Caught!

"Y-You," she stammered staring at him with eyes widened in disbelief.

She had watched everything that happened and was shocked to see how the boy who had been looked down upon for his weakness performed.

Art himself was shocked because he made sure to check if anyone was around before fighting and now he was staring at someone seated.

If anyone came through the stairs he would've noticed and put on an act but she seemed to have just appeared.

She had short silver wavy hair with green eyes and was the shy girl who felt sad whenever he was bullied and he had barely seen her since that first-morning breakfast.

Wait! That's not meant to be so, there are several occasions where they should've met but he doesn't remember seeing her, for example, the announcement that just happened a while ago, he remembers seeing everyone's face but not hers.

The former body owner also had similar experiences. It turns out that she can conceal her presence, not being noticeable unless a lot of attention was put on her. That's a handy power for a shy person.

Why he noticed her at breakfast the other day was because he looked at everyone seated in detail. Now how was he going to handle this?

After deciding, he took a deep breath before standing up and walking towards her.

She watched nervously as he got closer and even after reaching 5 meters away from her, he didn't stop.

4 meters,

3 meters,

2 meters,

1 meter,

1 foot.

Now he leaned forward with his face inches away from her making her face turn red and her finger fidgeting.

''H- He's too close.'

Her heart was thumping loudly against her chest.

"Tess, how are you doing?" He said in a friendly yet domineering tone.

"I…I…I'm fine, how about you," she stammered avoiding his gaze. Even her palms were sweaty.

"I'm doing great as you just saw," he gestured toward the arena with a smile.

She was aware that what she just saw was something he was trying to keep a secret, so she decided to act like she was oblivious to what he was saying.

"What are you talking about? I- I didn't see you fighting...ah!"

Art raised his eyebrow at her making her realize how she had failed, making her cover her red face in embarrassment.

Art chuckled lightly at her action which was cute before patting her on the head.

"You don't have to try to deny it. It's alright. If anyone, I'm okay with you seeing it."

She slowly brought down her hands exposing her face which was less flushed with slight confusion. She didn't know he thought of her in such a way.

"Don't look at me like that. You're the nicest person among everyone here."

Her face turned even redder after hearing this, she was like a steaming tomato.

"But…Art….like…Cait," she muttered slowly while childishly moving her fingers.

'Cai... What! Does this girl think I'm…'

His mouth twitched but he controlled himself.

"Don't get the wrong idea, I like no one. So, can this stay between the two of us?" Art asked with expectation in his eyes but his tone was still somewhat threatening.

"Uh-huh," she nodded her head timidly as a big smile appeared on his face.

"I knew I could count on you. I'm tired so I'll be going now. Have a nice time," he waved before walking towards the stairs. She stared at him as though he was an entirely different person.

The Art she got to know over the past eight months wasn't like this. Maybe it was because he was getting better and decided to show his true personality.

Art on the other hand was a little relieved. He meant what he said about her being the best person that could see it. At least he was sure that she won't be telling anyone soon.

Despite the act he was putting on, Art knew that he wasn't on the same level as that shy timid girl.

If he was to rank all the Von Silvers here according to the strength they've displayed, she would be at number 6 out of 14, and he believed that if she could get rid of her shyness which even affected her during battle, she would be even higher than that. This was why she didn't get bullied even with her character. Even Frigga who was number 3 avoided her.

Oh! Of course...…he was number 14.

He decided to use the rest of today and tomorrow to rest so he headed to his room.

As he opened the door, a smile appeared on his face as he stared at his bed.

His love and affection for it had grown in the past two weeks.

Without any care in the world, he leaped on it sinking into the fluffiness of a material he didn't care to know.

*Sigh*

There was no way someone would get nightmares while on a bed like this.

"Given that you failed to notice my presence, your bond with that bed is envious."

He turned towards the source of the voice to see Racheal seated on a chair with a smile but her twitching lips showed that she was not pleased.

"I guess so," he patted the bed.

She just shook her head in disappointment. "You guys would be heading out for the ceremony correct?"

"Yes," he replied sitting up.

"Are you also going?" Even though she had seen how much his health had improved which was shocking, to say the least, she was still worried.

After seeing him nearly die which would have happened if not for the strange man who appeared from nowhere to help him, she had become more overprotective but he had also gotten much more stubborn.

Even after what they experienced he still insisted on going to the forest alone.

At first, she refused, but seeing how he returned with a smile seemingly also looking better and stronger, she believed that it made him happy which also made her happy.

Even though he got better every day which seemed strange, she didn't worry about how he got better, just the fact that he did was enough for her.

So she let him have his way, and besides, he was her master. If it wasn't for their relationship, she could only advise him and not force her decisions on him.

Seeing her lost in thoughts like himself, Art waved his hand bringing her back to reality.

"Oh! Right. I'll leave you to rest now," she said with a bow before walking out of the room.

After she left, he grabbed a pillow while staring at the golden glass chandelier hanging on the ceiling.

It's been two weeks since he arrived here, and the longer he stayed the less he thought about his past life.

He didn't know if time ran in the same way as his former world, but if so, then it had also been a little over two weeks since he died. He wondered if those two were still alive.

His blood was beginning to boil and he didn't want to ruin his day, if not, his pack would be hearing from him tomorrow.

Only they have had a taste of his anger. He needed to get stronger so some humans would share the same fate.

He put one of his free stat points into his vitality as the feeling which he was now used to washed over his body.

In a bed like this, it didn't take long before he fell asleep and that was why he missed a notification from the system.

I still apologize for my unsteady updates, expect lots of chapters after the work is contracted and moved and that would be happening soon. Thanks for reading.
