The Omni-Rose Huntress - Ruby Rose

The Omnitrix, a weapon capable of the either intergalactic peace or massive universal destruction. In one universe, the prototype was created by Azmuth of the Galvan and landed in the hands of a young Benjamin Tennyson. But in this universe (this story), not only was it created by another alien, but it also landed in the hands of a more... simple soul. (Disclaimer: I OWN NOTHING (Except for original content)

The Day Everything Changed

"This is the story of a team of heroes like no other. A team who gives all they have to save their home planet, home galaxy, and even the universe they reside in. This young team of humble beginnings, who was doomed to fall at the hands of evil… Would wind up being the savior to all beings who respected her name."

Ruby was seen snoring away in the middle a one of Port's infamously long stories, with her teammates doing certain things, from Yang tuning everything she was hearing out, Weiss who was actually listening and taking notes, or Blake who was only secretly reading her "Ninjas of Love" literature story that she loved so much behind a textbook.

Meanwhile Jaune was attempting to stay awake with Nora snoozing away without a care in the world, while Pyrrha was politely listening and Ren was taking notes.

All of this went on until Beacon's bell tolled, dismissing everyone from Port's class. "And remember everyone, as your assignment for the rest of the week, I want a five page essay about the biology of Grimm, and how easily one is capable of exploiting their abilities, have a nice day." Port said as the students walked out of the classroom.

Upon hearing the word 'Assignment', Ruby shot up awake. "Say what now?" Ruby mumbled as she snapped out of her sleepiness.

Her partner sighed at her immaturity as she gripped Ruby's shoulder. "Don't worry about it, I'll tell you about it later." Weiss assured her.

"Let's go, it's time for lunch anyways." Blake told her friends.

"Yes, eating time." Yang smiled as she walked off with a spring in her step.

"Dang it, I fell asleep again." Nora pouted.

"Don't worry, I'll help you out with the homework when I have some time." Ren assured her.

"Jaune, did you catch some of the lecture?" Pyrrha asked her partner.

"I wouldn't call it a lecture, but yeah, I did learn something to an extent." Jaune answered as both teams RWBY and JNPR left the room.

As team RWBY was having lunch in Beacon's cafeteria, each member was talking among themselves about how things at the docks from the finale of Volume 1 went.

"I'm just glad that you guys were able to make up and put your differences aside." Yang told Blake and Weiss.

"Yeah, glad you could put your heritage aside and band together for eachother's sake." Ruby smiled at the two of them.

"Well, camaraderie can only come about if we work together, if we fought each other constantly in our time here, we'd only set ourselves up for failure." Weiss intelligently told them.

"I'm glad that you were able to forgive me for all that has happened." Blake smiled.

"So, what shall we do now?" Yang asked her friends.

Ruby honestly thought about what they ought to try and do, until, for some reason, a thought crossed her mind. "How about a nature walk in the Emerald Forest?" Ruby proposed.

Her teammates thought about that for a small amount of time until they answered.

"Sorry, Ruby, I wanted to catch up on my reading ever since the harbor." Blake apologized.

"I promised Pyrrha that I'd study with her, Jaune, and Ren for a little." Weiss added to the apologies.

"And I promised Coco and Velvet that I'd go with them to do some clothing shopping today." Yang added.

Ruby pouted. "Alright, I guess I'll just go there myself." She muttered.

This got Weiss and Yang a bit worried. "Are you sure about that? It's pretty dangerous out there, what with all the Grimm and stuff." Weiss told her.

"Yeah, I can always reschedule or something." Yang responded.

"Don't worry, I'll be fine, with my sweetheart, I can beat anything." Ruby said with a punch in the air.

The three members of team RWBY looked at each other, then nodded as they looked at Ruby.

"Alright then, but don't hesitate to call us should you need backup for anything." Weiss told her.

"You got it." Ruby responded, giving them a thumbs-up.

(After the school day was over…)

The Emerald Forest was later seen as Ruby was walking about in her Volume 1 combat attire and her weapon of choice, Crescent Rose, holstered onto the back of her hip. "Ah, nothing like a peaceful walk in the Forest with not a Grimm in sight, and the sounds of nature as my music." Ruby sighed in peace as she continued walking.

She has been walking for a short while now and when she got fairly deep into the forest where Grimm ought to be appearing, she noticed something slightly off. "Wait a moment…" Ruby muttered as she looked around and listened to the best of her abilities, only to find not a single noise was being made aside from the wind blowing through the trees. "Where are… all the Grimm?" Ruby wondered aloud.

