Chapter 36:Towards the Diamond City

Arc: Train to the Capital .

Since I came to this world and people were speaking about the capital and how different it is from the regions of Marsael and the Holy City , some  praise  it while the others  vilify it , that's why I'm not talking people's opinion this time , I'll check it myself . 

The next morning on the train in Marsael station , Jason sits on the wooden train chair ,leaning against the window spacing out  ,thinking while holding a picture he got from the Sherman family.

An a hour ago outside the Sherman's house . 

Ms. Sherman crying :" Don't forget to contact us by letters and you Lasto , don't eat too much , don't  spoil on your clothes, get up early ... and also don't behave strangely."

Lasto shyly :" Mom, Lasto knows , Lasto knows !"

The twins father:" Farsto , take care of your sister."

Farsto:" Sure I will."

Mr. Sherman:" Where is your destination again?" 

Master Valko:" Goodness!, I told you , we are searching for the two copies of the Black Hoop Book , we might find it in the capital ."

Ms. Sherman :" Plus , they may find other guards there."

Farsto: "I hope when I'm back this forgetting habit of yours would change ."  

Owen:" Oy!...come one we're late ."

Mr. Sherman holds Jason: "Wait , I found this photo , you can have it ."

Jason:" Is this ?"

Mr. Sherman:" Your parents and this is you as a baby ."

Jason:" And who is that man with a funny triangle beard next to my dad? "

Mr. Sherman: It is your uncle, he was your father's right hand, he sacrificed his life to save your father, jumped with all courage to protect him from a powerful magic attack."

Jason: "Thank you very much , I'll cherish it ."

Tom: "See you soon ."

Nichole , pulling Ayami who was grabbing the truck :" Come on Ayami, we gonna be late for the train ."

Ayami holds the truck :"Aaaaa!, I don't wanna leave you dear ."

Lasto pass  beside her and touches her, causing her to float in the air while Nicole pulls her.

Marissa: "It we be transported later ."

On the train after an hour . 

Ayami with a frowning face:" My truck , my lovely truck ." 

Marissa: "Please , , as soon as we reach , the first thing we do is to get her truck ."

Nichole :"You told me the truck will transport by the help of magic users with a teleportation magic . "

Lasto:" Yes, the magicians of teleportation magic meet to transport supplies and necessities that do not cross the trains in Marsael and the Holy City."

Christine :" Are the trains in the capital that different from other trains?"

Ayami:" Of course, the city of diamonds is finer, more crowded and developed, for example, in the cities which we visited, trains operate steam machines, but in the capital they use diamonds filled with magic."

Tom listens to them from the chair behind them: "Oh really!"

Nicole punches Tom in the face with the book: "Don't spy on girls talk, you goofy."

Tom  grabs his forehead and returns to his seat: " ouch !, that hurts ." 

Zeke:" This is what you get for spying on girls ."

Tom:" You're the reason for that , look at them all boring , right Jason .....again traveling away with his thoughts ."

Greed sprinkles water on Jason, who was moonstruck . 

Jason stands and yells angrily :" What you think you're doing !"

Greed:" I'm not going to keep looking at your face, which got even uglier than before."

Jason:" Is that so ,let me rearrange your face to be more beautiful."

Farsto: "It was  better for them to be quiet. "

Owen:" Why did I agree to accompany them , yes the girls ."

Zeke: "You shut up ."

In front of two soldiers , a small room used for  interrogation at  the Main  Army Headquarters , Major Lloyd enters to the Corporal Seth , who was tied , Lloyd pulls the chair and sits in front of him .  

Lloyd:" You neglected your duties and took part in the  magic championship  to plant bombs in the padlocks ... and the reason is?"

Seth as he approaches to him: "Major Lloyd, I told Signe that I couldn't say anything else other than that I got involved with a certain group. I needed  a lot of money for a reason that I can't say, I didn't see the leader of the group, just  orders were given  to me and I received money in advance. . I cannot say anything more .. because I will ... I will be killed ...  understand my situation."

Seth stares  at Lloyd anxiously in tones of panic and intense sweating, Lloyd stands and stares at the door.

Lloyd:" Despite of what you said now , you are still in detention and you shall be subject to serve punishment , excuse me now ."

Lloyd talks to Signe , who was walking with him down the aisle  :" Make sure to secure Seth's family , just in case ."

Sergeant Signe :" yes sir ."

At the same time , in the same corridor. 

Officer:" First Lieutenant , we are glad you are returning from the second building, the prisoner in the interrogation room."

Eyan: "Good. Has Major Lloyd arrived? "

Major :" I'm right behind you ."

Eyan:" As always ,  appearing once I ask ."

Lloyd :" Consider  me as your shadow ."

