Chapter 3

As Harry stirred from his sleep in the quiet confines of Winterfell, he was roused by a gentle yet insistent knock at his door. Rubbing the sleep from his eyes, he rose from his bed and made his way to the door, wondering what could warrant such an early summons.

Opening the door, Harry found himself face to face with a servant, their expression neutral but determined. "Lord Stark is expecting you to join him and his family for breakfast," the servant informed him, their voice soft yet firm. "It would be best not to keep them waiting."

Harry nodded in understanding, gratitude flickering in his eyes for the polite reminder. "Thank you," he replied, his voice warm with appreciation. "I'll be there shortly."

With a quick glance around to ensure privacy, Harry retreated back into his quarters and approached his trunk with purpose. Opening one of the special compartments, he retrieved a small vial containing a clear, shimmering liquid.

This was no ordinary vial of water. It was enchanted with a cleansing charm, allowing Harry to take a quick shower even in the absence of running water. With a flick of his wand, he activated the charm, and the liquid inside began to froth and bubble, releasing a refreshing mist into the air.

Stepping back, Harry stripped off his clothes and stepped into the mist, feeling the warm droplets cascade over his skin. It was a brief but invigorating shower, washing away the remnants of sleep and leaving him feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.

After a few minutes under the enchanted shower, Harry emerged from the mist, towel-drying himself quickly. As Harry contemplated his attire for the day ahead, he decided that blending in with the customs of this world would be the prudent choice.

Harry dressed himself in an Acromantula Silk tunic, simple trousers and a Basilisk hide leather Gambeson, opting for earthy tones that would be suitable for the surroundings of Winterfell. The garments were comfortable and practical, allowing for ease of movement as he went about his day.

As Harry completed his attire for the day, he made the decision to adorn himself with his trusty Dragonskin boots.

As Harry readied himself for the day ahead, he reached for his two Dragonhide Wand Holsters, designed to be worn as vambraces around his forearms. These specialized holsters provided both easy access to his wands and added protection for his arms.

With practiced ease, Harry secured the first vambrace around his left forearm, adjusting the straps until it fit snugly in place. Into this holster, he carefully slid his original wand, crafted from Holly and containing a Phoenix Feather core. It had been his steadfast companion through countless trials, and he trusted it implicitly to aid him in the challenges ahead.

Next, Harry fastened the second vambrace around his right forearm, ensuring that it was positioned comfortably for quick retrieval. Into this holster, he placed the Elder Wand, the legendary artifact that had once belonged to Dumbledore. Though he wielded it with caution and respect, Harry knew that its formidable power could prove invaluable in the trials to come.

With both vambraces securely in place, and a sense of readiness settling over him, his thoughts drifted back to the efforts of Theodore Tonks, the determined wizarding lawyer who had taken up Sirius Black's case with unwavering dedication.

Over the following weeks, Mr. Tonks had worked tirelessly, navigating the intricacies of wizarding law and bureaucracy with skill and determination. He had filed motions, gathered evidence, and petitioned the Ministry of Magic for a fair hearing for Sirius, refusing to be deterred by the formidable obstacles in their path.

Harry had watched with a mixture of admiration and gratitude as Mr. Tonks fought tirelessly on Sirius's behalf, his unwavering commitment serving as a beacon of hope in their quest for justice. And now, as they awaited word on the progress of their efforts, Harry felt a renewed sense of optimism for Sirius's future.

In the midst of their efforts to secure a trial for Sirius Black, Harry had the opportunity to meet Andromeda Tonks, Sirius's cousin and the wife of Theodore Tonks.

Andromeda was a woman of grace and strength, her presence a comforting beacon of hope amidst the uncertainty that surrounded them. She welcomed Harry with warmth and kindness, her eyes filled with understanding as she listened to his concerns and fears.

As Harry conversed with Andromeda Tonks, the conversation took an unexpected turn when Andromeda revealed a deeply personal connection to him. She recounted the memory of holding him in her arms as a baby, her voice tinged with nostalgia as she recalled the bond they shared.