That was when she heard something noticeable, and it came from the sky. Ruby turned her head upwards and saw something flying through the air. "What the heck!" She yelled as whatever was falling out of the sky began to get closer to the ground before…

CRASH!

It fell into an area nearby the forest. Ruby didn't know what had fallen, but she could feel curiosity taking over her as she went off to find out what had fallen.

As Ruby was quickly making her way over the crash site of what could've fallen, she began thinking about the possibilities. 'What could it have been that fell from the sky like that, it couldn't have been a Bullhead or a ship of any kind, it was too tiny in comparison, it had a tail of some kind behind it, so it must've been something that… fell from space?!' Ruby thought before she had a realization. 'Wait, could it really have been from outer space, what if it's a weapon of some kind, or an actual alien! But… then again, what kinda alien would be in a pod that tiny.' She wondered as she finally arrived at the crash site. "Oh my gosh…" Ruby muttered aloud as she saw what had happened.

The crash site consisted of multiple trees knocked over and a large crater that showed that whatever fell from the sky hit the ground and ran along it for a bit before coming to a complete stop at the bottom end of the crater, where she saw what had fallen out of the sky.

A large metallic cylinder-shaped pod that seemed to have a pair of rectangular support beams on either side of it. "Whoa…" Ruby let out in awe at the sight. "This is incredible." She whispered as she felt herself beckoned to walk towards it.

She walked forward and noticed that there was a large hatch on the side facing her. "Is this some kind of… container?" She thought out loud.

It was then that the large hatch slid into the cylinder and moved into the pod so that it was out of sight, which was when Ruby saw what was in the container.

"Is this… A watch?" Ruby said with a raised eyebrow.

The thing inside the container seemed to be a fairly large black and red watch, with gray lines running around the bottom of it, and a red hourglass symbol that was facing her.

Ruby didn't know why, but for some reason she felt… called to it, as if something deep down was telling her to reach out to it. She gulped and pulled the sleeve on her left arm up before reaching for it, hoping that nothing would go wrong…

Until the watch suddenly opened up and latched onto and around Ruby's left arm. "AAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!" Causing her to scream in panic at what had happened. "Oh nononononono!" Ruby panicked more as she was wildly shaking her arm in a futile attempt to get it off. "Dang it, why did I have to do something so stupid." Ruby said, cursing her sense of curiosity.

She quickly saw a large stick on the ground and tried to stick it under the weird watch in an attempt to pry it off, only for the stick to break after she applied too much pressure on it, making no progress in getting the watch off. "Dang it, DANG IT! How do I-" Ruby began to scream until she heard a beeping come from the watch itself as the hourglass symbol on it began to turn around once slowly. "Eh?" She muttered as the watch began… to speak in a robotic tone.

"DNA processing procedure complete, now beginning registration procedures, please state name and species name." The watch spoke in the form of a request of some kind.

Ruby was gobsmacked at what was going on and began to think there was a whole lot more to this watch than meets the eye, so she obliged the watch's request and spoke her name, and what she assumed was meant to be the fact that she was a Human. "Ruby Rose… Human?" Ruby said to the watch as she felt weird inside. 'Man, that felt weird.' She thought to herself.

The watch began to speak again. "Name, Ruby Rose, confirmed. Species, Human, confirmed. Now cataloging information." The watch's hourglass symbol began to spin around another time before speaking again. "Information cataloged. Booting up primary AI assistance protocols. Welcome, Ruby Rose." The watch spoke before a red light from the watch shined brightly from it, making Ruby close her eyes in recoil.

Which was when the light dimmed down as a voice seemed to come from the watch itself. "Man… talk about a rough ride." The watch seemed to say in a feminine voice as the hourglass symbol began to project a bright red light above it as if it were displaying a hologram or something.

"What the?" Ruby wondered in shock at hearing the watch speak, but was even more shocked when something began materializing above the red hourglass symbol.

It was a small humanoid, who looked really feminine in appearance with what looked to be a black skin-tight top and black skin-tight pants on her body, with red-tinted skin making up what seemed to be her actual form, and while Ruby could barely make it out, she had marks in her eyes that were similar in shape and color to the hourglass symbol on the watch.

"Oh, hello there, are you my new partner, Ruby Rose?" The holographic humanoid asked Ruby, looking at her.

