THE INEVITABLE HIM

A one night stand with a White waitress in a club was all it took to make him. He had no father but an owner he had. He owned him..turned him into the demon he is now. At the age of eight, he killed the humanity and love he had. "To make you strange and a worthy successor. I don't need any weakling." Akim always roared at him. The day he died the Devil got a free ticket to leave South Africa for good. Revenge from their rival Mafia gang was not in his plans. He wouldn't shed the blood of his people. He needed the for something better. To build a legitimate global empire. He worked his ass of to be a better version than Akim had in mind. He would own it all, by any means necessary. The world wasn't fair so don't blame him if he stumbled on you in the course of fulfilling his plans. You needed to keep up to be able to work for or with him. He had a family, though not perfect, the gang always had his back and so did he. At the age of twenty -six, Lucifer as he was popularly known by his close men was the most eligible bachelor, and the youngest richest business man in the country and beyond. He said it and he did it yet, there was always something else to do. Something better. He might be crazy for wanting to conquer the world, but that was his plan. Lucifer was never the type to run, he never backed down....and though a tiny part of him wanted to, he couldn't. His demons were part of him. He was his own devil. The part of him which thrilled at the site of violence and smiled at the pains and fear in the eyes of others strived and dominated his soul. He wanted out but who was he kidding, his demons were his source of power. Power, which sucks humanity out of him. Lucifer had made his name in the Europeans countries, but he felt that there would be much profit and a fulfilling tap into the culture of Africa which would in no doubt be a jackpot for him. He was a business man and so knew his fact. Africa....he dreaded and loved. He was sure of his target..where else but Ghana..a foreign environment. He was yet to find out that Ghana would give him the encounter of his life.... Kara, popularly called Nana is the "unwanted" bastard of the Agyemang family. Her mother Esther got pregnant with her white boyfriend during her college years overseas. Her mother came home with a baggage instead of the promised degrees. Being the daughter of a strict African home, ones thought would be to disappear for good and bear the shame alone. The family frowned upon her actions, turned their backs on her and was disowned by her father. Single handedly, with help from her uncle, her mother raised her to become a typical Ghanaian child. Even with her fair skin and brunette hair...she was in no doubt a Ghanaian by actions. Many often got confused yet her calm nature and respect for every custom of the society irrespective of it's flaws made her Ghanaian. Kara lived her life like a story being told. She drew her plans from the moment Uncle Kwesi sat her down and told her of the story behind her birth and why she didn't have a father or a large family. She knew who her father was. At least she had a picture of him, a picture shut away. She was satisfied with having her mom and uncle in her life. They enough for her, she convinced herself. Nana's greatest fear is repeating her mother's mistake...Don't get her wrong, she respected her mom immensely, she was by far the strongest woman she had ever know. That didn't change the fact that she would like to write some of her wrongs. Nor did it change the feeling which ate her up all the time...She was an accident and that was something that even she couldn't make right. Being the child of a single mother in a Ghanaian society, there was a lot to do and not do. No matter the amount of wealth, the society would always see you as the daughter of the unmarried woman and hence, you are required to put in much effort to everything you do. Kara wanted her mom to know n feel that her birth was her biggest achievement

CHAPTER 9: Fate or Planned

Lucifer sat in his office in New York City. He was engrossed in his work as he had piles of files to go through. He rolled up his sleeves. Hakeem had been transferred to the office in Boston. Along with him, he took his Blondie. He wondered why Hakeem hadn't replaced her yet. He didn't keep his lovers close to him and Lucifer hated the idea of female intrusion into his work. Hakeem's efficiency meant a lot to the company. His friend going to manage Boston was key in his plan. He was a patient man, and what do they say, "Patients moves mountains". he would surely get whatever he wanted. He always did. He grabbed his phone and walked to his transparent glass walls which showed the beautiful sites of the busy streets of New York.

The streets and gigantic buildings stared back at him. He held the phone to his ears. " Yes, have you seen the email I just sent?" He nodded to the response he received from the person on the other line. " Right, I will fly to Los Angelos in an hour so that we officially seal it up. Sure, no problem ". He cut the line. For weeks, Lucifer had been trying to get the Major of LA to sign a deal with him. He just needed to buy the sea for Christ sake. He had gotten many other offers from private companies.

Some were even ready to sell their beach resort to him but he wanted that particular spot which were in the clutches of the government. He wanted what his competitors didn't have. One which was close to the public's eyes and heart. He had to even entertain Regina, the daughter of the Major who was a spoiled brat, a pain in the neck just to get the beach from George. He needed to peacefully seal and later, he could do whatever he wanted.

