Chapter 208: Runaway partner

She opened the door and started running to the entrance of the house at a great speed. She didn’t look back to see if anyone was trailing her or not. The only thing that was on her mind was to escape.

She didn’t look ahead as he bumped into someone. She gulped and looked up at the person. it was Richard.

"Why are you in a hurry?" he asked bluntly.

"I am late for work." She said, and she started running away.

"I thought you had stopped work!!" he yelled but she didn’t reply.

She stood in the middle of the road, waving her hand in the air for a taxi to stop. After standing for some minutes, a taxi stopped in front of her. She quickly entered the taxi.

"Where to miss?" the driver inquired.

"Go! Go! I will tell you, all that was on her mind was to get away from the house as fast as possible." The driver stepped on the gas and drove off.

Daisy arrived in front of her house. She walked weakly to the entrance of the house and opened the door.

Mrs. Louis approached her.

"What is wrong, darling?" she asked as she saw the look on Daisy's face.

Daisy didn’t respond. She was walking toward the couch.

"What is wrong with you? Look at your face." Mrs. Louis muttered, worriedly hovering around her.

"Mom!!" she yelled, with her eyes filled with tears ready to come out.

"What Daisy?" she asked. Daisy drew her in closer and hugged her tighter, sobbing on her shoulder. Mrs. Louis didn’t know why she was crying, but she started stroking her back to console her, but Daisy was still crying with her hot tears landing on her dress.

"Talk to me, darling, if you don’t talk, how will I know what’s wrong with you?" Mrs. Louis muttered as Daisy held her tightly, sobbing hard.

Mrs. Louis had never seen Daisy like this. She was so broken and defeated, which made her helpless.

They stood like that for a minute or two, till Daisy broke the hug and looked at her in the eyes.

She fell onto the couch, putting her hand on her face. The cheque fell from her hand. Mrs. Louis opened her eyes so wide that they nearly fell out of their sockets as she looked at the money on the cheque.

"Why are you crying Daisy, we are rich!!" she beamed, looking at the cheque with a smile on her face.

Daisy looked at her and snatched the cheque from her.

"We are rich and I have lost my dignity." She mumbled.

"What do you mean by your dignity?" Mrs. Louis asked as she sat beside her on the couch, stroking her hair.

"The billionaire, raped me, mom." She muttered and broke into tears. Mrs. Louis hugged her.

"Why will he rape you? what did you do? Did you try to seduce you?" she asked flatly.

"I didn’t, I think he was drunk. he forced himself on me, he was a monster in bed." She muttered.