Harry listened in astonishment, the revelation stirring a mix of emotions within him. To learn that he had been held and cared for by someone outside of the Dursleys filled him with a sense of longing and curiosity, and he found himself drawn to Andromeda's words with a newfound sense of connection.

However, Andromeda's mood shifted abruptly when Harry recounted his life with the Dursleys. Anger flashed in her eyes as she learned of the neglect and mistreatment he had endured at their hands, her protective instincts kicking in with ferocity.

"How could they treat you like that?" Andromeda exclaimed, her voice filled with indignation. "You deserved so much better, Harry. No child should ever have to endure what you went through."

Her words struck a chord with Harry, stirring a mix of pain and validation within him. To hear someone acknowledge the injustices he had faced filled him with a sense of validation and solidarity, and he found himself grateful for Andromeda's unwavering support.

In Andromeda, Harry had found not just a family connection, but a kindred spirit who shared his outrage at the injustices of the past. And as they spoke, he felt a sense of solidarity and determination growing within him, fueled by the knowledge that he was not alone in his quest for justice and redemption.

Harry confessed to Andromeda that he couldn't shake the feeling of frustration and determination that simmered within him. The revelation of his past and the injustices he had endured only fueled his desire to become stronger, to break free from the manipulations of figures like Dumbledore.

"I refuse to be a pawn any longer," Harry declared, his voice tinged with determination. "I've spent too much of my life being used and manipulated by others. It's time for me to take control of my own destiny, to become strong enough that no one can wield power over me."

Andromeda Tonks revealed to Harry the ancient tradition of the "Set-of-Three" ritual, a sacred practice meant to enhance one's mind, body, and magic. Conducted at the stroke of midnight on the eve of a person's 13th, 15th, and 17th birthdays, this ritual was believed to bestow profound strength and resilience upon the participant.

"The Set-of-Three ritual is a revered tradition among certain magical families," Andromeda explained, her voice filled with reverence for the ancient practice. "It is a journey of self-discovery and empowerment, designed to unlock the full potential of one's being."

As Harry listened intently, Andromeda elaborated on the components of the ritual and its significance in magical culture. She spoke of the mental challenges, physical trials, and magical tests that awaited those who undertook the ritual, each phase representing a crucial aspect of personal growth and development.

"Andromeda," Harry said, his voice filled with determination. "I want to undergo the Set-of-Three ritual. I want to strengthen my mind, body, and magic, so that I may face whatever challenges lie ahead with confidence and resilience."

Andromeda's agreement to assist Harry came with a cautionary note: the practice of rituals, including the Set-of-Three, was strictly forbidden in Wizarding Britain. Such practices were often associated with the Dark Arts and were viewed with suspicion and fear by the magical community.

"Harry," Andromeda said solemnly, her voice tinged with concern. "I want to help you, but we must proceed with caution. The Ministry of Magic takes a dim view of rituals, especially those that involve the channeling of magic in such a structured manner."

Harry nodded, understanding the gravity of Andromeda's warning. He knew that the consequences of being caught practicing such rituals could be severe, potentially resulting in expulsion from Hogwarts or even imprisonment in Azkaban.

"I understand, Andromeda," Harry replied, his voice steady despite the weight of the situation. "We'll need to be discreet, and take every precaution to avoid detection. The last thing we want is to draw attention to ourselves, especially given the delicate nature of Sirius's situation."

Andromeda nodded in agreement, her expression grave yet resolute. "We'll proceed carefully, Harry," she affirmed. "But know that I am committed to helping you unlock your full potential, no matter the risks. The Set-of-Three ritual required the consumption of the meat of a magical creature, it would be most effective if the creature was slain by the person performing the ritual."

Andromeda's revelation added a new layer of complexity to their plan.

"Harry," Andromeda began, her tone grave yet resolute. "I must impress upon you the seriousness of what we are about to undertake. The use of magical creatures in rituals is not only highly controversial, but also potentially dangerous."

Harry listened intently, his mind racing with the implications of Andromeda's words. He knew that the idea of slaying a magical creature went against everything he believed in, but he also understood the necessity of the ritual in unlocking his full potential.

"I understand, Andromeda," Harry replied, his voice tinged with determination. "But we must proceed with caution."

