CHAPTER 17: DO YOU LIKE HIM?
We went together to the ice cream stall , I checked out the ice cream, there was so many flavours of ice cream,I wanted to ask whether there was any sugar free ice cream since I am diabetic but ahaan was with me, I didn't want him to know about it
"kya huwa, select karo itni saari ice creams hai ", ahaan said
" wo i don't know whether this is sugar free or not " I Murmured slowly but ahaan heard it
"sugar free ,are you diabetic " he asked looking at me
I nodded my head and his expression changed to a pity one as if he was feeling sorry for me i hated this, I hated when people see me differently
"what's with that face " , I said
"I am sorry I didn't mean to, I mean i am just shocked ", he said
" it's okay", I said
Ahaan went towards the ice cream stall , probably checking for sugar free ice cream
"bhaisaab ismai se sugar free ice konsi hai? " ahaan said
"sugar free ice cream udhar rahi, aapko udhar harr flavour mil jaayega sir", the stall guy replied
" chalo udhar chalte hai", ahaan said
That stall was at little distance
"tum ice cream nahi khaaoge" I asked
"hum ice cream hi khaane jaane rahe ", he replied with a smile
" wo sugar free hai ", I replied
" I prefer sugar free ", ahaan said
I stopped walking I didn't know why was he doing all this, hume mile huwe sirf 2 din huwe hai, and he was doing so many things for me, he was literally making me feel so special, I didn't understand whether his motive was to make me happy or he is genuinely caring, I was anxious about all things which was happening between us, I never experienced this before , he becomes mad when he sees me with rudra , he suddenly becomes caring, sometimes he is too nice , sometimes he is too rude
" kya huwa ruk kyu gayi chalo" ahaan said
"tum mere liye ye sab kyun kar rahe ho ", I asked
he looked at me, after staring at me for a minute he came towards me, he took few steps closer, my heart beat like always increased, don't know why this happens to me every time he takes a step forward my legs automatically moves backward and my heart beat increases , ahaan came closer , not too close
" maine abhi tak kuch kiya nahi hai " , he replied, and moved back and smirked
I couldn't help but look nervously down
"chale ", he said
I started walking fast and he followed me
" konsi flavor? " ahaan asked
"vanilla", I replied
" really?, that's so plain ", he replied
" I have no choice " I replied, he nodded understanding
" Bhai do vanilla ice cream " he said
" you could have got it from there " I said
He took the ice cream from the stall guy and handed it to me , " I prefer this " he replied
We both got our ice creams and we started eating in silence, when he slowly asked " can i ask you something " he said
I knew he was going to ask about the disease, I just nodded my head
" you are diabetic, from when ? " he asked
"bachpan se ", I replied feeling a bit hesitant to talk about it
I got to know that i am diabetic when I was 15 , my family used to give me sugar free things when I was a kid even though I used to cry a lot for sweets , most of the time i used to eat without they knowledge and used to get unwell , I take insulin too, when I was 15 I got to know I am suffering from a life time illness
He didn't say anything, we both sat down on a chair, opposite to each other and ate silently but his gaze was on me, he was literally looking at me from the time we sat, till I finished eating, my heart beat kept increasing and I couldn't help but look here and there
ahaan stood up and came closer to me, I got numb, he was so close to my face, his hand moved towards my face, he took the hair strand from my face and put it behind my ear , I didn't know when I closed my eyes, when I open it he was sitting on his place
'you are so beautiful " ahaan said
I felt like I can't breathe any more, I blinked my eyes twice before getting up from the chair and walking away quickly inside the room and shut the door quickly
"kya huwa kiske bhaagte huwe aa rahi hai ? " priya said making me almost choke, I didn't realize Priya anita and neetu were already in my room
I silently went and sat on the bed
"Ahaan se bhaagte huwe aa rhi haina? " priya said my eyes widened in shock
"nahi tho tujhe kisne kahan ", I replied
" madam humne sab dekha jo dining table pe huwa " , neetu said
"kya huaa, kuch bhi bakwas mat kar ", I said
" really, naina tujhe kya lagta hai sab andhe hai idhar ki koi notice nahi kar raha ki tum dono ki bich kya chal raha hai " , anita said
"anita Tu bhi inn dono ki baaton mai aa gayi, ye dono kuch bhi bakwas kar rahi hai ", I said
" we saw he held your hand, priya saw you both hugging after the engagement ceremony" , neetu said making me almost choke on my water
"wo mai, wo meri blouse ki dori khul gayi thi tho he was helping I said
aur jo dining table pe ho raha tha wo kya tha ? " priya asked
"seats nahi thi tho he asked me to sit ", I said
" Naina, do you like him? " anita asked as she came towards me and sat beside me
"nahi, Tu ye kyu puch rahi hai? " I asked nervously , I didn't know how to react because even if some one takes his name my heart beat increases
" isiliye puchh rahi hoon ki hum sab notice kar rahe te, the way you both look at each other, the way he gets close to you and you are trying to even hide things from us , don't you? " anita said
my eyes widened because it was true I didn't say anything to them but it wasn't true that i was trying to hide anything from them, I myself didn't know what was happening with me
"aisa kuch nahi hai ", I replied
" you both are attracted to each other, the way he looks at you, it's quite clear, and you aren't that naina we know, Tu pehle tho itni soft nahi thi? ", priya said
" I am being nice because he is jija ji's friend ", that's it ", I replied and went towards the cupboard to change into night wear , and they all kept quite
