Chapter 10 The Town Of Alester

Finally they have arrived at the town of Alester although it is mostly known for its fertile land and immense amount of crops their is also another reason people chose to travel to this place its entertainment

In Alester there are many things to do and since their are tourist year around they have many booths set up for food and other luxuries Steve has told Eredeti and Kaneid how wonderful and lively it is at Alester and all the fun things they could do however when they arrived they saw something unexpected

The booths were closed people weren't out and about and their were rats on every corner of an alley looking to be feasting on a human corpse seeing this Eredeti instantly turned over and puked he then turned over towards Steve and said

"What the hell is this, this isn't lively this is just sick"

However the look on Steve's face said it all he hadn't expected to see the town to be this bad in shape in fact when he left a little over a week ago everything seemed fine so what could have changed for things to come to such a state

"I don't know what happened, the plague shouldn't have been this bad even the doctors said it was contained so it shouldn't have spread"

Although Eredeti didn't like to see the bodies he seemed to have something else on his mind at the moment he realized he couldn't see the souls above them which confused him greatly

'Wrath why cant I see the souls?'

'The bodies have been dead for over 48 hours you must evolve your abilities to further increase the time limit, current level to evolve lvl 10'

Steve then instantly started running towards somewhere and Eredeti and Kaneid followed while looking around the place their seemed to be many corpses and no one seemed to be here

'What could have caused all this even if it was the plague bringer this is a bit much'

Eredeti and Kaneid kept following Steve until eventually he came to a stop in front of a house he then slowly turned the door knob and entered but when he entered he was swarmed by flies

"AGHhhhhhhhhh" Steve started screaming while the flies kept flying onto his skin and taking bites out of it almost as if they were starved and were desperately looking for something to eat

"May disease rot and parasites parish Exomdious"

All the flies surrounding Steve were turned to dust and fell to the ground Eredeti then quickly went to Steve to see if he was okay Although he was fine he had many bites on him and blood rushing down all over his body even though it wasn't a large amount it still looked like it hurt

Once Eredeti saw that Steve was fine he started to look around the house to see if he could find anybody and all he could see were empty rooms and some paintings on the wall but when he went inside one of the rooms it had a full set of armor on display and a sword that looked expensive as the armor that was hung on the wall

Steve didn't falter one bit after the attack and as he looked around the house and found a set of half eaten corpses inside the kitchen area he then instantly fell to his knees and had tears roll down his eyes he then covered his face with his hands

"AGHHHH!"

Steve let out a scream of anger and agony, he then stopped screaming and kept crying while his eyes looked lifeless Eredeti then walked over to look as he laid his eyes on what Steve was screaming over he barely held himself back from puking Kaneid went over and put his hands on his shoulder and said

"Were they your wife and daughter?"

Although he didn't respond for a while and just stood there on his knees he stood back up and said

"Whoever did this will pay!"

Steve who had a look of hatred and sadness on his face took the two corpses and went to the back yard of the house and grabbed a shovel that was laying on the wall and started to dig Eredeti and Kaneid quickly grabbed the other two that was left and helped

After digging for 2 hours straight Steve finally put the 2 corpses in and started to put the dirt back on top of them once they were finished burying Steve's wife and daughter Kaneid quickly offered a prayer

Once Kanied was down with the prayer Steve went back into his house and Eredeti followed him to the room where the armor and sword were Steve then started to put on the armor and picked up his sword and then left out of the front door when Kanied saw this he knew immediately what he was trying to do Kaneid stood in his path and said

"Where do you think you're going in such a state?"

"Kaneid move, now is not the time"

When Steve had said this he had a look of determination in his eyes once Kaneid saw this he knew their was no stopping him so instead he would help him

"Do you even know where your going?" Kaneid said

"I'm going to put a stop to this madness and I'm pretty sure you've realized this too, this is the work of the Plague Bringer" Steve replied

"I'm not trying to stop you, however let me help you and in return train Eredeti on how to use the sword so he can be of use" Kaneid said

"Very well, we must prepare for the journey anyway, Eredeti go around and try to find enough food and water for us to live off of for at least a month"

"Alright" Eredeti said

Once Eredeti set off Kaneid and Steve were standing there alone

"Steve what do you plan on doing?"

