tulok's exposed skin, his arms, face, ears, and even his hair, causing Tulok to shudder.

Tulok, more than once, wanted to smack the Colonel away. I am an honest man, that does not mean you can take advantage of me like that!

Thankfully, the Colonel finished his inspection just before Tulok could not stand it anymore.

"Really amazing!"

Said the colonel while thinking about how he should report the current situation.

Seeing the Colonel stepping back, the medical team wanted to step forward and take a turn.

*inhale* *exhale*

Just at that moment, Tulok's body started returning to normal while he appeared exhausted as if he just finished a workout and his breathing seemed to be a little bit labored.

"Oh! What happened?"

"Why did you return to normal?"

"We have to examine you to make sure everything is okay."

Like taking a toy from your child in the supermarket, some of the medical team staff started whining and complaining.

"No *inhale* *exhale* More, *inhale* I'm *exhale* Tired."

Tulok waved his hands and denied.

"Gentlemen, this supper power seems to take a toll on Mr. Tulok, he has already activated it three times since gaining it. Please Give him some breath, there is some time for you to examine him later."

Captain Jones on the side stood in front of Tulok and said seriously.

"It seems this power is not free of charge. Go and grab some nutrition solution for Mr. Tulok."

Dr. Nelson ordered one of his staff after he saw how exhausted Tulok was.

Suddenly, the people remembered the second person with superpower accompanying Captain Jones. Collectively turning their gaze toward the woman, making her shudder.

She retreated a step backward with a scared face Thinking of how the Colonel examined Tulok.

Then she pulled a pepper spray out of her pocket, holding it like a gun, and pointed at the people left and right while screaming like a frightened chicken.

"D..D..Don't get near me and don't touch me! Or I will spray you all! I put habanero extract in it!"

*hiss*

Hearing that she put habanero extract in her pepper spray, the previously eager people were the ones to get frightened this time.

"L. Lady, please calm down!"

"Nobody will touch you! Just don't use that spray!"

If the lady retreated one step, then the medical staff retreated 3 steps.

Colonel Stedman felt that he was fortunate that the first one to demonstrate was Tulok.

Seeing as there is nobody coming near her anymore, the lady relaxed a little bit and lowered the pepper spray in her hands. However, she did not put it away, still holding it in one hand ready to shoot at any moment.

Captain Jones raised his hands as if he is surrendering and walked a step toward her while saying,

"Ms. Johana, Please relax! I will not let anyone touch you."

Familiar with Captain Jones, she decided to trust him a little and then nodded at him.

*sigh*

You could see people sighing in relief as the lady calmed down. Captain Jones lowered his hanged hands, then gestured with one hand.

"Ms. Johana Please demonstrate your superpower for the Ladies and gentlemen."

Even though she would like not to demonstrate a shit in front of these people, reason told her it is best to cooperate while they are still talking politely. Heh, who hadn't watched what they do with people like her in the movies.

Johana wanted to grab something on the nearby table. However, looking at the people on her way, she didn't dare to go near anymore.

Fortunately, she remembered the pepper spray in her hands and decided to use it instead.

Johana began focusing on the pepper spray in her hand, not paying any more attention to the shining eyes looking at her.

After two to three seconds, the pepper spray started moving slowly in her hands.

"Wow"

"Could it be?"

The exclamation beside Johana disturbed her concentration, causing the pepper spray to stop moving.

Looking up, she glared at the people around her like an angry chili, her eyes almost spitting fire. Can't you see me working here?

Thinking of the spray in her hand, the crowd ended up quickly shutting their mouth.

Glaring one more time at them, She then continued to focus on the spray bottle, making it move then levitate on her hand.

Then the bottle started moving in the air toward the people trying to look closer.

"Real Telekinesis!"

"D*mn, that's super cool."

"Do you think we could awaken like them?"

The chattering returned, not caring about the threat of the pepper spray anymore.

"As you have guessed, Ms. Johana 'Awakened' the psychic power Telekinesis. She…"

*thump*

Before Captain Jones could finish his introduction, the pepper spray had fallen to the floor while Johana was holding her head, frowning then shaking it a little.

"She Showed different symptoms upon 'Awakening', her head veins were pulsating while she fainted, and it took her 132 seconds to 'awaken'."

Then not caring about the jealous eyes of the people around, Captain Jones reported another news,

"They aren't the only ones in the base camp to 'awaken'."

"How many more?"

The colonel asked.

"There are about 12 people so far, including Mr. Tulok and Ms. Johana."

Colonel Stedman nodded as if he expected this news.

"That would be 13 people so far."

Captain Gill said while pointing at himself, causing Captain Jones to be surprised for a second then returned to normal and nodded his head toward the former. He then looked at The Colonel and Asked,

"Colonel, what are your orders on this matter?"

The colonel thought for a minute then ordered.

"TAKE THEM TO THE RANCH!"
