Chapter 35: Preparations

Arc: The Magic Championship

In the capital , the Diamond City at night time , a man runs to arrive at one of the small entrance between the residences . Upon his arrival , a man who was waiting for him in the dark says :" You're late ! " 

The man :" Forgive me sir , I have returned from the battle land ....Seth has failed the mission and he has been caught ."

The man angrily, clutching the pen in his hand from the severity of his annoyance until it dissolves into  dust : "All of you ... all of you are useless , the plan was very easy , get 50,000 zins with air slides after threatening the teams to detonate bombs , was it that difficult ? "  

The man:" Sorry sir, the sudden appearance of the guards was the reason ." 

"What!" 

The man:" Yes, they kept it secret from the crowd and the soldiers calmed things down , then managed to get their comrades out before the explosion ."

The man laughs hysterically, with his head up to the sky:" HAhahaha!, the legendary guards you say , impressive , the old man has started to assemble his crew , Igor , your game starts now ." 

The man:" What.. what are your orders , sir?" 

Igor ,hands a small modern gun and leaves :"Kill that traitor ." 

( Igor, a 17-years old with a dark charcoal hair and frightening gray eyes .)

At the same time in the palace of the Diamond King, the king was in his office signing some agreements and transactions pertaining to the kingdom when Princess Violet enters . 

Violet :" Sorry for interrupting ."

King Zeno:" Hello Princess."

Violet:" Brother , there is no one else here , so no formalities ." 

Zeno:" If I don't speak to you officially , I might get used to it ."

Violet , serving him food:" Oh, you're stubborn, you look so cute with these glasses ."

Zeno, upset:" I'm not.... What is this with you?"

Violet:" It's the mushroom soup that mother use to make , here eat it ."

Zeno: "You could have given the recipe to the cooks instead of these wounds on your fingers ." 

Violet :"hah!" 

The king emerges to look out over the kingdom from his vast ornate balcony , staring at the night sky , the beautiful lights of his kingdom , and the huge diamonds adorning the streets .

Violet:" I know you that you were crowed as king lately and this is your first field ceremony ...I will always be by your side so don't worry."  

Zeno:" Even if that day comes , where you must leave ?"

Violet:" Again with your mystery talk."

Zeno stares at her , as if she knows what he meant . 

Violet:" Being a legendary guard is my destiny and I have no choice but to accept it , until my departure , I shall always be attached to you , you are my little brother . "

Violet , left the room , leaning herself against the office door :"Oh God, I beg you , give me more time , a little more time ."

Nine hours ago , in the Sharman's family  yard , Jason was practicing with Zeke , Owen ,Greed and Farsto to strengthen his defense . 

Zeke attacks Jason with his strings  :" Jason, you must focus more ." 

Jason tries to stop his attack:" How is that and this band covers my eyes ."

Greed replies, kicking him:" You don't have to see it , focus on your enemy's aura."

Farsto fires rubber bullets at him : I know , wining the game was just luck."

Jason ,as soon as he  got shot: "Ouch !"

Jason removes the band and began fighting with them .

Owen, leaning on his orange spear :"Oh, I'd better watch the gentle girls' exercise ."

Jason calls out :" HEY!, come back here...Owen!" 

While the boys were training , Christine and Ayami were also practicing .

Christine: "One more time ." 

" Don't you want to take a rest , You've been training for a while ." Nichole says , sitting on the mat with Tom and Lasto .

Christine :" No rest during a fight ." 

Nichole:" But ..."

Lasto eating a box of biscuits :" Biscuit ?"

Nichole:" Thanks , Lasto ."

Lasto: "No, I changed my mind , I'll eat it all."

Nichole: "Why did you ask me then ."

Christine with herself:" How did I fire that shell ? "

Arsh :" Christine, put me on the floor , then focus on collecting the aura in your hand and let Ayami attack you with her whip ."

Christine :"Oh, Ayami attack me ."

Ayami:" I'm fired now , here I come ."

Christine with herself:" I collect the aura in my hand , a part from my body and another part from my surroundings , and I release it ! " 

She swept her smoldering hand forward , and a red flame appeared , repelling Ayami's blows with the whip . 

Christine:" I..I did it ! "

Arsh:" Now throw me high as you did in the game , try to connect the aura around me with your aura ."

Christine threw the Tanto up after it became surrounded by fire , and suddenly it came across a faint red thread coming out of the Tanto , she closed her eyes to focus the aura on her hand to produce a thin thread . She extended her hand towards the Tanto to connect the strings , pulled the Tanto towards it and grabbed them . 

Christine , amazed:" Did you see that ?! "

Lasto, as her mouth full of food , speaks in strange ,incomprehensible noises: "No , no one else can see it except you ." 

Christine:" Is that so ."

Tom and Nichole : "How did they communicate ."

Arsh:" The first move is called the Flaming Wall , it works as a barrier against attacks , the second move if you master it well , you can throw me to greater distance and let me go even faster. "

Owen is coming towards them :" Isn't enough training for today ?" 

Marissa :" Owen is that your weapon ?"

Owen:" Yeah, It's my dear friend spear . I can split it in half because of the chains attached to it .It's a gift from my mother , I inherited my magic from her ."

