Chapter 7: Mana

"Now, do you have any questions?" Hilburt asked me.

"Yes, can you explain more about mana in general, and mana circulation methods?"

He just stared at me for a couple of seconds and asked back," Have you not learnt this before?"

I didn't really know how to answer his question, but then I decided to play the role of a playboy who has reformed, and said," Well, I never really had the time, as I was busy with...other stuff."

He seemed like he understood, and explained about mana.

"Mana is the spiritual life force energy that permeates the universe, it is something that any pure-breed can have. Only specific types of half-breeds can use mana. With mana, a lot of things are achievable."

"One of the many things is flying, without mana, man would have not been able to fly. Well, it is another case for dragons."

"With mana, came the invention of mana based technology, or mana-tech for short, and while it is still in its beginning stages, it definitely has a lot of potential. Look at the light in any of the rooms here, it is all made out of mana-tech."

"And there are also practical applications to mana, like moving across massive boulders, or creating fire when in a cold part of the country."

"I say practical, but there is actually very little. It is mainly due to the fact that us pure-breeds have to spend our time on more meaningful things then stuff like that."

"The applications in war for mana are endless. At the peak of mana manipulation, one will be able to conjure rows of flames, or bring forth a tsunami. With this, it is easy to cause massive damage."

"Now, that is the general stuff about mana, there are still uses like seers, healers, rune-smiths and plenty more occupations which you will learn about in the future."

"Now the reason why mana is so rare is because it is not an easy energy to harness. Mana is chaotic, and without proper mana circulation techniques, it can easily rip one's body apart."

"There is also the requirement of having to be a pure-blood. While there is that rare scenario of mix-bloods having the ability to control mana, it is rare."

"It also takes a really long time to control mana. At the very least, without using a mana technique diligently for a year, you will not even have a dot of mana in your body."

"Now onto mana circulation techniques."

"There are about 7 trillion nerves in the human body, however not all of them are strong enough to have mana inside of them."

"A mana circulation method is when mana goes through the body, and because it shows different reactions."

"An example is my Flameheart Families Secret Art. It allows us to have an abnormally high amount of mana, and allows it to have the elemental properties of fire."

"The only problem is, if your body is not trained, you will be unable to learn the scripture, and can also cripple certain parts of your body."

He then walked to the nearby wall, and put his finger out.

"Now, a normal person of any army will easily be able to punch a whole in a wall. That is the bare minimum of recruits."

He then put his finger on the wall, and pushed slightly.

Cracks started to appear on the wall, and it spread across like a spider-web.

"At the first stage of mana, the 'Internal circulation stage,' one can increase their strength several fold."

Then his finger caught on fire, and the fire spread specifically on the cracks of the wall.

"At the second stage, the 'elemental stage' you can apply your element onto mana. In your family's case, you can essentially apply any element, but the effects will probably only be 10% of normal elemental mana techniques."

He then raised his hand, and his entire hand, all the way from his shoulder, till his hand.

"This is the third stage, the 'partial elemental adaptation stage.' At this stage, you can apply your entire body in mana, and not have any damage to it. At this point, your mana control will be at an extreme high, and you will be able to use mana like it is second nature,"

He then stopped the flame, and said," There are more stages, but even I have not reached that point, so you do not need to know it right now. You have to take note, it will take you 1 year to reach the first stage."

"Right, any questions?" He asked.

I just stared at him in awe.

'What the hell, this is actually so cool... with this supernatural thing, what is the use of minecraft? How will it actually help me survive in this world?'

After thinking about it for a second, I decided to not ask any more questions. Mainly because I am sure there is a reason Hilburt brought me here, and that it would be too. suspicious to ask more questions.

"No, I do not." I replied.

"Right then, why don't you tell me what your unique skill is?"

Shit, how do I explain to him about minecraft now?