"Simple I'm going to cut down that accursed Plague lord" Steve replied

"Its not that simple even if we knew where he was he will surely have his army of monsters and bugs by his side and his power is unrivaled in these lands" Kaneid said

"Even so I must try, for this life of mine I have nothing left for me, no purpose no goal no family or hopes, so even if I die I must try to take that bastard with me"

Although Kanied felt that Steve was just wasting his life he couldn't convince him other wise and if they succeed the dark lords army will have lost a valuable asset so he saw no downside to this plan

"Very well, I will help you the best of my ability however if I feel that my life is in danger I will escape" Kaneid said

"Seems Reasonable enough" Steve replied

POV switch Eredeti

"Hahhh even though he told me to search for food and water I can't find anything here"

Eredeti continued running through the houses and all the booths he could find yet he couldn't find a thing

'is it possible that the bugs ate all of it?'

Although this was the most plausible answer he couldn't imagine the amount that was needed to not only eat the corpses but the food as well while he was thinking this the hair on his neck started to rise thinking about all those small bugs attacking him

'Blehh I better stop thinking about such a thing'

Eredeti started to check the fields to see if their was anything that he could pick from the crops yet once again when he arrived all the fields looked like they have been destroyed all the crops that were once growing were completely eaten and died

"Damn it is there any food left!"

Eredeti at this point was getting more aggravated as he was traveling the entire town for 2 hours yet he was still unable to find a single piece of any food although he didn't have much trouble finding water since almost all the houses had some and it seemed to be untouched although he leaned on the side of caution incase the water was infected

Eredeti then continued to search house to house until he heard something from the inside of one of them and when he entered a giant ant the size of human (6ft) was eating the corpses however the ant turned to look at him when he entered and all of a sudden it made a loud screeching noise

"SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE"

didn't know what it was doing but he didn't like the sound of it so he quickly pulled out his sword and went to slash at the ants head but when it hit it bounced off like he hit a wall the ant quickly charged at him trying to bite him with its mandibles

"Find if that doesn't work then try this!"

This time when Eredeti striked its head it went half way through slicing its brain in half and when he killed it he quickly absorbed its soul when he left he went through the back door just in case but when he exited he could see a pack of 5 more ants coming his way

"This can't be good"

Eredeti then quickly started to run because even though he was confident he could take down the 5 ants if more were to show up he didn't have much confidence in facing more than that

While Eredeti was running trying to make his way back to Kaneid and Steve he noticed more and more ants showing up

'Good thing I decided to run otherwise I really would have been in trouble'

Even though Eredeti was running at full speed it still would've taken a while till he reached to where Kaneid and Steve were before

After 30 minutes of running at top speed he had finally reach where Kaneid and Steve were however when he arrived he could they were also in a battle not with the ants but huge centipedes that would constantly go underground and jump up striking them constantly it looked like they had their hands full and he just led a small army of ants to them

"Kaneid, Steve run!"

When they heard Eredeti and had saw what was behind them they had no choice they ran towards Eredeti and they immediately started to run away from the small army of bugs

"Eredeti why did you bring them to us!" Steve said

"I didn't know you guys were fighting those giant centipedes!"

"It doesn't matter now does it, what does is that we need to get out of here, Oh the mighty Ablion give us speed to traverse through the lands Spodious!" Kaneid said

Once they felt the energy hit their legs they started to run even faster

"Where do we go!" Eredeti yelled

"To the mountains, if the beast and bugs were to fight the better it is for us and the solid ground should prevent the centipedes from attacking" Kaneid said

The trio then ran towards the mountain going through a forest and they could hear beast of all types but at the same time the bugs weren't slowing down at all until a large black wolf with yellow eyes appeared in front of them and behind it were a pack of 15 smaller versions of itself

The wolf then let out a howl trying to intimidate the humans in front of it however Kaneid had other plans

"Wings of Abilon take us away from these tainted lands"

Once Kaneid cast the spell he and the other two were teleported 200 meters behind the wolf and then the battle of the beast and bugs started however they weren't going to stick around to watch and quickly left

*Author's note think of the centipedes like the ice worms from below zero however much smaller and the length of 5 meters*
