Chapter 05 - Festival with the Quints 2

Fuutarou and Ichika got off the car. They hurried as the auditions are about to close. The act that they would perform is a scene where a girl confesses to her childhood friend. Ichika found herself blushing as the act looked like she was about to confess to Fuutarou. She took a glimpse on Fuutarou and noticed the faint blush on his cheeks. She stared at him and smiled. Her mind brimming of confidence and pulled Fuutarou in front of the judges.

Ichika who's playing as 'Izumi' turned her back to Fuutarou who was playing as 'Kazumi'.

"Izumi-chan? Why did you call me here?"

"I want to tell you something, Kazumi-kun."

"Hmm? What is it, Izumi-chan?"

"Do you... Remember the promise we made?" Izumi asked, "The promise we made when we were just at primary school?"

"What promise?"

"Please don't joke like that, Kazumi-kun." Izumi said as she let out a dry laugh.

"I'm sorry, Izumi-chan. I really can't remember."

"You said you wouldn't forget! You said that you will always remember the promise we made. You didn't forget... Right?" Izumi said while tearing up.

"..." Seeing that he didn't respond, she went up to him and punched his chest as tears fall on her eyes.

"You promised before Me and my Family moved away, that once we reunited, you and I will tell each other our feelings on the day of the festival! Was all of that a lie?!" Izumi sunk her head on his chest while sobbing, "When you made that promise I was really happy! I started to love you ever since that day... Say something you bastard!"

"I'm sorry..." Kazumi said and when Izumi heard that, she finally accepted the fact that he doesn't remember but Kazumi brought her into his embrace and made her face look at him. Kazumi wiped the tears on Izumi's face and said, "... I'm sorry that my prank affected you that much."

"Wha-? Prank?" Izumi asked in confusion but was replaced with anger, "You mean you didn't really forget?!", Izumi asked with a glare and if glares could kill, Kazumi would be already dead.

"I really didn't, Izumi-chan. Didn't I say that I wouldn't forget? Is your trust on me so low?" Kazumi answered while sounding hurt.

"Hmmp!" Izumi tried to escape from Kazumi's embrace but the key word is 'tried'. Izumi failed as Kazumi tightly held her in his arms, "Let me go!" Izumi shouted.

"I can't do that. Not after you told me how you felt about me."

Izumi who heard his statement stopped wriggling out of his embrace and stood confused but then realized what he meant as she blushed hard and hung her head in embarrassment.

"I really love you Izumi-chan. Even more than you do to me. Ever since you left, I was very lonely. I missed you, how about you, Izumi-chan?" The boy told the girl directly to her ears which fueled the blush on the girl's face.

"I-I missed you t-too." Replied Izumi who had a thought as Ichika at the same time 'Oh Kami... I really love him...', Izumi sunk her head on his chest to hide her blush.

Actually what Fuutarou who plays as Kazumi had said wasn't in the script. The script only made the female lead have the spotlight and disregarded its partner. Fuutarou always believe that a star alone shines brightly, but if two stars supported each other, only then the stars will shine at their brightest.

Ichika noticed the change in the script but paid no heed to it as she found the change pleasant. She also composed herself as she have to continue the act she and Fuutarou have to finish.

Kazumi put her hand on Izumi's face as he touched her lovingly, "I love you, Izumi."

Izumi smiled as she stared onto Kazumi's eyes as he did the same, "I love you too, Kazumi."

As the two unknowingly made their true feelings come out, time stopped for the pboth of them. Fuutarou gazed on Ichika's eyes and held her hands. Ichika closed her eyes shut and let her instincts guide her. Fuutarou saw this, did not disappoint Ichika. He shut his eyes and closed the gap. Ichika whose eyes were closed, felt his lips touch hers. Both of them felt the kiss intoxicating as they continued to kiss each other until they're out of breath. The two separated and averted their eyes while blushing but still held each other's hand.

When the two basked on the feeling of their first kiss, the judges was astounded by what just happened. None of them expected that two of the contestants to have such intimacy together. Nonetheless, they have to give it to them. In their observations, the girl had talent in acting. Her acting were full of life, just like the summer sun gracing the plants with its rays. The boy's acting was like a sunflower, who follows the sun whatever time of the day, while showing its beauty without outshining the sun.

The other contestants found their acting wonderful like something that came out of a fairytale. One of the female contestant found it cute and started cheering and clapping. The contestants one by one followed suit.

Fuutarou and Ichika who heard of their cheering and clapping started to feel awkward but thanked them nonetheless.

Oda who was watching nearby, came near them and congratulated them for their performance. He also asked if the two of them are finally a couple to which the two said nothing as a response. Oda shrugged his shoulders at their actions and said nothing.

Fuutarou and Ichika talked silently after the kiss. Ichika asked Fuutarou to hide this from her sisters and that they would talk about this on a later date. For now, the two had to return to their sisters.

After Oda took them near the site of the festival and left, Fuutarou and Ichika hurried to their sisters.

Once Fuutarou and Ichika arrived, Ichika was in shocked as she found her sisters lighting up some handheld fireworks.

