Chapter 8: Life code

I just stared at him for a while, and said," I do not know how to explain this..." and as I was about to continue saying something, he stopped me and said.

"Don't answer that, it was meant to be a trick question. I did not know you were actually going to answer it. NEVER, tell anyone the specifics of your unique skill."

Then, he put his hand out, and a book materialised out of nowhere.

He then opened the book and showed it to me, and I could only see weird symbols inside of the book.

"Can you read what is inside the book?" He asked to which I shook my head.

"This book is the container of every person's life code, also known as the 'grimoire.' The life code inside, is essentially the talent of a person. The 'grimoire' also shows us how to use the life code, and only individuals can read their own life codes, no one else can read theirs."

"Does every person have a life code?" I asked.

"Yes, they do. But not everyone has a 'grimoire. That's because of their mixed-bloodline. We do not know why yet, but without a pure, or perfectly balanced bloodline, one cannot awaken a 'grimoire. And if they cannot awaken the 'container' they cannot use their 'life code.'"

I just nodded, and acted like I understood what was going on.

After that, he passed me a book, and said," there are instructions you have to follow in this book. Do not lose it, and follow it dearly. Also, if anyone troubles you, just show them this book. I will meet you in 1 week, I need to go out for now."

He then began to leave, and right before he left, he said," right, I forgot to mention, the book I gave you is also a key pass to my estate. Use it to enter here and use the equipment here to train."

He pointed at the wall from just now, which was repairing itself, he said,``Everything here is made from formations, and will repair itself, so you can train in peace."

And he left.

I decided to leave the mansion for now, and go back to my room.

After asking for directions and reaching back to my room, I decided to find more about the place I am in by reading the general knowledge book.

I don't know how long it was, but eventually, I started to feel extremely tired, so I decided to sleep.

We have 2 weeks before classes, and I have 3 main objectives.

1) Find out more about this world

2) Decide what to do about my mana circulation technique problem

3) Find out how and why I came to this world

If I have to be completely honest with myself, I don't think I will find out anytime soon about how or why I came here.

It has been 2 days since I came to this world, and I have found out more about this world from the library in the academy.

I am in the human continent, which has 8 main kingdoms, and I am the heir to a viscount level nobility in the 5th strongest kingdom.

The nobility rankings in this world goes like this:

1. Knights- Knights, the imperial knights of their respective kingdoms, people who can use mana, and be considered as honorary nobility.

2-Baronets- This is usually for knights who acquired a lot of military merit, but their kingdom does not have any land spare for them, and thus become baronets.

3-Baron/Baroness- They are nobility which have land, and people to rule over. They usually have their own income source as well, and help the economy of the kingdom.

4-Viscount/Viscountess- They essentially have larger amounts of land and people to rule over than barons

5-Earl/Countess- This is the rank of nobility which shows a massive difference. The number of Earl/Countesses a kingdom can have is fixed, and the battle power they have from lower level nobilities is massive. Each Earl/Countess, at the very least, are in the 3rd stage of mana manipulation.

6-Marquees/Marchioness- These nobilities are at higher stages of mana manipulation, and are people who would be desperately recruited by other kingdoms, as even having 1 of them would make a massive difference in their battle power.

7-Duke/Duchess- There are only 4 Duke/Duchess, per kingdom, and they rule a massively large amount of land. They usually take different sides of kingdoms, so if and when they are under attack, they will defend the kingdom effectively.

8-Grand Duke/Duchess- The Grand Duke/Duchess is the highest rank a non-royal can go to. They manage all lands for the royal family, and usually are the closest to the royal family a noble can get.

9- Princes/Princesses- People who will inherit the throne in the future.

10-King/Queen- Ruler of their entire lands, and usually the strongest of their lands.

Right now, I don't even have a noble title, but that is not really important right now.

Right now, I need to find a mana circulation technique, hopefully something that is extremely rare, and help me get stronger.

Now that I am in this strange world, I need power to protect myself. While I will not give everything up to get stronger, I want to try my best to not be average again.
