Chapter 8

He pointed at his finger indicating a 1 Trixie thought it was one year but what Sol meant was 1 hour. He learnt to make all this in 1 hour.

He felt proud of his work not knowing what he did would take some people days or even weeks to learn. But he did it by just watching a couple of episodes of Hell's kitchen.

"Oh, no. No. No. (sighs) Oh, God. Oh, God, what have I done?" Chloe panicked noticing first that one, her normal alarm didn't wake her up and two, she wasn't in her bed. Suddenly faint memories started coming back to her and she panicked.

"(Lucifer clears throat) Don't worry, my father's the forgiving sort. Well, except for when it comes to me. Triple espresso or hair of the dog?" Lucifer suddenly appears sitting on the bed she was just on. Taking everything in stride and finding her panicking amusing.

(No. Oh, right. Both. ♪ They dissolve off in sleep... ♪ )

" Please tell me, we didn't..."

(scoffs)

"Did we ever. And I'm pretty sure we made Rosemary's baby. Oh, Detective, it was extraordinary. The heat, the gymnastics. (chuckles) I mean, you had moves that made even the Devil blush." Chloe just glared at him trying her best to cover herself up while she changed into normal clothes.

"Oh, no, this is bad. Whatever happened last night, don't tell me, I'd rather not know."

"What, that we didn't do the nasty?" The bomb was finally dropped.

"We didn't?" She gave him a " You're kidding" kind of look.

"Nope, I turned you down cold." He said with pride.

" You, the guy who's been trying to get me into the sack since day one had a chance to sleep with me, and you didn't...? And Why-why was I naked?"

" What, you mean you don't remember the part where you passed out, woke up again, shouted at me, "It's too hot in this five-story hell hole," I believe it was, then tore your clothes off and proceeded to hog the bed?" He said imitating a Texan accent.

"I do that. Sometimes. When I'm upset. And you'd be upset, too, if your ex dumped you by text." She said almost finished changing while also defending herself.

"No, I'd be relieved if Dan dumped me. Even still, it's very out of character to see you so unhinged. And out of character for me, too. The whole 'not wanting to have sеx with you' thing. I mean, here's the strange part. This gave me quite a rush. Can't explain it. I've been thinking about it all night."

"Okay, last night was a fluke. For both of us. Never happened, leave it at that. Right." She said before walking to the exit in a hurry.

"You snore, by the way. Like an Albanian field wench!" Lucifer had to have the last laugh before she left.

The moment she heard the word snore she immediately remembered she forgot about taking Trixie to school, but then she remembered Sol.

Trixie and Sol sat down at the dinner table eating the amazing breakfast while Trixie talked to Sol who just listened and nodded to the question or two. But as they were the house phone Rang alarming them both. Trixie was the first to react by going to the phone.

" Hey Mommy, ye, uhum he's here. OK." She passed the phone to Sol who picked it up and put it to his ear.

"Mhh." Hearing that reply Chloe already figured out that was Sol now on the phone.

" Hey Sol, ill be running a little late, could you do a favour take Trixie to school. I don't want her going by herself."

" Mhh " He agreed.

" Thanks, could you pass the phone back to Trixie." And so he did. The two girls talked for a minute before Chloe hung up.

"Let's go, Sol, I can't wait to show you my school." Sol nodded also interested in what school looked like.

After dropping Trixie off at school Sol had a secrete look around but didn't find it interesting, so he went to see Trixie one last time but seeing as she was in class and ok he left to explore more of the city.

( Location: Santa Monica beach.)

On the beach there was a huge crowd of people waiting, drinking, eating and just having a good time. In fact, there were more people here today than normal. And the reason.

" WELCOME LADIES AND GENTLEMEN TO THE 17TH ANUAL LOS ANGELES HOT DOG EATING CHAMPIONSHIPS. WHERE EATERS FROM ALL AROUND THE CITY AND EVEN THE WORLD COMPETE FOR THE TITLE OF KING OF WEINERS AND A CHECK FOR 200,000 DOLLARS"

The announcer shouted as he spoke through the microphone. That last part made the crowd laugh but the prize money made them envious and excited of whoever the winner will be.

" BUT THAT ISN'T ALL FOLKS FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER IT WON'T JUST BE THE EATERS WHO GET THE CHANCE AT THE TITLE AND MONEY, BUT ALSO 3 LUCKY AUDIENCE MEMBERS WILL BE CHOSEN AT RANDOM TO GET A CHANCE AS WELL. IF NOT IT WILL BE GIVEN TO THE NEXT PERSON."

This shocked the crowd and those who had been to past competitions. It made them hope they were picked. Some guys got cocky thinking if they were chosen they would easily win while others thought they had no chance in hell.

Sol was just casually passing by walking along the pier eating an ice cream that he "bought" when he heard what was going down at the beach.

Seeing the crowd all excited also made him a little giddy.

'This seems like fun.' He made his way down to the beach still in his timberlands which made those who saw him walking like it was no big deal curse.

When he made it to the entrance he was met with staff and security who made sure no one came in without paying first. Seeing this Sol got out a wallet he "borrowed" and paid his entrance fee. They gave him a yellow paper bracelet and let him in.

And just as he got in he heard the announcer again.

"WITHOUT FURTHER ADU LETS INTRODUCE THIS YEARS COMPETITOR'S. STARTING OF WITH LAST YEAR'S CHAMPION."
