The Seeker System

After the 'Century of Phenomena', humanity had declined by more than two thirds it's population and eventually pushed back into 'Zones' where they were forced to live in 'District Cities'. The world outside the zones had become desolate wastelands inhospitable for them. The 'Century of Phenomena' brought plagues and destruction. Turning most plants and animals into horrid mutant beasts, unleashing monstrous creatures from 'Gates', and turning undead, the fallen population of humanity. But, it also brought hope for the survivors to endure the warped landscape. It brought forth an explosive advancement in technology and filled the earth with magic. Humans even experienced 'Evolutions' only seen in fantasy. It took half a century before that Hell unleashed and forced humans back. Now, evolved/awakened humans are known as 'Seekers' that delve into the wastelands within their zones to scrounge for treasures, artifacts, and anything useful. They also clear 'Gates' to procure the same. Life within the 'District Cities' was almost the same as before the Phenomena. Seekers are the heroes of society, and hold much influence. Connor W. Michael is one such Seeker. But, he is the weakest to ever awaken. Abused as a lowly 'Porter', he endures things worse than any mutant, monster. or zombie... Human Cruelty. But this is his beginning, the beginning of his journey from The Weakest to The Strongest.

Wrath

Connor was attacking Mars furiously, while Mars was easily dodging around him as if dancing. Connor was throwing punches, kicks, knees, elbows, and even incorporated scratching and piercing attacks.

"Truly, you didn't come into this fight so half heartedly right? Where's all the energy your boasting spoke of?" Mars jeered.

"Don't you worry, I'll be wiping that arrogant attitude look off your ugly wretch of a face!" Connor jumped up and tried to kick the god in the face, only to be dodged. Connor spun, landed and jumped back in with a right straight. Mars swatted the punch away.

Connor spun with a roundhouse, only to be dodged again. He spun from the momentum he carried and he slammed his foot down, cracking the marble underneath him. This was noticed by Mars.

'He's getting faster and stronger as this drags on. I should start taking this a little more seriously.'

"I suppose that'll do for a warm up! I hope you can withstand my attacks!" Mars laughed.

"I'm only just getting started!" Connor roared as he flew towards Mars with an explosive launch. Mars caught Connors fist and buried his own under Connors ribs. Connor exhaled blood as he was sent into a pillar. Connor laid there staring at the white featureless sky, attempting to get air.

*Physical world same moment*

Connor had suddenly stopped breathing, alarming Brian.

"Breathe!" Brian exclaimed, waking everyone.

"What happened?" Mina rushed over.

"I don't know, he just spewed blood and stopped breathing all of a sudden!" Brian explained. Robert was clenching his fists, cursing himself for not being able to help.

*Realm of the gods*

"Is that all you got? This is why you're a mere mortal. You're still trying to breathe in a realm without air." Mars remarked. Connor stared angrily at the god standing above him. But, using that information, his mind focused itself and forced his lungs to work, somehow, the feeling of breath returned and Connor jumped up and tried to attack Mars once again. Mars caught his arm again and brought his knee up into Connors chest.

It hurt, it get real, but Connors mind reminded focused on the breathing of his physical body and ignored the attacks he was receiving from the god. Mars tossed Connor away and turned towards him again. Connor stood up and readied himself.

"You learn fast, I'll praise you on that. But, you are still but a mere mortal." Mars remarked. Connor remained silent. Half of his body had formed scales, and a golden horn protruded from the left side of his head. His left eye was all black save for the cool ice blue iris. The scales a dark purple.

"Hahaha! Perhaps more like an abomination? What a horrid look you have now!" Mars laughed. Morta shifted slightly.

"He's turning into an evil dragon. I can feel both the black blood and Necromancer powers joining together to give birth to a calamity of unprecedented proportions." Morta commented.

"That would be entertaining." Mercury responded.

"Hah, no. Not him. Just watch, that boy has no intention of handing himself over to such a situation willingly. I'm willing to bet he'll instead find some unique way to use that power." Invidia sighed and stated confidently.

Connor looked at his left arm curiously. A malicious smile formed on his lips. He walked over to a pillar and grabbed it with his left hand, while staring at Mars with an evil smile.

"Are you taking a break? Tired already?" Mars jeered. Connor tensed all his muscles, and then lifted with all his strength, the marble floor underneath him exploded from the force, and the pillar lifted from the floor. One handedly, Connor wielded a twenty foot long, five foot thick pillar of marble.

"Like I said, I'm just getting started!" Connor stated as he ran forward and swung the pillar with all his might at Mars. Mars smiled in amusement. He spun and met the pillar with his fist, shattering it to literal dust. While he was distracted, Connor had used that moment to rush forward, he appeared from the dust, his arm drawn back fully, and then threw it forward with everyone of strength he could muster, and finally landed a hit on Mars, directly in the left flank.

It resounded with a loud clang and crack as bone shattered against a gods armor. Mars glanced down with an amused look as he returned the favor, and sent Connor flying. Connor flipped and slammed his drogonified hand into the marble floor, and then slammed his feet down, stopping the momentum.

Connor remained hunched over, his entire body straining as wings sprouted from his back, and when he stood up, the only human feature remaining was his right eye. He looked up and roared to the sky.

*Physical World same time*

Connors body had sat up suddenly, purple leathery and scaled wings burst from his back, while two golden horns protruded from his head.

"Facinating!" Brian leaned closer. Connors head snapped to look Brian dead in the eyes, one eye was entirely black while the other was a normal white, both were rolled back. Connors mouth opened and let out a roar that was neither human nor dragon.

"We should move! Now!" Brian snatched Ivory, while Mina and Sarah took Robert and ran away from Connor. In response to Connors roar, the roar of the black dragon called back. Connor burst from the building, crouched down and rocketed into the air explosively.

"He's still unconscious, but his body is moving itself... why?" Brian asked.

"You're the doctor, don't ask us." Robert replied.

Connor flew in the direction of the Black dragon. The black dragon watched as the puny creature approached. It sat upon the organizations building, as if guarding it.

Connor hovered in front of the dragon, pure wrath emanating from him.

"Are you looking to fight hum... no, you're neither human nor dragon. Your heart is of a dragon, but your flesh reeks of evil, undead and human. What abominable hole did you crawl from?" The black dragon spoke. Connor howled in response.

"I see, you have no will at the moment. Very well, I shall oblige you. Since you cannot match me in size, I shall instead shrink to yours." The black dragon mused as it shrank down and took the same mutated humanoid form. He had long black hair that flowed elegantly to the middle of his back and his eyes were a violent red that glowed. Three obsidian horns protruded from his, two short ones on the sides and one long one in the middle. His wings were the same obsidian black.

He flew down and entered the building and stripped the clothes from one of the dead men that came with Sarah. He left himself topless, as a shirt wasn't needed.

"I thank you for your patience. Now, come hatchling." He beckoned to Connor.
