Chapter 9 Plague Bringer

Once Eredeti and Kaneid finished discussing the current issues at hand they started to make their way back to Steve who at the time was sitting down by a tree with a fire in front of him started to talk to himself

"I wonder how long it will take for that old man to get back, He doesn't look that strong, I fear that if he were to run into anything he will surely die"

POV switch Eredeti

Once Eredeti and Kaneid finished their little discussion Kaneid started to lead him towards a unknown direction and although Eredeti wanted to ask where they were going he couldn't even get a word out, Kaneid then started to cast another spell "Oh the mighty Ablion give us speed to traverse through the lands Spodious!"

Eredeti then felt the same power surge through his legs similar to what happened last time and Kaneid turned to him and said "Follow me and try not to slow down"

"Ill try my best old man" Eredeti said

Kaneid then started to move and Eredeti followed after and about half a hour of continually running through the forest they finally could see a road Kaneid then shouted out "There I see the road"

Once they jumped out from the tree line Steve who wasn't that far away heard a sudden rustle and as he looked to his right he could see the old man and beside him was someone on the ground he has yet to met 'Is he a friend of Kanieds?'

While Eredeti was on the ground he was breathing really heavily he then looked towards the old man and said "What are you some kind of monster how are you not tired?"

"I could say the same to you" Kaneid said with a mocking tone

"I should've seen that coming" Eredeti said to himself

But while Eredeti was resting on the ground he looked to his left and could see a man that looked to be in his mid to late thirties 'Who is he?' Eredeti thought to himself but Kaneid then went to greet the man

"Steve I have returned and don't mind that young man over there he is a acquaintance of mine"

'Steve is it' Eredeti then got up and walked over to where Steve was however when he went to shake his hand and introduce himself the man known as Steve started to shake nervously

However Eredeti didn't mind it thinking 'Maybe he is just nervous to meet someone new?' once he was right in front of Steve he could now see him sweating profusely he then asked

"Is their something wrong Steve?"

"Huh? oh, no nothing's wrong" he said as he then forced a smile and then continued to introduce himself

"Hello young man, my name is Steve it is a pleasure to make your acquittance"

"Hello their sir my name is Eredeti" He then gave a handshake to Steve and a reluctantly accepted it

'Why is he so nervous?'

Steve then went over to Kaneid and had a worried look on his face he then signaled him to talk over to the side

"Who is the boy!?" Steve whispered

"As I have previously stated Steve he is a acquaintance of mine" Although Kaneid was rather confused of why steve was acting like this it didn't really bother him that much

"So then why does he seem so dangerous like a beast stalking his prey!" although Steve was trying to be as quiet as possible Eredeti with his increased senses could hear him

'What does he mean by that?'

Although Kaneid was just as confused as Eredeti

"What do you mean by that, he is but a normal young man?"

"Their is no way he is normal, his eyes his aura everything about them scream out danger to my senses!"

Although Eredeti and Kaneid didn't know this currently but Steve was a monster hunter although he wasn't quite yet a ranger that didn't mean his sense of things were weaker after so many years of constantly having to watch his own back he eventually had adapted and formed something of a sixth sense this is also the reason why he didn't suspect Kaneid was someone dangerous

"I assure you that boy is no where near dangerous, he doesn't even know how to swing a sword properly"

Although Kaneid had been trying to convince Steve that Eredeti wasn't dangerous he to could sense it in fact ever since he saw that power he had he could tell what ever it was, it was very dark and intimidating in fact all the animals had run away when he first came back from the grave

"Look Steve we can talk about this later but for now try to get to know the boy better he is a very caring and bright young man"

"What ever you say Kaneid ill try but if I ever feel my life is in danger at any point in time I will defend myself"

"As you should"

Once Kaneid and Steve walked to where Eredeti was he was attending to the fire and looked mesmerized by its bright flickers of flame Kaneid then sat his stuff beside him as usual and took out his pipe while Steve looked on edge and sat the opposite direction where Eredeti was

The night was quiet as Steve kept staring down Eredeti however when he saw that Eredeti went to sleep he watched him for a few minutes before quickly doing the same and as the night passed by and the morning hit Kaneid was the first to awake like always and shortly after Eredeti also woke up while Steve who was always on edge around Eredeti was fast asleep

"should we wake him up?" Eredeti said

"I guess we should" Kaneid replied

Kaneid then went over to where Steve was sleeping and shook him awake but the instant Kaneid touched him he quickly jolted awake

"Steve we should be on our way soon"

"Alright let me ready the horses"

While Steve was busy attaching the horses the to the carriage Kanied approached Eredeti and signaled him to talk else where, once they walked about 10 meters away from Steve Kaneid then told Eredeti of what had Steve on edge although Eredeti all knew this

"So what do you want me to do about it I can't just say that I'm not going to do him no harm he wouldn't believe me" Eredeti said

"All I want you to do is talk to him get to know him better and show him you mean no harm" Kaneid said

"Ill try my best" Eredeti said as he began to walk towards the carriage

Although Steve was still a bit on edge of Eredeti he tried to take what Kaneid said to heart and walk towards Eredeti who was sitting down in the carriage with his sword and dagger next to him Steve then sat down next to him and started to talk

"Eredeti I know we may have gotten off on the wrong foot so as a adult I decided that I should apologize for my rude and childish behavior last night"

Although Eredeti was going to attempt to talk to Steve he never expected him to come to him instead because it seemed he was still on edge last time they had talked

"Its nothing just forget about it, its not like you did me harm anyways" Eredeti said

"Thank you for understanding" Steve replied

"I would have been to if I was in your position, so just drop it" Eredeti said

Steve then hopped out of the carriage and went to check on the horses Kaneid having seen this got in the carriage and settled down his belongings and took out his pipe once more

"So does Steve trust you a bit more?" Kaneid asked

"I guess he was the one to apologize after all" Eredeti said

Once they were all ready and prepared to set off Steve sat on the drivers seat and set off towards the town of Alester and the expected time of arrival only seemed to be only 4 hours during this time Eredeti and Steve decided to get to know each other a bit more

However while they were traveling disease was spreading and the dark being known as the Plague Bringer who looked to be made up of several bugs and creatures was in a cave that also looked like a throne room of some type

His appearance was horrendous as he had a centipede leg attached to each of his ribs and had a mouth of a fly and the tail of a rat and he had red compound eyes along with the legs of a cricket and although he had a humanoid face with black hair it truly could no longer be called human and looked like a abomination instead

He then set up a round black crystal on a stand and the inside of it had orange clouds inside of it he then knelt down on one leg while placing his hand on the object it started to glow and finally a face could be seen from it the person had red hair and eyes that glowed like flames and only one word could be used to describe such a man, Handsome

"Commander Aerico, What do you have to report" Said a dark and prideful voice

"General Eric I have completed the task that you have given me and I have successfully spread the plague as per your request"

"I am very pleased with your efforts, I will report back to the dark lord and tell him of your efforts and to ask him of our next move, standby till then"

"As you wish general"
