Chapter 11(The Privileges)

They was an uproar and commotion in the board room for it was a jaw dropping moment as everyone stood and watch in awe. They were surely taken unaware. They plots to succeed the old man was now fading away.

"Is this a joke?" one of them asked rhetorically with a confused look.

"This is amazing" another replied

"The old man still got it" a lady commented as she chuckles.

"This is very absurd how are we even sure that the boy is his family" the Secretary general spoke to his colleague near him

"Man are you kidding me right now? the old man can literally put anyone whether family or not".

The Secretary general, Dr Cole was visibly annoyed and enraged. He has set his eye on the position of heading the company ever since it became a fact that they was no one to succeed Mr Kane.

He has made a lot self improvement and sacrifices in other to impress the old man but now all his efforts is futile.

He wasn't really the only one disappointed even others too. The idea of heading the largest organization in the country brought a healthy competition among this top folks.

Nathan stood confidently as he watches they reaction. No one saw it coming, a heir, a boy that is barely twenty two.

Nathan was intimated into the business,the dos and don'ts. It was a hectic task but Nathan is a smart fella and he is also a fast learner. He was able to grasp every possible lesson.

"Young master, your uncle will like to see you " Mr Dwayne spoke.

"Ok where is he?" Nathan asked with aura of authority.

"In his chamber" he replied as he bowed to leave.

Mr Dwayne is Mr Kane personal and must trusted aide. His work in the Kanes consortium is very undefined. He feel in into any possible work or activity he was deemed to do

He is the longest serving staff in the Kanes family.

Nathan still on his night wear freshened up and headed to his uncle's chamber.

He knocked and was welcomed in. His uncle was busy reading newspaper coupled with a creamy cup of tea that he sips passionately at every few minutes interval.

It was his usual morning routine before indulging himself into some healthy exercises.

"Good morning sir" Nathan greeted as he bows

"Morning my son, how was your night sleep? is your sleep nemesis still disturbing you?"

"Is getting better sir all thanks to doc." he chipped in with a faint smile.

His uncle was referring to his persistent nightmares. Since his recovery from the devastating coma he has been hunted by his last moments with Ethan and Luiz every time that he had his eyes closed.

So far his therapist has done a great of work since it is getting better.

"Have a sit" as he points to a luxurious sofa just opposite where he sat.

His uncle dropped his newspaper and sipped his creamy coffee. He then cleared his throat and continued

"Son it have been almost a year since your incident. You must understand that you have so much task on you now".

"You are no longer just an ordinary individual. You are now the most important person in the country."

He observed Nathan who listens with rapt attention. Satisfied with his keen attention he continued

"As you head back to school you must be careful for you are no longer just a student. As you can see I am now wearing off and getting very old, I can't keep up with the duties and stress of the Family business alone".

"As you return to school you will be properly equipped with everything"

"You will be given $200 billion for your subsequent upkeep and maintenance " his uncle voiced with command.

This shocked Nathan, he must be dreaming. He opened his mouth and eyes as he continually muttered the amount in a low tone.

His Uncle watched and smiled. he continued

"As a Kane luxury items should not move you for this are one of the many things that comes with being a Kane".

"Mr Dwayne will help you to select any cars of your choice feel free whether three, four or any numbers you need ". He added as he used his fingers to gesture the numbers.

"Also my Dwayne will be under your service. He is a trusted fellow, feel free to relate anything that bothers him to you".

Nathan gaped like a lizard, he was astonished and just couldn't believe it.

He knew that his life will never be the same when he found out about his origin but he never expected it to come with such huge benefits. He was surely leaving in a wish world.

He was lead to the Garage by Mr Dwayne on the order of Mr Kane .

On reaching there he wasn't really sure of the cars he will like to have because all were something to behold.

The Garage houses the most expensive and most sought out for cars. Both Vintage and Contemporary cars with varying styles and designs.

The Kanes have one of the continent Automobile industry that is accorded with credit of the production of the most classic and exquisite cars.

After going through the various sections of the Garage he was able to pick four cars that he felt suit his taste.

The four cars; A Rolls-Royce, a Bugatti brand, Ferrari brand and Lamborghini brand all painted in black.

Black is Nathan's favorite color he always dream of having his cars black.

Mr Dwayne suggested for customisation to his own taste.

although he was already in love with the cars he couldn't help but agree to Mr Dwayne suggestion.

He is now few days from going back to school. He couldn't help but imagine the looks and reactions of the so called rich students when he surely appear.

He couldn't wait for he has been through a lot, from his so called family, from Queens, his fellow students, lecturers and bosses but now all is about to change.