Jason joins them : " Oy! , we're not done yet ."

Owen:" You practice alone then ."

Jason:" You said that you gonna help me , you betrayer ."

Zeke:" Too much exercise is a counterproductive . " 

Greed: " We should rest , even if you train you will never progress anything ." 

Farsto:" Yes, never ,ever , ever . "

Jason:" The coach has to motivate his students , you failures ."

Owen: " Right , why didn't you receive training from the Dragon Tribe , and you from the Fire Clan , didn't help you ?" 

Jason exclaims :" Hey hey !, the Dragon Tribe !!" 

Christine coldly :"The Fire Chan ?"

Everyone sits on the mat , and Marissa explained to Owen that the four came from the human world . 

Owen:" I see, It's good that you both wear these or you would get exposed ." 

Jason:" But , since when there is a Dragon Tribe ?"

Marissa opens Alanazia's kingdom map with Nichole's bracelet :" Let me explain , before the suppression of Alanazia it consisted of seven cities and four tribes , the Holy City , Marsael , Diamond City , Lenyo , Russial and the capital Zentral . The Holy City and Marsael west of Diamond City and the rest are in the east . The Fire and The Earth Clan are far south , while the Dragon and Snow Tribe are in the far north . " 

Zeke:" The last city is high in the clouds , The Land Fairies ." 

Tom:" Where to go Jason?" 

Jason:" I'll be back at dinner time ."

Greed:" What happened to him?"

Lasto:" Maybe he's back for workout ."

Farsto:" No look , he sat cross-legged on the floor!"

Nichole :"So be it ,let's go back in."

Master Valko and the twins parents congregate at the dining table when the rest enter . 

Ms. Sherman:" How was your training ?"

Farsto:" Mom , you can tell by their faces ."

Master Valko:" Where's Jason?! "

Nichole :" He's been acting weird since the championship ended ." 

Greed , reaches out over the meat plate :" Yummy !, this looks delicious , thank you for your generosity ." 

Ayami , moves the plate away : "Take a bath first ." 

Owen complains :" But we're hungry ."

Zeke:" It was a tiring exercise ."

Marissa :" You can wait a little more ."

Lasto roars :" Lasto ...Lasto is hungry ."

Tom:" You just ate a whole pack of biscuits ."

Meanwhile , Jason is sitting cross- legged with his eyes closed on the green ground , a gentle gust of wind blows past his white hair , opening his eyes to find himself facing his white dragon , Drago .

Jason looks at Drago:" Did you know about the existence of the  Dragon Tribe ?" 

Drago coldly :" Yeah "

Jason:" And you didn't tell me ."

Drago:" Do I have to?"

Jason: "Of course ...Anyway , is this tribe perhaps ....No, does this tribe have anything to do with you ?"

Drago : " Yeas. "  

Jason:" I am hearing you , tell me the details ether it's boring , who are you, from , where and are there other dragons besides you ?" 

Drago:" For decades , very far away , dragons had a high position among other magical creatures , so they were appreciated and respected by humans , but their respect for the dragons decreased and they began to diminish little by little , and they used them to move and did not care about them as before . The white dragons that you call the protective dragons were obedient to humans and protect them from harm and bring peace . In return , is found the black dragons that wanted to liberate humans and destroy the human race , and here began the war between magical creatures and humans that strayed for many centuries , at the beginning most magical creatures  stood against humans with black dragons , to turn the situation around and stand by them after the peace agreement . 

Although I was one of the Protective dragons I wanted to be free, and I destroyed billions of people to fulfill my desire . The number of the protective dragons and other human supportive dragons were larger . We didn't have the opportunity against them , since the dragons had begun to diminish , so our numbers decreased , and we all fell , whether they support humans or not . 

One day I woke up in a snow cave , it started as if I had risen from a nightmare of war that would not end . I was dying . Taking care of me a beautiful , innocent woman who had nothing but her small house in the village at the foot of the mountain .She offered me food and treated my wounds without fear. 

The girl :" Come on , I'll not harm you , I'll treat your wounds so you can fly ."

Drago stares at her in wonder and hesitantly , with deep wounds all over his body and blood covering him . The girl approaches to him gently , heals his wounds , sweetly and talks to him with a smile.

Defiantly she couldn't understand me as you do now , when I was healed, she flew me in the sky , between the clouds and always came to meet me . On a day , she came to me full of bandages and wounds , she fell on me , still smiling at me . 

The girl on the verge of death , talking with difficulty :" L....Live , good dragon , leave before they kill you , th.... there is no dragon left in this life , they .....they all killed ...so, survive , fly from here." 

Her cold hand touched my face and she left her life , I couldn't bear the matter , so I entered into her soul before it left and killed the rest of the villagers there .  We both lived together after that .She got married , gave birth  to a child and moved to him until I reached to you . 

Drago closes his face to Jason's shocked face :" This is my sin ." 

Jason:" You owe to that girl for life ." 

Drago:" Sure "

Jason:" I also owe to her, she changed you mind towards humans , I will help you to atone for that sin , then take be to that village . 

Drago: " Yes, Dragon Protector ."