"Ah, Ichika and Uesugi-san are here." The over bubbly quint said

"Hello, Yotsuba, Nino, Miku, Itsuki." Fuutarou said as he looked around and saw his sister sleeping on a bench, "You received my message?"

"Yup! Everything is all set up, Uesugi-san. We couldn't hold back so we ended up staring early." Yotsuba said.

"These don't compare to the rocket fireworks though." The social butterfly said.

"Well it's a good thing Yotsuba bought them." Itsuki added as she tried to light her handheld firework but failed miserably, "Mouu! Why doesn't it work!"

"Here." Miku gave Itsuki another firework.

"Thank you, Miku." Itsuki thanked Miku and finally set the firework on fire, "Come on, Ichika! This is fun!"

"Itsuki..."

"Yotsuba, can you bring the fireworks over here?" Itsuki asked.

"Hai!" Yotsuba said as she passed the box of fireworks to her sister.

"Here." Itsuki have her sisters and Fuutarou a firework.

"Thank you, Miku

"Everyone! I'm sorry. Things turned out like this because I went off my own... I'm really sorry about this." Ichika apologized and bowed to her sisters and Fuutarou

"There's no such need for an apology." Itsuki said.

"I'm sure you already reflected on it." Miku stated.

"That's fine, Ichika!" Yotsuba added.

"I'll say!" Nino said as looked at her sister, harshly, "Why didn't you called us? Part of the blame falls on you because of what happened this time." But then Nino's gaze softened, "But it was also my fault for forgetting to tell everyone where to meet up."

At this, Ichika made her head rise and looked at Nino.

"And I'm fed up with my poor sense of direction getting better of me." Itsuki said.

"I have a lot of screw ups this time around." Miku stated.

"I was too focused on checking out the stalls, hehe." Yotsuba said as she scratched her head.

"You guys..."

"Here, your fireworks."

"Mom often said..."

"That if one of us screws up, the the five of us would overcome it together..."

"If something good happens to one of us, then the happiness would be shared between the five of us."

"Same with joy,"

"Sadness,"

"Anger,"

"And love, too."

"All of them would be split between us, because we're five parts of a whole."

Fuutarou was observing the Quints from where he's sitting while playing with his own firework and guarding Raiha who is sleeping.

Fuutarou thought of going home but he quickly discarded the thought as he decided to watch the Quints a little longer.

"Only five sticks left."

"That's it?"

"I wish there were more~"

"Definitely finishing with this one~"

"I pick this one!"

"This one's my favorite."

"I'll have this one."

"This one was pretty fun."

After grabbing what they like, Ichika and Miku, touch the same on.

" "Ah." "

"Aha. Well, this is rare. I'll just go with this one instead. That's not something you can give up on right?"

"!" Miku thought of what Fuutarou said, 'Good friend.'

"Miku! Look! This one is flamboyant and a lot more fun than that sparkler, you know!" Yotsuba said while imitating a sword with the use of her firework like a certain Hashira.

"I'm fine with this one."

"Really? You like them that much?"

"Yeah. I do."

"I haven't thanked you yet, huh?" Ichika said as she came closer to Fuutarou.

"But I already have given you my first kiss. But I guess that's a reward for both of us." Ichika who finally came close to Fuutarou, "What can I offer you Fuutarou-kun? My mind, my heart or my virginity?"

But she noticed one thing, Fuutarou was asleep. She didn't know whether it was an act or he is really asleep.

"Mouu!" Ichika exclaimed as she put Fuutarou's head on her lap. Fuutarou who was actually awake, smiled as he felt Ichika's juicy thighs on his head.

"You've done a great job. Thank you and good night." Ichika then kissed his forehead and muttered, "I love you."

"I love you too." Fuutarou said. Ichika who heard what he said, shot her head back up and looked at Fuutarou. Who was grinning ear to ear with his eyes opened. Ichika felt her blood rush to her head as she blushed.

"Fuutarou-kun?!"

"Haha, good night Ichika. And I'll take your offer, but I want all three for myself." And closed his eyes as fatigue caught up to him, he drifted to the land of dreams.

"Offer?" Ichika titled her head cutely in confusion but her blush returned when she finally realized what he meant. She was about to shout at him but once she looked at him, she noticed that he's finally asleep. She smiled then stroked his head.

Safe to say that this day was very special for the two of them. It might not be an official confession but both teens finally told each other of their feelings. Though it won't be long before Fuutarou ask out Ichika for a date.

1835 words. And finally we're moving onto Volume 2. That's a joke. Originally, I planned the confession on the bonfire dance, The School Camping Trip Arc. But I wondered why not now? Also this fic almost turned into a r18 one, you notice the subtle hints right?

The acting part was originally planned just to contain 250 words but it bloomed into a 1000 words and I enjoyed writing it. When I was writing the acting part, I really enjoyed writing it. It felt like I'm free. No longer shackled by the original story. That I can do anything. I felt more motivated on writing. Compared to the scene where the quints had fireworks together. I enjoyed so much that I finished writing at 10:15 pm, 11:30 pm is the time I'm finished and ready to post in on Webnovel and Fanfiction. If I can tomorrow, sunday, write a chapter, then that's great.

If any real actors are reading my work. If some of the scene is inaccurate pls don't hunt me. I'm just a normal human.
