ONLY WAY IS UP.

Lee remembered some of the memories that he and Mirumo shared long before Mirumo thought of having an heir. They were old men now but Mirumo looked younger than him even though they were the same age back then. Lee has his own wife and children who are living well and eating five square meals daily with the best medical care, education, and entertainment money can buy! He had expanded the railway business into other transport businesses. He had fleets of large buses for traveling, a dock full of boats to ferry tourists, and just recently 'Wildflower' airlines in honour of the flower that was in perfect condition on Mirumo's body that was bloodied.

He was there during the funeral of Mirumo's wife and understood that Shuu was all Mirumo had as a family even with the CCG growing in power in his country, he still wanted his family to live in peace and not as a fugitive on the run as he once was in China. He understood Mirumo's sentiment quite well that's why he still spoke to Shuu as if he were his own.

"You need that if you want to survive for long without any communication with the outside world in that place we are going." Lee said as he sped up. Night soon came and Lee looked for a motel to sleep for the night and continued. He repeated this process for gas and rest stops until they reached a foggy mountain region, the air smelled of pine and the dew was heavy on the car.

"As per your request, we will be stopping a few hundred metres away from the drop location. Be ready." Lee said as he drove carefully in the foggy mountain range.

Shuu limited himself to a nod as he tried to observe his surroundings and make sense of the scroll before him. Thirty minutes later the car came to a stop.

"If you continue down this road you will reach 'that' place but you also be stopped by government officials and questioned so take the forest instead and return back safely Shuu." Lee said as he looked at Shuu who bowed his head slightly and left the car with two suitcases in hand, he already stored the silver briefcase in one of the suitcases that rolled behind him and waved to Mr. Lee who watched Shuu disappear into the green plantation alongside the mountains.

"Be safe you spoiled brat." Lee said as he drove to the nearest airport he could find to attend to his businesses.

Meanwhile, Shuu reviewed the scroll once again in amazement as he walked forward with resolve.

'This is just one of the paths I will take if I don't want to become someone's puppet in this world.' Shuu said with trembling hands. This was the first time he was doing something like this in unknown territory. This was almost the same as walking into Aogiri even as he is now. Aogiri Tree is a ghoul organization created by the 'One-Eyed Owl' and Tatara in the twenty-fourth ward in Japan. They often looked down on the twentieth ward as a peace-loving ward headed by a figure that the One-Eyed Owl loathed and supposedly didn't know the taste of war or strength. Their leaders were SSS-SS ranked ghouls, one SSS-ranked ghoul, and two SS-ranked ghouls. But since the organization was continually training and recruiting members, they would eventually have more SS-ranked ghouls and numerous S ranks, A ranks, and canon fodders in legions.

He began to review the information in the scroll that talked about a ghoul known as Sachi and Tatara as well. Sachi is an SS-ranked ghoul that learned martial arts in the location Shuu is trying to find at the moment, Sachi is also a ghoul that took in an illegitimate child that fled from home as his own, that child will later be the reason he was caught and imprisoned due to the child's excessive binge eating.

Information concerning Tatara and his past was also in that scroll as well. Tatara and his older brother Yan, ran the Red Tongue Clan (Chi She Lian), a ghoul organization. Yan was believed to be an SSS-ranked ghoul who needed the cooperation of many Special Class and Associate Special Class Investigators to take him down. The CCG was also employed in the raid of the Red Tongue Clan which led to some animosity between Tatara and a particular Investigator. The information about the hideout was also in the scroll as well. Shuu decided to visit that place after he was done with Sachi's master.

The trek along the forest was long but did little to Shuu's high endurance and stamina. It was getting dark and Shuu had already passed the checkpoint and boundary that was banned by the government. The atmosphere was fine but he noticed human skeletons on the forest floors. He approached them with caution and touched one that looked like a human resting its back on a tree trunk. But then light on a thin-like surface flashed his eyes and he retracted his arm but instead observed the surroundings around that skeleton. He noticed a nearly invisible fish line that ran horizontally from the skeleton to another area in the bushes.

'A trap?' Shuu thought to himself then closed his eyes and inhaled deeply. He could pick up the scent of a ghoul who had been here some minutes before. He opened his eyes quickly and scanned the area slowly. He didn't move from where he stood in the event that he could set off another trap. He looked at the ground he stood on and noticed another fishline that was barely above his ankles. He observed the trees again and saw small dents that the average eye could easily miss at the top half of the trees around him.

'They probably use the trees to get around. How primal.' Shuu thought. Traversing the forest through the trees would be fun and faster but he currently held two suitcases and had extra weights on him, so unless he was enough to move around before the trees and branches could register his weight, he would just be destroying the vegetation and calling attention to himself.

'Since the traps start from here, it's only an inconvenience to continue with the suitcases. I will bury them behind these traps for now.' Shuu thought as he turned carefully and found a place with good cover and bushes around it. He simply kicked the ground a few times the earth gave way at his strength. For his level of strength currently, digging a five-foot (1.5 metres) hole instantly is almost akin to children digging sand at the beach to build a sand castle. He dropped his belongings in the hole and covered it with dirt.

'And now to find where that scent leads.' Shuu jumped over the fishlines and landed on another fishline he didn't see but was expecting something like that anyway. The rope was about to wrap around Shuu's foot but wasn't fast enough to catch and hang its intended target upside down. The night sky loomed over the forest awakened nocturnal creatures and reduced visibility. But that didn't stop Shuu from following the scent. Shuu had long passed the traps and was just encountering wild animals at this point but kept to his objective anyway.

A large python that spanned over two metres long (seven feet plus) was resting on some human belongings and saw a figure zip past it. The python thought it was just another human running at insane speeds but sprang itself up and gave chase to the target. The phyton diligently followed even though it was lacking behind greatly. After thirty minutes of futile chase, it went back to its territory annoyed and judged it wasn't worth eating. The scent was getting stronger which assured Shuu that he was closer to his target. He had encountered some traps, but nothing could really catch him off guard. His Rc cells have been nourished over the week and getting used to the new strain on his body so the weights only slowed down his speed. If compared to when he sparred with Matsumae he is a lot slower than before.

Regardless, he still was still faster than a peak A-ranked ghoul, as he made his way to the mountains. When he reached the base of the mountains the scents went to a path that went around the mountain range a bit but another scent caught his attention. One so strong that he knew the other scent he was following and tracking up till now were actually separate scents belonging to two different ghouls. It was as if this stronger scent brought him enlightenment to know that he had actually been tracking two ghouls instead of one. This is the first time he was doing something like this anyway.

He decided to follow this strong scent and saw a pulley system that acted like an elevator that went up the mountain. He approached the makeshift elevator and the scent was consistent which showed that only this person uses this pulley system.

"The only way is up." Shuu said as he got inside the makeshift elevator and pulled the rope with everything he had.

[New trait= Basic tracking (50%)].
