Chapter 24, Chat With My Mother

I didn't know whether to laugh or cry after seeing her saying that and making a face like that, although technically I am still a child, I now have more control over my body and facial expression not like in the past, so I just decided to ignore her words for my own good and stare at her waiting for an answer.

"Humph, still no fun, well whatever. Sylvia said that Emilia jumped from excitement and took her maid Lucia to come here and see you, so they should be on their way and will arrive in a few hours after taking a few teleportation gates."

When I was about to answer my mother suddenly her ring glowed slightly and she motioned to me to wait for a second so she can check.

After about a few minutes of silence, a smile gradually appeared on her face until it looked joyful and she looked at me.

I couldn't control my curiosity so I asked,

"What happened to make you smile like this?"

"Your sister just talked to me through a message talisman, she said she has just returned to the Academy safely and was also asking about you, so I told her that you have just gotten out of closed-door cultivation," she replied with a radiant smile.

"So, is she returning now, or later?"

"She said she missed us so she is coming back now with her maid, they will probably arrive at the same time as Emilia will arrive at."

"Good," I said with a genuine smile on my face.

"I see you are very happy to see your elder sister, even though at the beginning you tried to avoid her," said my mother with a grin.

I didn't know what to say to this statement as what she said is true, as in the beginning her cheerful personality and the positive vibes she used to throw all around her was really something difficult for me to accept so there was a time when I tried to avoid her but as a child and non-cultivator at the time, how can I escape from her?

Of course, I couldn't escape and had to spend time with her, and the more time I spent with her, the more she managed to warm my cold heart and gradually made me accept her.

By the time I noticed that my heart allowed people to enter it, I couldn't change anything at the time as my mother and sister gave me all the love and care that I haven't experienced before, so they managed to engrave themselves in my heart.

As the silence returned I decided to think that maybe I should take the risk and ask my mother to check on my body and cultivation to see if anything is strange in my core or if she would notice the second core in my heart, better be safe than sorry, mother discovering the core now would do me better than some random old monster finding it by luck and putting me in danger.

"Mother, can you check my body and cultivation to see if I did anything wrong in my cultivation or if I am missing something for now?" I asked with a smile on my face while hiding the worries and doubts in my heart, and leaving them to when I see the results first

"Oh, sure come here and give me your hand," said Rebekah in a surprised tone, then she smiled happily, she was surprised because it is rare for Kevin to ask her for help with anything, he usually does his own things, and he didn't ask for guidance in those 6 years except for a few times that can be counted on one hand, so she was surprised and happy because her baby finally asked her help for something.

"Couldn't you just check me with your divine sense from your place?" I asked with doubt since I think it wouldn't matter to her if I was sitting here or I was in my cultivation room I know she can check on me at any time, but the system never informed me so I guess she respects the privacy of me and my sister.

"No, you should come here so I can check you and make sure nothing is wrong," she said while averting her eyes while looking around.

As I kept looking at my mother, I know she is lying but I also know that she won't make anything that might harm me, so I decided to humor my mother and see what she wants.

"Sure, mother," I replied with a dubious smile.

In return mother just gave me a harmless smile, so I just shrugged it off in my mind and went to my mother and gave her my hand so she can check.

After I gave her my hand, she simply used her right hand to touch mine and send her energy into my body to check if there are any hidden injuries in my body or any problems with my foundation till now.

After about fifteen minutes, she raised her head and smiled at me with a reassuring smile, I was going to smile back at her and sigh a sigh of relief knowing nothing is wrong but then suddenly her smile turned into one of mischief and I knew I was going to suffer.

Before I even take my hand back completely and return to my seat quickly, my mother caught me, as how could I escape her when the level of our strengths are worlds apart, and then she simply put me on her lap.

Although I may now be a little taller than when I was small, I am still 156 cm, taller than a normal 11 years old kid but compared to my mother who stood at 195cm, that was nothing much.

So when she put me on her lap, I had my head resting on the top of her breasts as I was sitting, I was a little dumbfounded as it have been 4 years or maybe 5 since my mother took me on her lap, it took me a few seconds to process and respond to her sudden assault.

"Mother, I… I am already too old to be sitting like this" I started with a stutter in my sentence, embarrassed about this position.

"What? Are you now too embarrassed to sit like that on my lap" my mother said with a laugh, amusement could be clearly felt in her tone.

"I am not embarrassed at all, if you want me to stay like this, then I will play along, Humph" I snorted to hide my embarrassment.
