Chapter 4

"What?!"... I screamed at Eva, when she told me that somebody had picked my phone and she was talking to them just now.

"You told him what?.." I asked again in disbelief. I was debating whether I should faint or just throw myself from this building to land down dead, Away from the horrors of this world.

"How was I supposed to know it wasn't you on the phone!, I was worried sick about you.... You can't blame me for that!!. She exclamated in frustration.

I dropped on the chair near the store room. This was my darkest secret, apart from the neighbors who eavesdropp on me and mom, and Eva nobody else knows that I'm being Abused by my mother.

I was praying to whoever was listening to me in the Heavens for the one who picked my phone to not be Mr Enzo Bianchi or I'm I'll be too ashamed to meet his eyes.

"How did your phone end up with him anyways?" Eva's question brought me back from my thoughts. Memories of yesterday came floating back. How he chased me to the dark alley, to grab me and shove me in the car for a ride.

I couldn't tell all this to Eva. I can't deal with her dramatic reactions and this is Mr Enzo Bianchi my boss we are talking about. so I decided to be as discreet as possible keeping the details to a minimum and finally I told her that I have spoken to Mr Benson and he promised to contact Mr Enzo so I can get back my phone.

"Wow.... That's..a lot... so your mother did hurt you didn't she?"

"it wasn't that serious This time, as you can see I'm okay" finishing with a plastic smile. which screamed the truth right out of me.

Eva walked closer crouching Infront of me to place her palms on the sides of my face.

"I'm always here for you... you have my support" she breathed out softly.

Walking out of the elevator. shaft, I take long strides towards my office, Bella and whatever I've heard about her, roaming around my head.

I didn't bother greeting my secretary as I passed her cabin to enter in my office. I made myself comfortable on the Walter Knoll designer chair. I lay my head at the top edges of the chair, swinging sideways Still thinking about that Girl.

The sound of a door being knocked twice brought me to sit straight. Joana's blonde head peeked from the door.

"Sorry to disturb you sir, but Mr Williams from Crowford agency is here to meet you, Should I send him in?"

I pulled my chair closer to the table, fixing my jacket whilst dismissing Joana to let him in.

After a few seconds Joana held the door open and in walked a tall man with brown hair. he was dressed in a casual attire. a black jeans paired with a red flannel shirt which he rolled up the sleeves to his elbows. To finish the look he put on khaki suede derby shoes. His facial features were mixture of boyish and a tint of danger. from his browner skin to high cheekbones.

He was good looking for a Detective.

"welcome to Cassa Di lusso corporation" I stretched my hand for a him to shake it. I motioned him to sit down.

I heard Joana's Excuse and the door went shut.

"Mr Detective, I would prefer skipping the pleasantries to go straight to the subject. There's a girl I want you to dig everything about."

I slowly removed my hand on the table leading it to my pants. fishing out the phone, I switched it on and after a few seconds the lock screen wallpaper of Bella and another girl came live.

"Her name is Bella Andrews, she lives down town.I'll Email you her address as soon as possible".

"there's a blonde girl and another one with black hair, I'm still not sure who you're referring to"

The detective spoke professionally while scrutinizing the photo.

"The one In black hair is Bella and the other If I may guess right is Eva her best friend".

He took out his phone aiming at the photo on the screen of Bella's phone and captured it.

"I'll take my leave now Mr Enzo. I'll contact you as soon as I'm done" he stood up to stretch his hand, which I brushed lightly since I'm too strong to shake his hand.

After the detective left, I went to video conference room for my scheduled conference call meeting with the investors in Italy to present the Annual report of the Annual conference discussed by the board members and other investors.

The big screen flashed on and the faces of multiple investors from different cities in Italy came in view.

"Saluti signore e signori"

(Greetings ladies and gentlemen). They all replied to the greeting, they become more inclusive when I address them in our tongue.

"Senza ulteriori indugi passiamo alla nostra discussione. credo che abbiamo cose più importanti di cui occuparci"

(without further delay, let's get down to our discussion, I believe we all have more important things to attend to.)

I walked out of the conference room back to my office. my cellphone vibrated and I stopped to check who it was. I pressed the green button placing the phone to my left ear while continuing the small trek to the office.

"Not, really Benson what is it?... Anything wrong down there?".....

"Tell her to come to the Headquarters to collect it After her shift... Anything else?..... right"

I removed the phone from my ear to stop at Joana's desk.

"If a girl named Bella comes to ask for me, Send her in"

"Okay sir" she bobbed her head.
