Just You Wait!

"Hah. How can you defeat me? With a mere blade and strength like yours, there's no way you can hurt me. You're going to die by my hands, so you should be grateful...!" The masked angel laughed, looking down at Rem.

'Her way of speaking reminds me of him... Gosh, they're too similar.'

Rem clenched the dagger on her hand tighter.

「Master, let's kill her already.」

'I won't kill her immediately. I need to ask her a few questions before I do.'

Rem used her martial arts, slightly running towards the masked angel. She ran so fast that a normal person would think that she teleported. When Rem was near the masked angel, she jumped up with a decent amount of force, causing her to be as fast as a bullet. The masked angel tried to dodge the sudden attack, but Rem managed to slash the right side of the masked angel's stomach.

"Tch..." The masked angel put her hand above her injury.

Her wound was deep. However, in a few seconds, her wound stopped bleeding. She was almost completely healed.

'Her healing abilities are quick!' Rem noticed, taking this chance to attack her opponent.

"You're surprisingly fast, quiet, and you even gave me an injury. Too bad... I won't let my guard down a second time...!" The masked angel blocked Rem's attack by creating a golden shield around herself.

She has a powerful, menacing, golden aura around her. The aura made Rem froze for a second.

'This aura... Who is she...? It feels just like that b*stard who killed me in my past life!'

Rem got back to her senses, furrowing her brows.

'Then I'll just have to shatter it using physical strength.'

'That's too bad.'

Rem looked up at the masked angel in the eyes, smirking.

"What are you laughing at???"

"Well... Why are you wearing a mask anyway? Is it because you're too ugly or what?"

Rem's plan is to provoke the masked angel. If she lowers her guard, Rem might be able to land an attack on her.

'Cynric... Don't use magic. Hide your aura for now. I'll tell you when to use your full force.'

「I understand.」

"Ha... Are you too scared? If you're that great, why did you come yourself to kill me? You must be a low-ranked-angel like them."

Rem pointed at the chunks of flesh on the ground.

"You...!"

There was an extremely menacing aura around the masked angel. If a normal person was here, they would have fainted right away.

"How dare you compare me to those pieces of trash! Unlike them, I'm a great being. They're nothing compared to me!!!" The masked angel yelled.

"Sure... You can keep lying to yourself."

Rem shrugged as if it couldn't be helped. She succeeded in angering the masked angel. The ground shook as many large spheres of golden light were formed, aiming at Rem.

"I've had enough of your nonsense. Die."

The spheres hit the ground, causing a huge dent in the ground.

'Urgh... They explode??!'

Rem tried dodging all the spheres. However, she couldn't dodge all of them since they explode and does enormous damage to Rem and the area near it.

{Shift to your monster form already. At this rate, you'll die.}

"Hahaha!!! That's what you get for messing with me. I wanted to play with you a little longer. You just HAD to provoke me... Ah, this is boring." The masked angel sighed as she turned to go back to where she came from.

Rem threw the dagger towards the angel using her full strength. Just as the dagger was about to hit the masked angel, Rem ordered Cynric to use its full power.

'Cynric, now!'

The dagger glowed in a black and red aura. In a split of a second, the dagger was inside the masked angel's arm. Using magic, the dagger made everything around it burn.

"AHHHHH!!!" The masked angel screamed, trying to pull the dagger out of her left arm.

While the masked angel was distracted, Rem shifted into her monster form. She was still injured. Despite the deadly attack, Rem survived it with a few injuries.

'I changed my mind. I can't let her live...! She's going to be a threat to me later on in the future.'

The angel screamed in pain, putting her right hand above her heavy wound. She tried to heal her arm, but Rem didn't allow her to. She pounced on the angel, ripping off the angel's left arm.

'Che, I missed.'

Rem carried the arm in her mouth, throwing it on the ground. Then, she burned it with her shadow flames. Nothing was left.

'I don't know her healing abilities. An angel can't regenerate an arm back after it's gone unless she's a specific type of monster.'

{You're correct.}

'Her guard's up now. She's injured, but this isn't enough for me to kill her.'

Rem aimed for the angel's neck. Instead, she only ripped off one of her arms. The dagger fell right off after Rem ripped the masked angel's arm. The angel has her barrier on again.

"I'll never forget what you did to me! One day, I'll make it so you'll beg me to kill you!!!" The masked angel flew away, disappearing from Rem's sight.

'How dangerous. I almost died back there... Hopefully, I can bump into her later on after I become stronger. When that time comes, I'll ask her a few things before killing her.'

Rem shifted back to her half beastman form, putting on her disguise to make her look human.

「How dare that filthy angel say all those things to Master. She even said she could kill you. What an imbecile. Humph, I'm so going to kill her.」

'I should get used to Cynric's odd behavior. Dang, I'm hurt quite badly.'

Rem has a burned wounds from the exploding spheres attack earlier. Both her legs, arms, and shoulders have burnt injuries.

'I don't think my healing skill is advanced at all. I can stop the bleeding and make the wound less serious, but I can't heal it completely. Maybe I should go see a healer.'

Rem stayed at the temple for a few more minutes.

'I should be fine.'