Andromeda's eyes widened in astonishment as Harry revealed his past encounter with the Basilisk in the Chamber of Secrets. She listened intently as he recounted the harrowing tale of his battle with the serpent, his voice tinged with a mixture of pride and solemnity.

"Harry, that changes everything," Andromeda said, her tone filled with a mix of awe and concern. "The Basilisk's meat would be a potent ingredient for the ritual, and your connection to its demise makes it even more significant."

Harry nodded, understanding the weight of Andromeda's words. The idea of using the Basilisk's meat for the Set-of-Three ritual filled him with a sense of apprehension, but he also recognized the necessity of harnessing its power to unlock his full potential.

"It won't be easy," Harry admitted, his voice tinged with uncertainty. "But if using the Basilisk's meat can help me become stronger, then it's worth the risk."

Andromeda nodded in agreement, her expression serious yet resolute. "We'll need to proceed with caution, Harry," she affirmed. "But I believe that with careful preparation and the right mindset, we can harness the power of the ritual without causing harm to ourselves or others."

Andromeda suggests they involve Ted, to started the process of filing paperwork for Harry to claim the remains of the Basilisk. He understood the importance of navigating the legalities involved, especially given the sensitive nature of their endeavor.

"You're right, Andromeda," Harry agreed, his voice tinged with determination. "We'll need Ted's expertise to ensure that everything is handled properly. We can't afford to take any risks when it comes to something as significant as this."

Andromeda nodded in agreement, her expression serious yet supportive. "I'll arrange it with Ted as soon as possible," she assured Harry.

With a shared sense of purpose, Harry and Andromeda set out to take the necessary steps to secure the Basilisk's remains for use in the Set-of-Three ritual. They knew that navigating the complexities of wizarding law would be no easy task, but they were determined to see their plan through to fruition, no matter the obstacles that lay ahead.

As Harry's thoughts were interrupted by the realization of his arrival, he found himself drawn back to the present moment. The weight of his past experiences lingered in his mind, but he pushed them aside, focusing on the task at hand.

Taking a deep breath, Harry joined the Starks for breakfast in the great hall of Winterfell. He was greeted by a warm atmosphere and the scent of freshly cooked food wafting through the air. Seated at the long wooden table, he found himself surrounded by the Stark family, each member engaged in lively conversation and laughter.

Lord Stark, seated at the head of the table, welcomed Harry with a nod of recognition, his expression reflecting both curiosity and hospitality. Lady Stark, sitting beside him, offered a polite smile, her demeanor gracious yet reserved.

Harry took his seat among them, feeling a sense of camaraderie and belonging in their midst. Across from him, Jon Snow nodded in greeting, his expression friendly and welcoming. Beside him, Arya and Bran chatted animatedly, their youthful energy filling the hall with a sense of vitality.

Sansa, sitting beside her siblings, regarded Harry with a curious gaze, her demeanor polite yet inquisitive. And Rickon, the youngest Stark, looked up at Harry with wide eyes, his expression filled with curiosity and wonder.

Turning to Jon, Harry inquired, "Jon, do you happen to know where Robb is this morning?"

Jon glanced up from his breakfast, his brow furrowing slightly in thought. "I believe Robb went to oversee the training of the guards at the northern gate," he replied, his tone reflective. "He's been taking his responsibilities as heir to Winterfell very seriously lately."

Harry nodded in understanding, grateful for Jon's insight. "Thank you," he said appreciatively. "I'll have to catch up with him later."

With a nod of acknowledgment, Jon returned to his meal, and Harry resumed his breakfast, his mind already turning to the tasks that awaited him after the meal. As he savored the food and conversation in the company of the Starks, Arya and Bran bombarded Harry with questions. He found himself skillfully navigating their inquiries without revealing anything about his true identity as a wizard.

"Arya, Bran, slow down," Harry chuckled, trying to keep up with their curiosity. "I'll try to answer your questions as best I can."

Arya leaned in eagerly, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "Hadrian, have you ever fought in battles? What's the bravest thing you've ever done?"

