Learning the basics ch3/1

1 year later...

I've grown pretty fast I used to be the size of a big dog like a Great Dane. Now I'm the size of a small truck, and today I was hoping to go hunting with my brother and sisters. I also learnt their names. Julius Magnum(blue), Ladon Magnum(green), Glaurung Magnum(gold), Dalinda Magnum(red), Kayda Magnum(red), Ryoko Magnum(purple). My moms name is Alesia Magnum, and my dads name is Thilorius Magnum. Usually mom hunts while dad trains us basic things like wrestling,breathing fire, and striking.

We've been practicing a lot it's been fun. I was not as strong as my brothers and sisters I couldn't breath fire like they could. and I wasn't that good at wrestling either. When I would hit the tree it wouldn't do as much damage as the others could do. When they would it the tree it would tear chunks out of the trees, and when I would hit it, it would just leave scratches on the bark. I've narrowed it down to I'm just not used to this body yet, and that I would get better eventually. The only thing that worried me was that every time they were going to hunt they would evaluate our strength and if we didn't me the standard then we would be left behind to train while the others went out to hunt.

I had woke up earlier than everybody to practice today, but my dad was already up sitting at the entrance. "Good morning father." I said while moving towards the training grounds where we would practice. "Good morning son, what are you doing up so early?" My father asked as I walked past him. "I thought I would get up early to practice so that I could go hunting today" I said with enthusiasm as I continued to walk over to the tree we would practice hitting. "Okay son,I'll come with you" my dad said as he started to walk with me.

My father had told me before that this was special tree that could regenerate its bark and tree limbs if they had been broken because of the sap it produces, and that we could consume the sap to help heal injuries. So we could use it to practice honing our strength without holding back as long as we didn't cut the tree down because they were rare and took really long to reach the size of the one by the cave. There was also a special rock that could withstand very high temperatures without breaking but could still be broken if you went past its flashpoint causing it to melt and turn into molten rock.

When I got to the tree I started training by slashing with one arm then the other. My claws where sharpe and curved like an eagles but even then I couldn't do as much damage as my brothers and sisters. Thats when I noticed my dad looking at me confused like I was doing something wrong. "What's wrong dad am I doing something wrong?" I said puzzled as to why he was looking at me like that. "well I've been watching you for awhile now, and when you strike you don't use your mana to make your attack stronger, while your sisters and brothers naturally do it without noticing because us dragons have one of the strongest innate connections to magic. Only rivaled by other mystical beasts with equal magic control. Other wise we are the strongest predators in our environment physically and mentally." My father said as he also thought that I had higher mental capabilities, than my brother and sisters from the start making my magic capabilities even stronger and harder to control. He then proceeded to tell me how I can try to control my power by concentrating and trying to feel my mana inside my body as it was easier to feel than mana outside of the body.

He had also told me to meditate to help feel the mana easier, because I would be able to concentrate better than trying to do it while fighting or practicing movement with it.

After dad finished I was so excited to try to meditate so that I could control my mana that I pretty much flopped on the ground and closed my eyes. As soon as I closed my eyes and started to concentrate I could feel my mana flowing through my veins making me stronger but as I continued to meditate I noticed something was off it felt like my mana was being pulled into one spot in between my eyes causing there to be a golden and purplish spot that emitted bright enough that it was starting to light up the early morning forest. When some text appeared in my vision saying (system starting..), after that it felt like my conscience was being dragged inside of my body towards where all my mana resided.

When I came to I was in complete darkness. I was wondering what was going on when more text started to appear.

After reading all the information I was wondering what this system was, but there was nothing that described what it was or anything entailing what it was. So I decided to look over the options…
