Underground training

Art was standing in front of the door which led to the underground arena.

Others came here to train or spar almost every day but he hasn't gone in for months due to low self-esteem and the mockery he received (not actually him).

Today was going to be different.

As he walked closer, the door opened by itself revealing a long staircase heading downwards.

He walked forward and just as he placed his foot on the first stair the whole staircase all the way to the end got lightened up by designs of lines on the wall. Some were curly, some wavy, mostly intertwining

It was a very beautiful sight.

With a smile on his face, he descended the stairs and when he reached the end the underground arena also got lightened up.

It was a battle arena with rows of seats that rose in steps around a spherical open space.

The rows of seats weren't much as it wasn't meant to occupy a large number of people in the first place.

He looked around making sure that he was alone as he didn't plan on holding back.

He walked to a particular place in the open space which had a device.

The technology of this world didn't lose out to his former world. In a way, they seemed more advanced as this was magic and technology coming together.

Even though this was his first time seeing this device, it wasn't also his first time so he knew how to operate it.

After tapping a few places on the holographic screen it produced a sword that appeared in front of him which he grabbed before walking to the center of the arena just shortly after. Some parts of the walls surrounding the arena raised open as five figures walked out wielding different weapons.

They had the exact build of humans but were artificial just like robots. They were powered by mana cores which enabled them to make movements of their own.

This type of training had levels ranging from one to ten.

The Silvers under training came set by set yearly. Once a set was taken into academies or wherever they choose, another set would come in for the one-year training.

According to his knowledge they were the 100+ set and throughout history, the highest level cleared solo was level 8.

Even though the training advanced over the years, the difficulty was still similar.

Iris, Charles, and Frigga had all cleared level 7 but no matter how they tried level 8 seemed impossible for them.

Art here had set it to level 3 to see how he would fare.

He was surrounded by all five of them so his senses were heightened.

This was the first time he would be fighting a human or something like it as he spent his entire time with his pack. Cough!

They finally made their move all dashing towards him at the same time.

He studied them as they approached him.

Even though they were in sync, it could become a disadvantage if used properly.

He waited till they got into striking range and they all swung their weapons at the same time.

He leaped up while twisting his body in mid-air causing two of the weapons to clash against each other while using his sword to block one and his leg to deflect another but he hadn't gotten the position he wanted perfectly so the last weapon which was a mace without spikes hit him on the stomach, and he slid back with a trickle of blood from his mouth.

'I still need more stat points in vitality and agility to become in sync with my mind,' he already knew this but now he needed to resolve it as quickly as he could.

He zoomed towards the 5 artificial humans.

When he got to the first one it slashed its sword at him but he ducked, evading it before sending a kick to the face of another causing it to stagger backwards, creating an opening for him to bolt past it with a slash which resulted in its head falling to the ground.

'I guess I also need strength,' he could feel his hand which was a little numb from cutting through its neck but he didn't have time to recuperate as the one holding the mace swung it right at his face.

He blocked the attack using his sword knowing fully well that this one was strength based but its strength was more than what he expected as his legs were raised from the ground slightly while moving backwards before skidding two meters.

"Two strength-based and three agility based at just level three. If they were able to clear level 7 then they're much stronger."

Another AH(Artificial Human) wielding two daggers already had one aimed towards his neck.

~CLANG!!~

A sound reverberated from his sword and the dagger clashing.

They both began to exchange swift attacks while moving across the arena.

It was a little faster and stronger than him but his skills which were superior to it covered up for that so they were almost evenly matched.

Art heard footsteps approaching from behind, of course, the others won't just sit by and watch this display.

With perfect timing, he bent backwards barely missing the big baton that passed just an inch above his face before slamming the AH with two daggers, sending it flying.

He quickly thrust his sword into the chest of the one that had just attacked and as he pulled it out, it fell to the ground leaving just two who were running towards him.

He also ran forward and when they entered mid-range, the one holding the staff swung it at his chest but he slid below it with split legs before quickly getting up and kicking against the ground which raised its body into the air towards the one behind, also dodging the swung mace before piercing his sword into its head.

Not wasting any time, he pulled out the sword before throwing it to the last AH with the staff which was still turning around when it went right into its neck.

"Level 3 completed," a voice that came from who knows where echoed across the arena, and under his gaze, the AH's bodies faded away.

He still couldn't help but marvel at some things. It seemed to be magic. Oh! Yes, he was in a magical world.

Quite exhausted, he sat on the ground satisfied with his improvement but he still had a long way to go.

If he keeps gaining exp at this rate, he believed that he would become stronger than most of the young Silvers here in the next two weeks.

He prayed that they won't have the annual contest before then.

Now that his mind had settled down, he noticed heavy breathing coming from a particular direction and as he shifted his gaze, he saw someone staring at him with eyes widened in disbelief.

"Shit!"
