Chapter 16, Blood Pool 2

As soon as I passed the barrier that blocked my view from seeing what is inside, I suddenly felt the space around me change, and for a second I felt that it is going to suffocate me, then that feeling immediately disappeared as it had been a lie and the space around me stabilized, what appeared before me was one of the few things among many others to come in the future that would fascinate me when seeing them.

As soon as my eyesight adjusted after the space shifted around me, I discovered that I reached a new place different from our realm as I have noticed that there are no sunlight coming from the sky, when I looked up all I saw was an uncountable number of stars that hung high above.

As for what is on the ground, the area was filled with an aura that screamed ancientness and majesty.

The area on the ground was filled with a large number of trees on both sides before me that reached the height of 4 to 6 meters tall, as after the slightly long passage of trees there was a huge lake that stretched for miles as the smell of ancientness and the metallic smell of blood filled the air.

Around the large lake, there was a large number of statues of different dragons which I presume are all kinds of dragons that branched from the original bloodline.

As we were approaching the large lake I decided to ask mother something that have been bothering me for a while,

"Mother, how come people of my age can use the blood of dragons that had broken the shackles of mortality and become divine dragons and their blood became divine blood after refinement not make my body explode upon touching the concentration of all of this divine blood when I enter the lake," I asked my mother with a confused look on my face.

"Silly, of course, if it was like you said you would have died without leaving a body to bury and the same to others, but the lake is very deep with different levels that can be accessed the deeper one went down while withstanding the pressure brought by the remanent wills of dead dragons and their blood and the pressure brought by the pain of refinement the body is going through," answered Rebekah with a smile.

"What dead dragons? Didn't you say that only blood essence is in this lake?" asked Kevin in a curious tone.

"Oh, I forgot to mention the dead dragons, As you already know there are two stages of cultivation before and after divinity, not all people have the talent required to break their shackles and advance further so they stop at the peak stage of the mortal realm"

"So? What does that have to do with dead bodies here?"

"Of course, it has as when those dragons reach their natural limit of life span whether before divinity or after, some of the outstanding among them from different branches of the other clans scattered outside in the other galaxies, their bodies would be taken and put here in the lake as their body and blood dissolve in the lake while prolonging the pool's age," Rebekah continued with a patient tone as she knows that some of this information wasn't mentioned in the library.

"I see, so how many levels are there in the dragon pool?"

"It is divided into 5 levels, 2 for before divinity and 2 for after while last one no one has ever managed to reach, the depth of the lake and find what is stored there by the Progenitor."

"Should I stay at the start of the first level or can I try to see if I go deeper?" Kevin decided to ask since he used a different cultivation manual than the one usually used so he wanted to know how far can he goes after all this effort.

"Well, your sister managed to stop after passing the middle of the first level by a small margin, so you can go and give it a try, it all depends on your willpower, body, and the purity of your bloodline to withstand the pressure," replied Rebekah with a smile but then she warned seriously,

"But don't push yourself too deep and injure yourself in the process and crippling your body by greed and absorbing more than your body can withstand, and remember refine 60% only of your marrow down there after that stop and come out, the last 40% will be refined with Gin only."

"Okay, don't worry mother, it is going to be okay," I said to her while looking in the direction of the pool that was emitting a sizzling sound from how the blood is boiling.

I kept staring at the pool for 10 mins adjusting my mentality while my mother kept standing beside me while looking at me with concern probably concerned about the pain that I would go through when I am inside the pool.

After spending approximately 9 years with my mother, I grew to accept the feeling of love and care she has for me, as I found this feeling at the beginning uncomfortable as it was a new feeling for me, but now I got used to it and I finally started to see this place a place where my heart can belong to and a place where I would protect with all my heart, that's why I have to withstand whatever pain is to come without complaining as I finally have a place I want to protect in the future.

After collecting my thoughts, I removed my t-shirt and then walked toward the pool alone, as I got near the pool I remember some information about the pool, the first level being down to 100 meters deep as the second level it starts from 101m to 1000m before reaching the third level but I guess my limit would be 80 or 70 meters as my sister reached 65 meters before her body couldn't withstand it.

After arriving in front of the pool, I jumped straight in to see how far can I reach before stopping to start my breakthrough.

10 meters…

30 meters…

50 meters…

70 meters…

85 meters…

Until reaching 85 meters my body hardly felt anything and when I passed my body started to feel a small tingle but it wasn't a big deal.

90 meters…

100 meters…

After passing this point, the pressure suddenly increased by 2 times but I still could move another 50 or 60 more meters if my estimations are correct.

110 meters…

130 meters…

145 meters…

After reaching here, I guess that is my limit, as the pressure become unbearable which can be considered outstanding as even my sister the person below me with two-level in talent only reached 65 meters.

I stabilized myself and begin getting ready to empty the blood in my body before refining my marrow.
