Chapter 04 - Festival with the Quints 1

"Let's enjoy the festival!" Yotsuba declared with a smile on her face.

"Uhn!" Raiha responded happily.

"What time do the fireworks start and end at?" Nino asked.

"From 7pm to 8pm." Miku replied.

"It's still two hours away. I wanna visit the food stalls." Itsuki said as stars appeared in her her eyes.

"Uesugi-san! Hurry up, hurry up!" Yotsuba said.

Fuutarou stares at them, amused. But didn't join them.

"You should join them you know, Fuutarou-kun." A person behind Fuutarou said as it moved close to him.

"I was waiting for you, Ichika." Fuutarou said as he turned around. He saw Ichika who was wearing a Kimono. Her Kimono's colors are orange, yellow and blue, separated by white thin lines.

Fuutarou, was stunned seeing her. Ichika noticed this and grinned.

"Like what you see?" Ichika asked as she went close to Fuutarou.

Fuutarou, who heard what she said shook his head and came near her ears and whispered, "I like everything about you." Fuutarou then turned his back and followed the other Quints and his little sister.

"F-FUUTAROU-KUN?!" Ichika exclaimed and was red but her shouting got the other people look at her. Ichika who noticed their gaze, hung her head in shame and quickly followed Fuutarou.

"Onii-chan! Look, look!" Raiha said as she pulled her brother's clothes to get his attention, " Yotsuba-san caught it for me!"

Fuutarou looked at what his little sister was holding and saw two plastic bags with fishes in it.

"That's a lot Raiha, did you say thanks to Yotsuba?" Fuutarou said as he took the fishes that his sister was holding.

"Thank you, Yotsuba-san!" Raiha said and hugged Yotsuba, "I really like you!"

Yotsuba, who was hugged was overwhelmed by emotions as her mouth turned into 'へ'.

"Raiha-chan you're so cute. I wish you were my sister!" Yotsuba said as she rubbed her cheeks against Raiha's, "If I marry Uesugi-san, wouldn't she be my sister..."

"Wha-?! I'll be the one to marry Fuu-kun!" Nino said and hugged Fuutarou's arm. But her sudden movement made Fuutarou stumble and fell into Miku. Fortunately, Miku was sturdy to break his fall. Fuutarou's arm was on Miku and his mouth near her ears.

"Sorry, Miku." Fuutarou said as he help himself get up.

"Oh... It ok." Miku replied as her was red andshe was frozen in place when she felt Fuutarou's hot breath on her ears.

"Raiha, hold onto my hand." Fuutarou said as he looked at his sister.

"Ok!" Raiha replied and put her hand on his hand and held it tightly.

"Let's find a place where we can watch the fireworks." Fuutarou told the Quints.

"There's no need for that Fuu-kun! I paid a store's rooftop so we can watch the fireworks there!" Nino proudly said.

"Good job, Nino." Fuutarou said as he rewarded Nino with a path on the head.

"Ehehe..." Nino embarrassedly said as she enjoyed her reward.

The other Quints saw this and pouted. But Itsuki suddenly remarked.

"Ah! We haven't bought that!"

"Do you mean that thing?"

"I really wanted to eat it."

"Do any of the stores sell it..."

"What do you guys want?"

"What is it?"

"Fried fish cake."

"Yakisoba."

"Shaved ice."

"Chocolate banana."

"Let's eat all of themmm!"

"Are you guys really quintuplets?"

"I can't believe that store owner said that Ichika was so cute so she was given more discounts! I wasn't even given anything! We look alike!" Itsuki said as she pouts.

"Come on, cheer up." Ichika said as she sweatdropped at her sister.

"Everlasting story of the Quintuplets..."

"Come on, eat this and cheer up."

"Raiha, let's play Quoits next!

"I want to play DS."

"YOU GUYS ARE MOVING SLOWLY!!" Nino shouted.

"Nino seems really excited... Actually you five are excited today." Fuutarou said.

"...It's the memory we share with our mom. Mother really like fireworks so she took us to this every year. Since mom has passed, every year we still come and watch it." Miku smiles and continues, "That's what it means for us."

'I see, so that's why they're all excited for today.'Fuutarou thoughts and smiles.

{Sorry for making you wait for so long. The fireworks display will start in a few minutes.}

When the people heard about the announcement they started to quicken their pace and head for the place where they can watch the fireworks.

"Where will the fireworks get set off at?"

"It hurts..."

"Who stepped on my foot."

"Wait... where is everyone!? Yotsuba! Ichika! Itsuki! Miku! Fuu-kun..." Nino said as she lost hope but it quickly disappeared as Fuutarou called out to her.

"Nino! Hold on!" Fuutarou said as he grabbed Nino. Nino looked at Fuutarou as her heart beat fast.

"Thank you, Fuu-kun."

"Come on, let's go to the store you booked."

"Hmm." Nino let out a cute voice as she grabbed his arm and hugged it.

"It's here, Fuu-kun." Nino said as she hurried up, "This store's rooftop, I'm sure that everyone is there!"

But when they finally got up, a firework exploded in the air.

"Oh." Nino said as she tears formed on her eyes, "I'm... I'm sorry Fuu-kun, I just now remembered that only I know this place's address."

"Shhh... Don't cry Nino, I'm sure that they will come." Fuutarou comforted Nino. Suddenly, Nino's phone rang. Nino wiped her tears and answered the call.

"Yotsuba, are you with Fuu-kun's sister? The fireworks have started where are you?"