"What the. Who, or what, are you?" Ruby asked the holographic humanoid.

"Oh? You don't know what I am, odd…" The humanoid said with one of her hands on her chin. "Either way though, I suppose I should answer your question." The humanoid bowed to Ruby with her hands held outwards. "I am O.M.N.I, the Omni-variable Multiple Nexus Intelligence to the galaxy's most powerful peacekeeping weapon, the Omnitrix. But please, for simplicity's sake, call me Omni." The humanoid, now named Omni, said introducing herself.

Ruby was shocked to hear all of this and couldn't suppress her curiosity. "The… Omnitrix?" Ruby repeated, completely confused.

Omni began to notice something was off about her situation and began to have a grim expression on her face. "Wait… you don't know what the Omnitrix is?!" She exclaimed in shock before looking down and snapping her fingers as she thought of what to do. "Uh… what planet are we on exactly?" Omni practically begged Ruby for an answer.

Ruby saw the worry in her eyes and felt pressured to answer. "Well, you're on Remnant, ever heard of it?" Ruby said, both telling her and asking her.

Omni's face had even more dread in it as she fell to her knees on top of the watch, which Ruby assumed was called the Omnitrix given what Omni had told her. "Oh no…" Omni muttered as she looked down. "What am I going to do now…" She asked no one in particular.

Ruby felt sad for the little human-like hologram as she raised her arm with the Omnitrix up to her face, and Omni with it. "Um… is everything okay? Did I do something wrong?" Ruby asked Omni.

Omni looked up to Ruby and saw her concern, she got back up onto her feet and sighed. "No, you didn't do anything wrong, it's just… things are going a little unprecedented at the moment." Ruby raised an eyebrow at this.

"What do you mean?" Ruby asked.

"Do you think we could walk and talk? Evening will be upon us soon." Omni told her as she and Ruby looked up to the sun, causing Ruby to pull out her scroll and look at the time.

"5:10 PM, you're right, I'd better head to Beacon before night falls." Ruby noted before taking her leave from the crash site.

(20 minutes later…)

After a little while of walking, Ruby was starting to get close to Beacon's campus grounds, her sleeve rolled up so she could talk with Omni along the way.

Ten minutes of silence was what beckoned Ruby to talk with Omni as they were heading back to Beacon, Ruby and Omni learned a couple of things from each other. Omni learned an abridged summary of most of Remnant's recent history, as well as the Great War, of the Huntsman and Huntress, and the beasts that they fight, the Grimm.

Meanwhile Ruby was able to start learning about the Omnitrix, including the most pivotal part of it…

"You mean I can TURN INTO ALIENS?!" Ruby shouted in shock and awe at the revelation.

"Indeed, the Omnitrix is a weapon designed for the promotion of peace across the galaxy and even the universe to a degree. And it does so by allowing a single being the power to turn into one of many, MANY different varieties of extraterrestrial beings, in fact, the Omnitrix could even turn an alien being into one of your kind." Omni told her, making Ruby get stars in her eyes…

Until she realized something. "Oh… I guess that means there was somebody meant to use the Omnitrix who isn't me?" Ruby guessed in disappointment.

Omni saw the sadness in her eyes at the fact that she wouldn't be able to use the Omnitrix, but she thought about the girl's mannerisms up till now. "Well, yes. There are select group of candidates that were chosen in secret by a special organization to wield the Omnitrix and become a beacon of hope and unity to the galaxy." Omni admitted. "However…" She soon said with a finger raised to her forehead.

Ruby raised an eyebrow at the sound of Omni's tone. "However… what?" She asked.

"Tell me, Ruby, what exactly IS the reason for you wanting to become a Huntress for your world?" Omni asked Ruby out of the blue.

Ruby was shocked at the question itself, but she answered all the same. "I… well… I want to…" Ruby suddenly felt her nerves wash away as she saw Omni give her a reassuring look. She took a deep breath, and spoke up. "I want to help people, to be someone that they can look up to, and feel a sense of hope at the same time." Ruby answered, making Omni's eyes go wide.

Omni held her hand up to her mouth and she lowered her head, and began to laugh. "Eheheheheh… AAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" Ruby was shocked at what Omni's reaction to her answer was, until Omni spoke up. "THAT'S IT, that's the answer I was hoping to hear from the Omnitrix wielder candidates." Omni said as she raised her arms up to Ruby. "You're the one wh-" Ruby looked forward for a moment and realized she was right in front of Beacon and some students were nearby.

