Read first 73 ch, and I've got to say, this novel is overrated thus far. Shallow story, the rest just average. I will revise this review once I get to read more chapters.

Completely fell in love with this series after watching the first season of the anime and could no longer wait, so finally decided to pick this up and have been reading nonstop. The characters, minor characters development is amazing everybody has a diverse personality. Main character is a long time pro playing the game for over 10 years, which easily explains his experience and gaming skills, the build up, the OP-ness, the world, the plot everything that I can think of is absolutely outstanding, was not disappointed or bored on any chapter so far, still far away from catching up to current chapters but I highly recommend you pick this up and give it a read. Will update as soon as I catch up!! Why are you still here?? Go book mark this and read now!!

What I really, really love about this is the fact that though the MC (Ye Xiu) is really an exceptional player, this story ISN'T about him just being stronger than every one else, rampaging through the enemy ranks by himself, and saving the day BY HIMSELF again and again. No, this is about a very capable but also very hardworking man who has suffered what most would see as a career ending setback but through sheer determination, game-savvy, godly skill, and teamwork, he is able to climb back up and get back into the pro-league. And the teamwork isn't just some kumbaya lets-all-work-hard stroll in the park. Whether dungeon, wild boss, 1 v 1, or team match, the tactics to win really just shine through. They don't just play hard, they play SMART. And that brings me to my final point: the vividness of the writing. The characters themselves are so distinct that even with 20 teams, and some guilds, the characters that the author bothers to name are very easy to remember - which is a very amazing thing given that this is a sports novel. Not only are they memorable, but many of them are also lovable in their own way with their iwn flaws and worries and stengths and personalities. Aside from the characters, the in-story game itself GLORY is so vivid. So vivid in fact that I even internet searched to see if it really existed. The audience is able to understand the way the tactics and matches play out BECAUSE the game itself is so well thought out and constant. Let me say that again. This novel, by itself, without the donghua (animation), is able to DESCRIBE battles of AN IMAGINARY GAME and HAVE THE AUDIENCE UNDERSTAND WHAT'S HAPPENING because the author is so consistent. It's really the best webnovel I've ever read and re read (and reread). The comedy is also on point so rereading just for laughs and awesomeness never gets old. I truly cannot recommend this enough.

I'm usually not into novels about games but if you endure for a couple hundred chapters, it gets really good although it's a bit of a tear-jerker at about 616. I initially got interested in it because of the anime (and it's really good!) but the anime had less details and only roughly skimmed over it. The manhwa was also really good but it the story progressed very slowly and I'm not the patient type. The novel........well, is veeeeeeeery long compared to most others but if you take the time to read, you won't regret it. Also, a warning that reading the whole thing will take an extremely long time (it took me weeks) and if you have time to spare, go on ahead but be aware of the time and don't get too absorbed into it.

Excellent Exit!!! Bravo! All glory to Su Mucheng. I am waiting for the 'counter attack'. This is Glory. This is how to play. No sponsors. No IOUs. Just the game and your might to fight.

This is one of a kind and a brilliant piece of work based on gaming. The characters are interesting and well-developed. The story arcs are seamless.

Everything’s awesome 👏 That’s all I can say for TKA. And now for the 140 character requirement. A few more words to fulfill the requirement.

This is a really good story . Character development is pretty good . the plot is neat and progressing nicely without any loopholes . As the story goes you will get more and more attached to the storyline andit has been able to keep a close margin with reality . The main character is really Op which in most of the other novels get really boring but in this case Ye qui's characteristics are really interesting and I am always rooting for him . Overall This is the best chinese light novel series I have read so far with a mix of humor . Hats off to the author .( by the way , the translation is relly good tooo )

TKA is a very realistic novel... No matter how OP the player is, you will still lose when you fight with max level character using a level 1 character... and i loved that the author set that all characters are equals. They each have pro and con to them, unlike some games novels that stress that certain characters/ jobs are better than the others. Which morons would chose that characters/jobs then? No one would want to be a mob. Not to mention author's jab at switching off the internet or electricity to have real sly win😂😂 😂... And near the end, when it was hyped out how famous ye xiu and su mucheng are, the author slapped the readers back to reality with one question Ye xiu: do you play Glory? Taxi driver: games are for kids! Yeap, that's the reality. not everyone can accept 'playing games' as a proper job. Not to mention the short-lived career as an e-sport pro player. So, i really enjoyed this sort of OPness within the realm of our reach unlike virtual vrmmo and such.

