Chapter 289: Job

Author's POV 

"But you are his assistant, you are always with him." Daisy muttered.

"What are you doing here?" Gwen inquired.

"I wanted to ask that question. What are the both of you doing here?" Daisy asked bluntly.

"I am here with him. He wants to give me a job here." Gwen beamed.

"A job? How can you do that?" Daisy inquired, staring at Mr Josh.

"This is my boss's company, I heard there is a job vacancy here." Mr Josh stated. 

"I just started working here today." Daisy muttered.

"Who do you work for?" Mr Josh inquired.

"Mr Clinton." She replied. His jaw dropped as he moved closer to her.

"Are you okay?" He asked softly.

"Why are you asking?" Daisy asked, raising an eyebrow.

"I heard he is strict and overworks his employees." Mr Josh muttered.

"That's just a rumor, he is nothing like that." Daisy scoffed.

"Okay, if you say so." Mr Josh muttered and turned to Gwen.

"I think Daisy has already gotten the job," he declared. Gwen screwed up her face.

"So you just brought me here for nothing? I am not going on a date with you." Gwen declared, walking towards the entrance of the company.

"Wait, I can look for another job for you." Mr Josh stated, running after her.

Daisy was stunned as she watched them go.

"Does this mean they are both together." She muttered to herself as she walked into the office.

Gwen stood in front of Mr Josh's car.

"For your information, I was not your blind date, Daisy was." Gwen muttered.

"You mean that, Daisy?" Mr Josh inquired.

"Yes, how many Daisys do you know?" She shrugged.

"What's your name then?" Mr Josh inquired. 

"I won't tell you." She muttered, looking away.

"Stop playing hard to get. I don't care if you are not my blind date. To me, you will always be the woman in my heart." Mr Josh beamed, touching his chest. Gwen started coughing.

He opened his car and took out a bottle of water and handed it to her. She started drinking it.

"You are the reason I left the office without telling my boss." Mr Josh stated as his phone started ringing. He brought out his phone and realized that it was Raymond calling.

"You see," he stated, showing Gwen the screen of his phone.

"Why don't you pick it up?" Gwen muttered.

"He will scold me." Mr Josh muttered.

"I was acting childish. I am sorry. I was just angry that I didn't get the job." She muttered, looking down.

"Don't worry, I will look for another job for you in our main branch." Mr Josh assured.

"It's okay, you have done enough for me. I will think of something." She muttered.

"I want to help you, if you don't mind, I would like to marry you." He muttered.

"Hahaha, marry? Do you know what marriage is?" Gwen scoffed.

"I know I am rushing things, but I really like you." He muttered.

"You have to win me over. Just take me home." She stated.
