Good things takes time

Chris gulped as his gaze still focused on the road. He doesn't know what to say. This time no one will save him. Just him and Rachel.

"Why do you ask?" He asked, hoping he can change the topic.

"You were like that ever since you came in, You are not even paying attention to what the board members are saying. This is not like you, Chris." Rachel explained making him guilty.

Chris sighed as he turnover, so he can face it properly. "Rachel... Would you give me some time to answer your question?" he asked making her confused.

" Is it that big that you need time to tell me?"She asked. Rachel doesn't care if she's still in her place.

What she knows is that Chris has a problem. And she needs to know it.

"Rachel... You know that I don't hide anything from you right?" Rachel nodded. "But can you please give me time on this one?" He pleaded.

As much as Rachel wants to know, she doesn't want to push either. She knows that the latter will eventually tell.

Rachel sighed. "Fine. But promise me you'll tell me okay?"

Chris nodded with a smile on his face, making Rachel relieved. At least she gets to see him smile.

"Okay, take me home, my Father is probably waiting." Rachel commanded.

"Yes, boss!" Chris energetically complied.

Rachel chuckle. "You're my boss remember?"

Chris stopped for a while. "Right, I forgot." He stated.

"You weirdo." Rachel murmured but Chris heard it making him smile ear to ear.

After a few minutes, They finally arrived at Rachel's house. Her house is not that big like theirs. But you can say it's good enough for her family.

Chris opened the door for her. Rachel can't help to smile at the gentleman. "Even if something is bothering him, He's still thoughtful." She thought.

"Come inside, Sir. Let me give you some meal at least." Rachel offered. Chris is now smiling like an idiot.

"It's late now, and you still haven't eaten dinner." she added.

"Are you sure I'm not bothering you?" Chris asked.

Rachel gives him an assuring smile. "When did you become a bother for me?" She asked back.

And those words make his heart flutter. "Oh, O-okay then." Chris stuttered.

Chris locked his car and followed her secretary heading inside.

When they set their foot on the lawn. Chris gulped when he saw Rachel's father waiting. The man is probably in his mid-50s. He is not that fat, just enough. But he is now using a wheelchair.

"Come on, Let's get inside." Rachel states he just nodded and followed her.

"Papa, Why are you still here outside?" Rachel asked as she goes to him and hugged him.

"Of course, I'm waiting for my daughter." He replied. "Is this your boss?" He whispered to her. Rachel nodded.

"Papa, This is my boss. Sir, This is my father, Ramon." Rachel introduced.

Chris lightly bowed to show respect. "Christopher Sinclair, Sir." This made the man smile.

"You don't have to be too formal. Just call me Tito." He said. Chris nodded as a response.

"Call me Chris, Sir... I mean Tito." his cute mistake made them both laugh.

The Father turns his gaze to her daughter. "I like him already." Rachel blushed with what she heard from him.

"What are you talking about? Come on let's head inside. It's cold here." Rachel avoids the topic by heading inside first. leaving the two men hanging.

They both laugh at her expression. "Do you mind if I push it for you, Tito?" Chris politely asked.

"I'll be honored, Chris. Thanks." He replied, Chris just smiled at him before pushing the wheelchair.

They are now in the living room, Rachel told them to wait there as she prepares Chris his dinner.

Chris obliged by staying and talking with her father. He said that her siblings are now asleep. Chris didn't complain since it's already late.

"I wanna thank you, Chris." Her father started. making him confused.

"I'm sorry?" He asked. Ramon chuckled at his innocence.

"I'm thankful because you kept her all these years. I know it's not easy for both of you to work in this field." He explained leaving the man in awe. "She's lucky to have a boss like you." Ramon added.

"Oh, I'm the one lucky to have her, Sir. She was there when I have no one. She's with me through my ups and downs." Chris's speech made Ramon's heart melt.

He had never seen someone who values his daughter so much besides him.

Ramon shot Chris a fatherly smile. "I hope things turn out well."

Chris's eyes widen. "Yes I know, the moment I saw how you look at my daughter. I already know you have something for her." Ramon explained.

Chris's mouth is agape, but no words came out. "I... I don't know what to say, Sir." He scratched his nape in shyness.

Ramon pats his shoulder. "It's okay, son. It's just hard at first. But once you overcome that fear. it's all worth it."

Chris smiled at what he heard. "Thanks, Sir. I appreciate your support." Ramon smiled back.

"What are you guys smiling at?" Rachel asked coming from the kitchen.

"We are smiling at you dear, cause we can smell what you're cooking." Ramon replied as he winks at Chris.

Rachel raises a brow, not buying what her father said.

"Haha, yeah. It got me hungry. Is it done yet?" Chris added to make Rachel believe.

"Oh, Yeah. It's almost done. Come to dining. Let's eat." Rachel called, both of them just nodded at the girl. and said that they are coming.

The dinner was filled with stories and laughter. Chris can't help but laugh when Ramon mentioned her daughter's childhood. Rachel on the other hand, Just hides her face every time her father exposes her.

But for Chris, he just realized that it made him love her more.

"Goodbye, Chris! Hope you visit again." Ramon waved at him, And so did he.

"I'll make sure to drop again some time." Chris replied.

"Okay, this goodbye will never end. Let's go it's late." Rachel started dragging her boss out of her house.

Cause it looks like he will not leave if she hasn't stopped them.

"Thanks for the meal, Rachel." Chris commenced, making her shy.

"It's nothing, Thank you for taking me home." She replied, Chris smiled at how cute her secretary is right now.

If only he can hug her, he will. But sadly, he can't.

He didn't notice that his thoughts made him frown. "Why are you frowning?" Rachel asked, knocking some senses to him.

"Oh, hehe. Don't mind me. I think I'm just tired." Chris stated.

"Alright, Go home, drive safely, okay?" Rachel reminded him. Chris nod as a response. He was about to turn around when he felt a hold on his wrist making him turn back.

He was frozen on his pace, When Rachel come closer. She tiptoed and planted a kiss on his cheek.

"Good night, Chris. See you tomorrow." she sweetly said as she slowly moves to give him some space.

Chris was frozen. Rachel can't help to chuckle at how amusing he look.

"Yah! you should go now, it's getting late." Rachel used her secretary tone.

"Oh, y-yeah. I-i s-should go." Chris can't think straight so he can't even walk properly.

Rachel chuckled, She walk towards him and supported him to get inside his car.

"I didn't know you're this weak." she thought.

"Hey! I'm starting to regret I did that." Rachel pretended to be sad. and she guess that worked cause Chris suddenly jolted.

"What?" he asked.

"Haha, I'm just joking. Now go, You still have school tomorrow." She remarked.

"Oh, right. Goodbye." Chris said while his gaze down.

Rachel wait for him to go, after a few minutes. Chris finally came back to his senses.

He beeped at Rachel as a sign that he's going. Rachel just nodded and wave.

Soon Chris faded at her sight. Rachel smiled when she remembered what she did.

"Oh God... Did I really did that?" She asked herself. Now she doesn't know how she would face her boss tomorrow.