When suddenly an officer came running towards them in panic .

The Officer:" Sir , we have a problem ."

They rushed to the prisoner, which is Corporal Seth. The first lieutenant(Vice President ) opened his eyes in shock after seeing that scene.

Major hesitantly :"I ...I was here a while ago !" 

The corporal was in his chair with his head on the table, the surface of which was shrinking and blood dripping from the table and covering its smooth surface.

The Major spotted someone watching them , then shouted :"You, stop right there!"

The Major followed him with 4 other officers to reach a balcony, the person jumped from it , the Major grabbed his gun to shoot  him, but he only fired at the man's jacket after he took it off while he was jumping hidden his trail. 

Lloyd as he bites his lips :" Damn it , he escaped . "

Solider:" Sir, you better come see this ."

They all head back to the room for investigation. 

Lloyd: "It seems that the killer didn't use any weapon , he grabbed his head and hit him on the table by some magic ."

Eyan: "The group that Seth got involved with , heh!"

Lloyd: "Contact  Colonel Lisa for autopsy ."

Officer: "Okay , sir ."

Eyan: "We must have a little visit to the capital , I'm having a bad feeling ."

On the train which was heading to the capital , after changing the train at a small station between the borders of the capital and the Holy City.

Nichole , looking at Jason's picture :" Haha!, you were a cute kid Jason ."

Jason shyly:" You could've asked for something else to do ."

Ayami:" What's wrong , you lost the game ."

Jason:" But I didn't agree on playing Karuta from the first place ."

Note: Karuta  is a competitive game played individually or collectively, and it is one of the games in Japanese culture.

Christine pulls the picture from Nichole as if she saw something about it , she saw a burn on the edge of the photo, and accurately, she looked at Jason for a while and then he noticed her staring at him.

Jason :"What?...why are you staring at me like that , freaky !"

Christine:" I can't believe this cute baby is you ."

Jason:" What's your issue with me , you always pissing me off ."

Christine :"And you always disgusting me ."

Owen: "Enough , you are annoying people around ."

One of the passengers says, annoyed, "What a bother."

"Mother, why don't the Redeyes eat them , they're misbehaving ?"

"They will eat them when they sleep, so you must behave well , not as those people."

Tom: "Why all this cruelty !?"

Jason :"As If I am gonna let them eat me , I'll teach those creatures a lesson as I did in the temple ."

Zeke smiles :"Don't brag that much ."

Owen:" What ... you should be more optimistic, my friend."

Greed:" Weren't you bragging about defeating them before."

Master:" No, Zeke is absolutely right , Jason , Christine , You  properly did not see them clearly , is that right ?"

Jason and Christine answered :" Yes , that's right ."

Master: "And has anyone of you did ?"

Marissa, Greed , Owen and Ayami replied with no .

Farsto :"I and Lasto saw one dead before."

Lasto:" Lasto didn't like what she saw , it was horrible ."

Zeke :"Right, it was the most disgusting and ugliest thing I have ever seen in my life. they cannot speak or use magic, but they can, in return, grasp their prey and realize how much magic you have, with those dark red eyes, gray skin, and their slender bodies, with that smile ... ."

Jason hit Zeke's back to wake him up from scary scenes:" Be assured, once we get together we will exterminate them all, until we make you forget about their existence."

Zeke , smiles :"I know that ."

Ayami: "Alright , I'll go out to get some fresh air ."

Zeke: "I am coming too."

Nichole: "So do I , you ?"

Marissa: "Why not."

Christine: "I'll pass."

Lasto: "Lasto is waiting for the candy cart.."

Marissa: "Okay, we will meet then"

After 25 minutes from  their separation. 

Christine , to herself and looking at the window  :"They are late ."

Lasto screams:" Haaaaa!"

Christine: "What! what! "

Lasto:" Lasto slept , the candy lady might left by now ."

Owen:" Do you need anything you two?, we are grabbing some food ."

Lasto joyful :" Yes, Lasto wants candy and some magazines, please."

Owen:" Come on Greed , Jason , your brother is asleep , his head was falling out in a funny way ."

Lasto with a chilling look:" Don't make a joke on my brother ."

Owen: "Yee"

Lasto:" Where to go Christine?"

Christine: "I'll check Nichole and the others , they are late."

Lasto:" Lasto is coming too."

The two girls walk until they come to an end. Christine and Lasto looking at each other in astonishment, then ran quickly when a surprise suddenly appeared.

Christine in shock:" What!...What , we've been separated from the train ... quickly , check the other side , we will get separated ."

Lasto floats on her ball, speeding , but she arrives late and saw the front train locomotive detached moving away fast in front of her .

Lasto: "We, we are separated !"