-Me and Raiha-chan are at the clock's base.-

"Okay, wait for me there, I'm coming!" Nino said. She then looked at Fuutarou, "Fuu-kun, please."

"Got it Nino." Fuutarou said as and used his phone to call the Quints. But as he was about to, he spotted Ichika in the crowd, "Isn't that Ichika, Nino?"

"What! Yeah! That's Ichika. But why didn't she answer her phone?" Nino replied.

"Maybe she doesn't know?" Fuutarou said as he looked at Nino. Who was staring at Ichika, "I'll bring her here." Fuutarou continued as ge started to go down.

"Please, Fuu-kun."

As Fuutarou looked at the crowd he finally spotted Ichika and went near her.

"Ichika." Fuutarou called out to her.

"I'll call you later." Ichika muttered and it looks like she was talking to someone on the phone.

"Come on, Nino's waiting at the store." Fuutarou said as he tried to grab her but was stopped by someone he was familiar with.

"Fuutarou? Is that you?" A masculine voice said as he grabbed Fuutarou's arm.

"Eh? Oda-san?" Fuutarou uttered as he was surprised that he met a familiar face here.

"It really is you." The voice named Oda said as he smiles, "It's been a while since you've your taken a break. Do you want to come back?"

"Eh? Oda-san you know Fuutarou-kun?" Ichika who was also surprised, asked.

"Of course, he's Kintarou." Oda replied

"EH!? Isn't he the famous actor who took a break because he wants to focus on school!?" Ichika exclaimed as she finally realized who was her favorite actor is. She also looked at Fuutarou and imagined Kintarou. She couldn't help but see the resemblance of the two.

Fuutarou who noticed her stare looked away as his secret identity was revealed.

"That's right but how do you know each other?" Oda asked.

"She's my tutee." Fuutarou replied.

"He's my tutor." Ichika answered.

"Oh so that's how it was." Oda said as he strokes his non-existent beard like a sect elder.

"Oda-san." Fuutarou said.

"Hmm? What is it Fuutarou?"

"How do you know Ichika?" Fuutarou asked.

"I'm glad you asked." Oda said as he put a little show, "Nakano Ichika, future no.1 actress!"

Ichika who was the center of Oda's little show blushed hard.

"He? Future no.1 actress huh?" Fuutarou chuckles.

"D-Don't laugh!" Ichika hung her head in shame. Which made Fuutarou laugh harder.

"So do you want to join us, Fuutarou?" Oda asked as he put on a serious attitude.

"Oh? There's auditions tonight?" Fuutarou asked a question in reply to another question.

"Yes. So do you want to? I'm sure Ichika will be grateful if her senpai gives her advice." Oda said.

"Can you wait, Oda-san? I'll talk to her a bit."

"Sure." Oda said as he left.

Fuutarou is now facing Ichika as latter does the same.

"Does your siste-" Fuutarou was cut off by Ichika.

"They don't." Ichika replied with a straight face.

"Are you sure about this? What about your sisters, waiting to watch the fireworks with you."

"Please don't stop me, Fuutarou-kun."

"I'm not stopping you Ichika, it's just that your sister, Miku told me about why you guys watch the fireworks."

"I'm sure it will be fine if it's just this year."

Fuutarou stared at Ichika, then let out a sigh and said, "I can't stop you, can't I?"

"Thank you, Fuutarou-kun." Ichika said as she smiled.

"I'm gonna find your sisters, tell Oda-san that I'll come with you on the auditions." Fuutarou turned around and started to walk.

"I will!" Ichika replied and went the the place where Oda is.

After contacting Nino, it seems that only Miku was the only missing Quint.

Fuutarou called her and found her. He saw that Miku's foot was stepped on and couldn't walk. So he carried Miku to the place where Nino told him. On the way, they were interviewed if they're a couple to which Fuutarou they're not but good friends. The interviewer thanked Fuutarou for his answers and looked around for a real couple.

After Fuutarou carried Miku to the store's rooftop. He made an excuse that he still couldn't find Ichika and slip away. Nino found this suspicious but ignored it as she and her sisters have to watch the fireworks together.

After slipping away, Fuutarou went to the meeting place. He entered the car and Oda drove away. Fuutarou asked for the script. Ichika gave him the script for the act that she needs to perform. The script was short. Fuutarou memorized and practiced in just a few minutes to which Ichika was amazed. But she remembered that he's a professional actor.

They finally arrived and the auditions was about to close but they made it on time.

1697 words. Fuutarou's secret job was finally revealed! Though I don't think that you guys found it hard to guess as I left hints in the past chapters. Most of this are based on the manga but the part where Fuutarou and Oda interacted are mine. The wiki is also very useful in this situations.

Sorry for the short chapter. The thing is, motivation isn't really the problem. But resources and time is. I use mobile data to access the internet, ₱99 is 10 GB load, and it's 2$. Sometimes I use ₱199 and it's 25 GB which is 4$.

For time, Saturdays and Sundays are the only days I'm available. My classes are in the afternoon, from 12:40 pm to 7:00 pm. After going home, my mind is too tired to think of anything. Sometimes I even accidentally fall asleep.

But I have to stay strong. We're already 6k views on Webnovel, and it's 0.6% of my 1 mil target. Cause If I'm able to start pa-treon, I can just do more of my writing. Heck if I receive like 50$ a month I might drop out of school and just focus on writing. Which is unlikely not because of 50$ a month which is ₱2500 but my parents will never allow me to quit school. Also right now I'm enjoying writing. Writing and reading are just a great way to escape reality.
