Chapter 28: Sun Ray

Brenin Ddu hung limply against the grime-covered wall of the dungeon cell, its arms spread across the surface and bounded by rusted chains.

Rhys Faughn peered at the creature from the opposite side of the cell, hoping it was dead.

Neifion Dacus stood nearby, with Sky perched on his shoulder, while Lili Hughes lingered a short distance behind Rhys.

“Rhys, have you considered the possibility that Dilynwr Cysgodol may be the cause of this disease on the floating island”.

Lili confidently approached Rhys and began discussing the creature that was hanging inside the cell.

“It is likely, Brenin Ddu was responsible for spreading various deadly diseases wherever it travelled”.

“I sincerely hope that it is indeed deceased and not simply in a state of slumber”.

Rhys leaned in closer to the rusted cell, his hands tightly gripping the bars until his knuckles turned white.

“Perhaps we should consider checking”.

Rhys heard Neifion`s voice come from behind him.