Harry smiled warmly at Arya's eager question, appreciating her enthusiasm. "Of course, Arya, you can call me Harry," he replied, his tone gentle. "As for your question, well, I've faced my fair share of challenges and dangers."

He paused for a moment, considering his answer carefully. "The bravest thing I've ever done... I suppose it's hard to say," Harry continued, keeping his response vague yet genuine. "There have been moments when I've had to stand up for what I believe in, even when it was difficult or frightening. But bravery isn't just about facing battles; it's also about facing our fears and doing what's right, even when it's not easy."

Arya listened intently, nodding thoughtfully at Harry's words. "That's really cool, Harry," she replied with a smile. "I hope I can be as brave as you someday."

Harry returned her smile, touched by her sincerity. "You already are, Arya," he assured her. "You've got courage and determination in spades. Just keep being true to yourself, and you'll go far."

As their conversation continued, Arya's curiosity seemed boundless, and Harry found himself enjoying her spirited questions and genuine interest in his experiences. They discussed everything from daring adventures to favorite foods, and Harry couldn't help but be charmed by Arya's infectious enthusiasm.

Bran, too, joined in with his own inquiries, asking about Harry's travels and the places he had visited. Harry shared tales of far-off lands and mysterious cultures, careful to keep his answers vague yet engaging.

As they chatted, Harry felt a sense of camaraderie and connection building between them, a feeling of kinship that transcended their differences. Despite the secrets he harbored, Harry found himself drawn to the warmth and openness of the Stark siblings, grateful for their friendship and acceptance.

As breakfast drew to a close, Lord Stark rose from his seat at the head of the table, his expression serious yet composed. With a nod to Harry, he gestured for him to follow as he made his way towards his solar, a private chamber where he conducted his affairs of governance.

Harry glanced briefly at Arya and Bran, offering them a reassuring smile before rising from his seat and falling into step behind Lord Stark. As they walked, Harry couldn't help but feel a sense of anticipation mingled with apprehension, knowing that the conversation ahead would likely be a weighty one.

Entering the solar, Harry found himself in a room adorned with maps and scrolls, the air heavy with the scent of parchment and ink. Lord Stark took a seat behind his desk, motioning for Harry to join him as he settled into a chair opposite.

"Hadrian," Lord Stark began, his tone grave yet measured. "I wanted to speak with you about yesterday's events in the Wolfswood. I know that you are more than what you seem to be, and the presence of Fawkes, a creature that was thought to exist only in Old Nan's story only confirms it. Will you put your trust in me and tell me your story?"

Harry listened intently as Lord Stark addressed him, his words carrying the weight of authority and understanding. He felt a mixture of apprehension and relief at Lord Stark's perceptiveness, knowing that the time had come to reveal the truth of his origins.

Taking a deep breath, Harry met Lord Stark's gaze with determination. "You're right, Lord Stark," he began, his voice steady despite the tumult of emotions swirling within him. "There is more to me than meets the eye."

With a sense of resolution, Harry proceeded to recount the tale of his extraordinary journey, sparing no detail as he revealed the truth of his magical heritage and the adventures that had shaped his life. He spoke of his parents' sacrifice, his years at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and the battles he had fought against the dark forces that threatened the wizarding world.

As he spoke, Harry felt a sense of liberation wash over him, the weight of secrecy and concealment falling away with each word. He spoke with honesty and openness, baring his soul to Lord Stark in a gesture of trust and vulnerability.

Lord Stark listened in silence, his expression grave yet attentive as he absorbed Harry's words. And when Harry had finished, there was a moment of quiet contemplation as the significance of his story hung in the air between them.

Finally, Lord Stark spoke, his voice resonant with authority and respect. "Thank you for entrusting me with your story, Hadrian," he said, his tone filled with sincerity. "You have my word that your secrets are safe with me. Whatever challenges lie ahead, know that you can count on my support and guidance."

With those words, Harry felt a sense of relief wash over him, his heart lightened by the knowledge that he had been heard and accepted by Lord Stark. And as they concluded their conversation, Harry knew that he had found in Lord Stark not just a lord, but a mentor and a friend, someone he could trust to stand by his side as they faced the trials of the days ahead.