I started reading TKA after stumbling on a video on the donghua version around 2 years ago. After watching the donghua, I honestly fell in love with it. It was a fresh breath of air after standard mmo anime in which I never really enjoyed. After finishing season 1 of the donghua, I decided to read the novel (which was a surprise to me as I hate reading and can never commit to it XD). I realized just how much it gave me all the feels and many laughs. Sure, some parts of the novel can be a little dragged on or boring without the shenanigans from Ye Xiu, but it was still really enjoyable. It even made me cry. It included all the things I ever wanted from an mmo, good world building, cool and interesting mechanics such as self made equipment and how you can pretty much so anything in the game (such as rolling backwards XD) and even tactics such as unique moves, dirty tactics, strategy and flooding your opponents screen with speech bubbles so that they can't see what they're doing or killing their ears with constant talking *cough cough Huang Shao Tian* The novel not only cares for the character development of the main cast, but also for the small side characters. It can turn my least favorite characters to ones where you can come to like them by the end, yes even Sun Xiang. It shows that the rivals are not only rivals but also great friends with their interactions on and off stage, becoming best friends through the game they love. Video games are not only there for you to play, but also to learn from. It deals with real life problems from company greed, aging, ridicule, and even your own disabilities. It shows how the ones facing these problems overcome them and find a way to do what they dream to do. It tells the story of a retired pro player getting kicked out of his club rising back to the top of the pro scene after retirement with a new team that shares his love for Glory. They faced many challenges together, encounter many funny and serious moments, all to rise to the top of Glory fame, and it all stared In an internet cafe. Hopefully this review helped to convince you to read / gave you my impression about this amazing novel. If you're new, you're in for a trip you won't regret.

a new review I guess since webnov took this from the og translator....ever since they took it the updates of the novel is stagnating and degenerated to the point where we even reached the point of 5 chps a week from once 12-15...what a sad development for such a good novel.. I guess they want to maintain and leech for its popularity...and also..dem bots voters tho.... I am really sad that this very novel that I followed all the way here reduced to this... still a damn fine novel tho...! I suggest reading it....!

One of the best stories I read here on webnovel. Worth spending my Spirit Stones in King's Avatar. Ye Xiu is someone whom I really idolized. His skill, personality and overall character is the best. Keep up the good work. 💕

This heartwarming story feels like a real-life tale. It isn't a titanic struggle between good and evil; instead it feels like a struggle against the harshness of the world with the shared joy in triumph and shared sadness in defeat. The medium for this world is a video game, making the battles very cinematic. The translation is excellent and extremely consistent. The story revolves around interesting characters, mysterious and likeable, and you can't help but root for their victory. An excellent drama that is grounded in reality making it relatable, but has a second, fantasy world, with all the wonder and action those worlds possess, and brought to life by interesting and intriguing characters. One of my favorite stories of all time!

A fine read. Most likely the best translated novel on the whole site. This novel that gives a good look at the e-sports scene and makes it look fun and interesting. You'd think watching other people play computer games would be rather boring. But nope. The author makes the characters come alive on these pages with funny personalities that are just a joy to read. Max props to the author ButterflyBlue and translator Nom for bringing us this novel!

