Chapter 7 Ressurection

Kaneid was quickly running down the grassy hills he found himself in while looking at the map he could see that a town wasn't that far away only about 12 hours away so he quickly tried to find the closest road to his current location he then saw their was one about a hour due west

He quickly put the map back inside his pocket and traveled until he reached the road and luckily he didn't encounter much trouble on his way and once on the road he got the map out once again and quickly followed the way to the town

He never stopped and just kept walking until about 3 hours of constant traveling he saw that a man wearing a common mans clothes was resting on the side of the road by his carriage and had a fire going so he quickly walked over to him and said "excuse me good sir, My name is Kaneid and I was wandering if you would be so kind to let me ride with you when you depart"

"Ah Hello Mr. Kaneid my name is Steve, but before I consider your request may I know why you're out traveling so late?" Steve had many questions for this mysterious old man that appeared in the middle of the night although he was suspicious of the old man since he didn't know a thing about him or if he was a runaway criminal although he felt that he could win even if he did something with his old and weak build

"Oh yes I suppose I do look a little suspicious traveling all alone in the middle of the night, Well I am traveling from the neighboring town to see a relative who fell ill, it was very sudden so I am quite worried for them so I left as soon as I had collected all my belongings" Kaneid said this in a very clam and convincing manner so that Steve wouldn't be so tense and suspicious of him

"That is indeed a rather urgent situation since most people don't survive the plague in fact my own sister has fallen ill with the very same scourge that is haunting these lands"

Kaneid was surprised to hear a that a disease was running rampant in these lands in fact he was at a town not that long ago and never heard of such a disease outbreak 'The problems just keep stacking!'

"I am sorry to hear that" Kaneid said with a worried look on his face

"Thank you for your regards and I can see you are quite worried for your family as well"

"Indeed I am, so sir Steve when may we leave?"

"Drop the sir if you don't mind since you don't have to be so respectful towards me, I am but a simple farmer and we can leave by day break since the horses still need to rest you see"

"Thank you Steve for your hospitality"

"Don't worry about it Kaneid we all have to rely on each other in such hard times"

"Indeed we do"

Kaneid then sat down on the opposite side of the camp fire and set down his belongs beside of him and laid his back against a tree and took out his pipe and lit a small stick in the fire to light it and as he was sitting down he was getting into his thoughts

'What exactly is that boy? and what happened to him'

Kaneid then let out a sigh "Ahhh"

'This is more troublesome than I thought it was going to be, That young man is a talent that needs to be nurtured if he were to fall to the darkness inside of him I'm afraid not even the elven queen could do anything and it would add another dangerous foe to the Amanthel forces'

POV to Eredeti

'Resurrection you mean I'm not dead?' as he thought this his fear and anger slowly started to dissipate and disappear and as he looked around he noticed something, he wasn't alone this time, their was a string like object attached to him and it spread out like a spider web to smaller balls of light all of which were the same color as his

'What are those? Wrath please explain to me what those are, they look like the balls of light I absorbed before?'

'You are indeed correct what you absorbed was their souls when you absorb souls you create a soul link with theirs which creates a unbreakable connection and adds to your strength although the link is a one way link to where you absorb their powers and can increase theirs if needed' Wrath explained in a monotone voice

Once Eredeti heard this he looked at himself to see his soul was twice as big and taking a more humanoid shape although it is a humanoid shape it has many sharp point like its wearing armor so Eredeti asked wrath once again 'What is this?'

'Insufficient information'

'What come on!?'

Although Eredeti was made he decided to mess around and experiment on the souls he has he decided to try to increase the power of another soul but to his surprise his soul wasn't used to increase it

The soul he decided to empower was instead absorbing the other souls making them smaller while making it larger and it started to change shape he then decided to even out the power once more and all the souls were back to their original shape

He then tried to look into the souls and saw that although they were little floating balls they still had the characteristics of their original body the spiders still had the features of a spider the same with the goblin

so he decided to touch the souls and when he reached his hand inside of it he could see what appeared to be their memories

'Interesting this could be useful'

He then decided to look at the soul links and they looked like transparent veins all connected to him and he tried to empower another soul to test something and he saw that the veins passed the power through one another

He then thought 'What if I completely use up one?'

Eredeti then made one of the spiders soul move all of its power to another one and to his surprise when the soul was so small that it looked like it was about to disappear it was instead absorbed completely by the other soul

When Eredeti tried to separate the two he couldn't it was as if they were permanently combined confused he asked Wrath once agian 'Wrath what happend?'

'The soul was devoured by the other one permanently increasing its power and the soul that was devoured is now forever gone and its power absorbed by the other'

'Hmmm so the power in this space can never decrease nor increase without me absorbing more souls?'

'Correct'

'Hmmmm what's the use of this though if my power doesn't increase when I combine them?'

'The quantity may decrease but the quality vastly increases, However as you have stated previously the power remains the same'

'That doesn't really answer my question let me rephrase that, so what do I get out of doing this?'

'Insufficient Information'

'Of course theirs not enough information'

Erdeti then decided to mess around with the souls again viewing all the memories he could to pass time and as he was viewing it he ran across the goblins memories and what he saw was really disturbing news for him because the place he stayed at in the forest wasn't that far away from a small encampment of trolls, orcs and goblins

'I should probably tell Kaneid about this once I get out of here'

Once he was through with looking through all the memories he learned that the spiders served their mother known as the queen and she was massive and easily the size of a house but what was confusing is that she lived in a cave at the very edge of the continent and for some reason commanded her brood to look for something

And while the small encampment of Trolls, Orcs and Goblins looked intimidating they were actually just a small squad who often fought amongst themselves and were from a bigger army in the Emanthel region and were also sent to look for something

'Whatever their trying to find must be something important'

'Wrath how much time till I'm out of this darkness'

'Approximately 13 hours and 43 minutes'

'Damn that's to long'

Although in reality it wasn't that long of a time all he could do was just float and look at the vast dark and empty space so it felt more like 13 days that hours he couldn't even sleep to past the time either so he just had to stare

POV switch Kaneid

Once the sun hit Kaneids face he woke up immediately impatient for what was to come once he stood up from his spot by the tree he grabbed his stuff and drunk some water from his canteen he then went up to Steve shaking his shoulder waking him

"HMmm Im awake!?"

Steve immediately stood up and went to were the horses were rest to see them up and eating he then tied the to horses with a rope and attached them to the carriage he then looked over to Kaneid and said

"Alright I'm ready, you can sit on the back if you need anything ask me"

"Once again thank you Steve for your Hospitality"

"Theirs no need for thanks we are going the same way anyways its not that big of a deal"

Kaneid then hopped onto the back of the carriage and took another look at the map and saw that by carriage they should arrive in about half the time, He put the map back in his bag and took out his pipe once more while holding onto a piece of Eredeti's torn shirt
