Chapter 303: Rainy night

Daisy was feeling a tingling sensation with Raymond's hand around her shoulder.

She looked up at him, staring, into his eyes. Raymond wanted to talk when his eyes met with hers.

"Move it." Mr Josh growled, glaring at them. He was getting drenched in the rain, and they were lost in each other's eyes.

"Eh hem." He cleared his throat, jolting them back to reality.

Raymond started leading Daisy to his car, trying his best not to get her soaked in the rain.

Mr Josh waited for them to get into the car before running to the other side of the car, putting his umbrella beside him and driving off.

Daisy was in the back seat, trying her best not to look at Raymond. She was at the extreme end of the chair.

"How is Ryan?" Raymond asked, trying to start a conversation.

She turned to look at him.

"He is fine," she muttered. Her phone started ringing. It was a call from Gwen.

"Hello." She muttered, putting the phone in her ear.

"Mommy, when are you coming home? It's raining cats and dogs." Ryan inquired.

"I am on my way home," Daisy mumbled, looking outside the window. The rain was very heavy; she could barely see anything, even the street lights.

"Come and eat your food." Daisy heard her mom's voice from the background.

"Ryan, Go and eat; don't wait for me," Daisy stated.

"But mommy, I am used to eating with you." he complained.

"Go and eat. Stop being a stubborn boy. Don't you eat at school without me?" Daisy scolded.

Raymond was just glancing at her, lost in thought, wondering why he was so attracted to her that he nearly forgot he was married.

The car came to a halt in the middle of the road.

"What is the matter?" Raymond inquired.

"I don't know, you will go check it out." Mr Josh muttered, as he grabbed the umbrella and scurried out of the car.

He opened the fuel tank and found out that it was empty.

"Fuck!" he cursed, kicking the car.

"Hey! Do you want to buy a new car?" Raymond scolded.

Mr Josh smiled nervously and got into the car. He turned back and stared at Raymond and Daisy.

"The fuel tank is empty and I forgot to buy extra." He muttered, with his lips trembling.

"How can you be so careless? How do you expect us to go home now?" Daisy asked angrily.

"How far is the filling station from here?" Raymond inquired.

"About 100 kilometers away." Mr Josh replied.

"It seems we have to walk the remaining distance," Raymond muttered, staring at Daisy, who gulped.

"But my house is extremely far from here," Daisy grumbled.

"You can come with us and stay in our guest house today." Raymond beamed.

Daisy battled her lashes. Raymond wanted her to go to his house, where everyone would recognize her.

"I will just walk in the rain," she muttered, trying to open the car. Raymond held her hand. She quickly yanked her hand from his grip.

"You can't do that. You will catch a cold," Raymond stated.