Absolutely something different from your daily novels. Interesting plots but battles might be a bit repetitive. Characters are well thought out. For people who loves shameless MCs this novel is for you. MC is not too OP, cause of his strength is from his passion and diligence. Overall a damn good novel in the category of its own. Though there's no romance. So for you people who likes romance you may find it a turn of but please still try reading this. I can guarantee you that you will enjoy it. PM me if u don't find it enjoyable 😝

For the sake of the author's icons =))) From the unknown to the famous, To fight which years are not free, There are twenty million of us, Killed, not returned from the war. No, we have not disappeared in the pitch smoke, Where the path, as to the top, was not straight. We also left our wives young, And the boys got rid of their mothers. And on Victory Day we descend from the pedestals, And in the windows the light did not go out, We are all from the rank and file to the generals We are invisible among you. There is a sad day for the war, And on that day you are drunk with joy. The bell rang above us, And the rumble of the wedding is pouring from the height. We have not forgotten ourselves for centuries, And every time at the Eternal Flame You have a duty to consult us, As if in thought of the head, the clone. And may not care leave you Know the will of those who did not return from the war, And before rewarding someone And before the condemnation of guilt. All that we defended in the trenches Il returned, rushing into a breakthrough, To protect and protect you bequeathed, The only life putting. As on medals, after us cast, We all are equal to the Fatherland There are twenty million of us, Killed, not returned from the war. Where in the clouds a rock scar is gaping, At any hour from the sun to the moon The bell rang above us. And the rumble of the wedding is pouring from the height. And although the military enlistment offices wrote off, But the enemy will have to take into account, That the dead soldiers will go to battle, too, When the living alarm calls. Be repellent, adov godina. But we are ready on the front line, Resurrected,                once again perish to one, So that no one alive will die there. And you should, worrying about many things, Before the evil, not stepping back, On our untainted conscience Worthy to hold the equal. Live long, live righteously, Aspiring the whole world to the fellowship                                      count, And neither of the nations blaspheme, Keeping his own honor at the zenith. What names are not on the tombstones! All their tribes were left by their sons. There are twenty million of us, Killed, not returned from the war. Falling stars flicker call alarm, And the branches of willows are weeping. The bell rang above us, And the rumble of the wedding is pouring from the height.

Further explanation of NAMES (If you are interested with this topic, plz comment below the names that you are most keen to know!!) Brief Introduction of me: I'm a Chinese girl who have been addicted to TKA since the anime came out. I've read the Chinese version for 2 times. (Can't believe I did it.) I'll start with members of Happy Team. (Is it the correct translation? I didn't read the English version...) I believe that there is no need to mention YX and Su Mucheng as Charlatan has already done a great job. [Tang Rou唐柔] Tang is her family name, and it doesn't have a specific meaning here. And 'Rou' means 'gentle' in Chinese. After her birth, her parents hoped she would become a gentle and elegant female. But the reality is... I believe that you all know well about her personalities. Besides, her character name is Soft Mist(寒烟柔). The word 'soft' refers to 'Rou' in her real name. [Luo Ji罗辑] The pronunciation of his name is almost the same as 'logic'. In Chinese, the translation of 'logic' is '逻辑'. As you can see, these two are very similar to each other, which refers to his talent in mathematics. [Mo Fan莫凡] He name has nothing special. Because 'Fan凡' means ordinary. However, I'd like to talk about his character name 'Deception'. The Chinese version is '毁hui人ren不bu倦juan', which comes from a Chinese idiom '诲hui人ren不bu倦juan'[teaching students without feeling tired]. These two has almost the same pronunciation with only a slight difference in tone. The original idiom is used to praise a great teacher who commits himself to education. However, the funny thing is, the first character is changed from 'teaching' to 'destroying'. Therefore, the character name of Mo Fan, is actually a reflection of all the disturbing things he had ever done to other ordinary players in Glory. These are the names I found with interesting meanings in Happy Team. As a non-native English speaker, I did my best! Hope you'll like it!

TKA has a good balance between in-game events and what happens outside of it. Characters have enough depth to them and the world feels alive, not just centered around what the MC does. There's a clear line drawn between game and reality. Overall the best game-centered novel I've read, would recommend to others.
