The outbreak - IV

Ariana and Jace walked on the narrow footpath that leads to the church. Ariana noticed that the villagers house here are mostly dilapidated due to the constant war with the neighbouring empire, since it was near the border. The church is the only exception as it was solidly built to serve a defensive role in times of war by the Sheraton's hundreds of years ago. The church is the only place, where they could treat the infected people.

As Jace open the sturdy oak door of the church, Ariana was shocked by the scene infront of her, the situation is even more severe than she thought. Some people are lying on the floor and on the benches while sleeping, while some are crying on the benches of the church, as they cried out in pain because of the disease inside them. Meanwhile, the healers tried to treated them, however the healers could only alleviate their pain with herbs and medicines.

Ariana felt her eyes welled up, as she thought her adoptive parents might be in same conditions as the people here, with no one to treat them, as they could only suffered the pain till they lost their lives. As she feel emotional, Jace grasped her hand tightly, silently comforting her.

Her mischievous baby brother had unknowingly grown up, such that he's able to comfort her, even in this situation,instead of being fearful.

"Lord Ezavius!"

Ariana heard Jace called out and saw a man in white robes, long white hair, modest face looking like a saint walked towards them, he had that positive ambience that as if comforting everyone with his presence.

"Sister this is Lord Ezavius Belestel, the most powerful wizard in the empire. He's the one who put the protective spell in this village, so that no one could enter or leave this village."

Ariana nodded as she realised, he's the reason why she felt odd when she entered the village, however at that she was in a hurry to find Jace, hence she didn't think much. In addition she's a healers, therefore his magic could hurt but they will eventually heals.

"Ahha, so you're the one who entered, here I thought it was Aidan," he spoke to Ariana while mumbling the last part.

"Lord Ezavius, this is my sister Ariana Rarelli, the best healers in town," Jace introduced his sister.

Ezavius narrowed his eyes at Ariana and said, "Really"

"Yes, unfortunately my sister was out of town at the time when this plague occurred, otherwise she could have heals our parents and the others," Jace said sorrowfully.

Jace was really heart-broken when his adopted parents died, besides he couldn't even do anything as his power is different from Ariana. At that instant, he really wants his sister to be there, she might perhaps able to save them, while he could only save himself, since the couldn't infected him.

Apparently, his adopted parents even when they were dying, requested him to leave immediately to the County of Cara to find his sister, since the town was in chaos at that time. However, he paid no heed to them, instead, he went to find the town physician, however the town was in chaotic situation, as the knights start evacuated every infected person who are still alive to the nearby village. He run back to his home, but his parents are dead. At that time he was feeling anguished and cried till he fainted. When he woke up, he met Ezavius and then he decided to help the healers and Physicians in making medicine, instead of going to the county to find his sister.

Jace came back to his sense when Ariana patted his head when she saw him looking sadly, she's sure he is missing theirs parents like she was missing them.

"My condolences little Jace," Ezavius comforted Jace, "I'm sure they're proud of you now."

Ezavius truly admired this little boy courage, even when his parents died, he didn't shed a single tears, instead he came to asked him how to used his power to helped them. Ezavius was really shocked when he discovered his power, the power of fire that only the descendants of the royal family had. However, he's still young, therefore his power is still uncontrollable.

Ezavius then turned to Ariana, this siblings are really blessed to have powers that are rare in this empire, they night be in danger if others with ulterior motives find them. However,now he really want to uncover Ariana powers , if she's really like her brother told him then she's a blessed person who had the ability to heals herself and others, "Now, can show me your power Lady Ariana?" he said solemnly.

Ariana nodded and walked towards the person near her, "Madam, can you give me hands?" she politely asked the woman in front of her, who was sleeping on the benches.

However, the woman didn't speak, as she was weak and unable to speak because of the pain in her bodies, as her body were filled with rashes that was frightening to even look, however Ariana was unfazed and expressionless, as she had seen even more frightening than this.

Ariana took the woman hand and closed her eyes, while she absorbed her healings power towards the woman. A light flash in their hands, as the rashes in the woman face and hands started to fade bit by bit until they are completely vanished, although, she still looked weak.

Ezavius eyes widened slightly, when he saw the scene in front of him. He's now completely sure she has healings power that is rare in their empire. Although, there're many healers in the empire, however they couldn't heals any injuries or illness instantly like Ariana did.