"AH, now's not the time, I've got to hide you." Ruby said, shocking Omni.

"What, but I-" Ruby pulled her sleeve over the Omnitrix and hid from view as Omni's voice heard muffled out by her sleeve, until she heard what she thought was a huff as the muffled voice ceased.

"Sorry." She whispered into the Omnitrix, and by association, Omni.

(Later at night, around 8:30 PM)

Ruby was nervous as she hid under the sheets that comprised her bed with combat attire on and her combat boots off. With the rest of her team (except Weiss who was studying and listening to music to tune them out) and Team JNPR on the floor of their dorm room playing truth or dare.

"Okay, Nora, truth or dare?" Yang said with a grin.

"Hmmm… Dare." Nora picked.

"Okay then, I dare you… to do one hundred push-ups while the rest of us play, and you don't get your turn until you're done, or until you give up." Yang challenged her.

"PAH, that's hardly a dare for someone like me." Nora boasted as she got into a push-up position. "1, 2, 3, 4, 5…" Nora counted aloud as she began rapidly doing push-ups.

"Okay, Jaune, you're up next." Yang said.

"Alrighty." Jaune rubbed his hands together, and looked at Blake, who was reading a book with a blank expression on her face. "Blake, truth or dare." Jaune said to her.

Blake looked up from her book and sighed. "Truth…" Blake responded.

"Okay, what's one truth on your mind right now?" Jaune asked her.

"Hmmmm…" Blake thought and thought until something came to her mind. "A truth on my mind right now is…" Blake said as had her fingers on her chin. "I heard some sort of unusual sound far away from Beacon today." Blake admitted, as everyone who heard her leaned forward as Nora stopped her push-up momentarily to understand what she was talking about better, and Weiss paused her studying to hear about this.

"What kind of sound are you talking about?" Ren asked her.

"Well, it could've been my imagination, but I could've sworn I heard a sonic boom or something today." Blake admitted as Rub silently panicked.

'Oh shoot, a sonic boom perfectly described the sound that capsule made when it was falling out of the sky!' Ruby quickly thought as she hoped things wouldn't get directed to her.

"Which direction did it come from exactly?" Pyrrha asked her.

"I'm pretty sure it came from the Emerald Forest." Blake answered, until she remembered something against Ruby's hopes. "Wait, Ruby. Didn't you go for a walk to the Emerald Forest just today?" Blake asked the hooded Huntress.

Ruby's entire world cracked as she felt her skin go cold. "Ummm… yes." She reluctantly admittedly.

"Wait a second." She said as she pulled her earphones out of her ears and looked to Ruby's bed, where the girl herself was curled up in. "Does that mean you have an idea as to what may have transpired there to make that sonic boom?" Weiss asked.

"Ummm, uh, well… I…" Ruby tried to find a way out of this without telling them about the Omnitrix, but she was drawing more blanks than a markless sheet of paper.

"Ruby, you're stuttering, that means you MUST know SOMETHING." Yang said as she knew her sister the most out of her teammates.

"Well, the thing is I…" Ruby saw the Omnitrix's hourglass blinking lightly as she felt a warm sensation around the area the Omnitrix was on, as if Omni herself were holding her hand saying…

"Everything will be alright."

Ruby gulped as she pulled the sheets concealing her over and landed on the floor after jumping off her bed, her right hand covering the area where the Omnitrix was in nervousness. She took a deep breath as everyone looked at her in anticipation. "I… actually know exactly… what made that noise in the forest." Ruby admitted.

"You know?" Weiss repeated.

"EXACTLY what fell out there?" Yang emphasized her point.

"Yeah, and whatever you guys do, don't freak out." Ruby pleaded to them.

"Wait, why would we…" Jaune said as he suddenly had a look of realization on his face. "You didn't really…" Jaune grimaced at what Ruby was implying.

Ruby sighed as she pulled the sleeve of her left arm up and unveiled the Omnitrix to them. "THIS, is what made that sonic boom." Ruby admitted. "It's called the Omnitrix, and it's a device from outer space." She told them with slight heaviness in her voice.

Okay, so...

This is the first work I'm hanging up on WebNovels, I've never done so before, and I might not be that good at updating this story, but I hope that I can do and make something good out of this here.

Feel free to leave your opinions on this story... Wherever that might be possible on here.