Kara threw herself into the couch the moment she got to the apartment. Paro was seated leg folded Indian style in the adjacent sofa watching one of her Indian seriously. Her favorite so far," Privtiv Vallab". She unconsciously extending her cup of popcorn to an exhausted Kara who took a handful and gulp down the bottle of water which sat on the table. "You are late again". Kara said not taking her eyes off her movie. The two friends found themselves having their internship at REFICUL's DESYNES. One of the biggest fashion companies in the world. Park was in the fashion and design department, Kara on the other hand was in the administration department and the personal assistant to the CEO, Hakeem Liver. She was sure of a lot of things, except that she wondered if all bosses stressed their PA's as much as she was being stressed. Paro paused the movie and went to bring some iced cream from their huge fridge.

" Take and pour out all your frustration. I know I did. It's my third round now. Helene is fucking authoritative. That ugly bitch talk as if I'm an amateur at my job. I feel like strangling her. She should go fuck herself!!" Kara laughed at her friends funny frustration. Helene must really be a pain for Paro to curse and badmouth her, she thought. Helene was the director of the Fashion and Design department at REFICUL's. For the past three weeks since they started their internship, Paro have had countless unpleasant encounters with her.

Hearing from her friend, the lady was quite a control freak. She had her own troubles so the last thing she would want is to meet such a lady. Not even by an accident. She believed that the lady was just insecure of Park's natural talent. "Maybe she feels threatened by you sis". Kara blurted out her thoughts whilst enjoying her ice cream.

Paro quickly nodded in agreement. " She does, a lot. Not only as a designer but as a woman too. I know what goes on in her mind everything she lay eyes on me." She pointed the spoon at her her as if it was a sword which was using to thrust Helena. She cut and strike an invincible person in the air with her spoon. Kara giggled at her friend's behavior. So usual of her, she thought. " You know that for the past three years, I have been interning in Law firms. I don't know but Professor Jaek suggested that I make use of my last year's internship in the business world.

He recommended REFICUL'S and turns out, it's not far from this place. I'm learning a lot, really...I kinda didn't expect to learn so many things because it isn't a law firm.

Turns out, being a business lawyer means actually doing business. But Paro....gosh..Hakeem is insatiable. I learnt that he is the right hand man of the real boss Adriel Oralnos"...Paro interjected quickly. " Oralnos.... I know him." Kara looked at her friend impressed. Kara had read, actually researched a lot on REFICUL'S chain of business.

She even found out about one of their shopping companies in Ghana as well as two of their five star hotels in Ghana, established four yours ago. She was amazed, that a lot was going on for her people. Strangely. she had found no records of Adriel Oralnos except for his name. All the hours she spent reading on his works and achievement and desperate hope to get a gist of who the man was all went to the dust. Now, finally, her best friend confess that she knows the man." What kept you from telling me this all this while?" Kara glared and shouted at her friend making Paro jerk and spill her ice cream. "

Look at what you have done to my ice cream ". Paro complained making sure to lose all eye contact with her. Paro finally laughed after using some minutes to tend to her ice cream. " Chill. I did say that I know him..but not personally". Paro spoke. "OK...okay" Kara said disappointed. He partnered with my Dad to host a fashion show in Delhi a few years ago. I think I was eighteen then. I saw him and Dad speaking from afar. It was blurred and flashy with cameras going hey y in the air so I didn't get to actually see him but is definitely NOT an old man". Paro emphasized on "NOT" Kara looked at her in confusion.

"I know...it's possible... but still...how can he be the richest business man God...in the world if I'm right. He ranks first place". Kara exclaimed I'm amazement to which Paro nodded. " Yesss...guess what.." She said...Kara keenly listened. "What?" She anxiously asked."Hakeem is even older than him" Paro let out. Kara looked at her friend in disbelief. She wondered if she actually knew what she was talking about or she was just pulling her leg. That would not be surprising. Paro on the other hand was happy to be giving her friend all the juice she had." If I'm correct Adriel Oralnos is only in his late twenties. Well....according to my Dad. I don't know his specific age though. Oralnos is his name on paper, buy his real name is unknown and there are no records on his family or anything... no personal life. He does well to keep everything private. Daddy loved working with him though. He is accurate. punctual, precise ...the man is business itself. What he does is to make money. All these are dad's words not mine. Adriel Oralnos snaps his fingers and an idea is out in action. Paro snapped her thumb and middle finger together and smiled at her attentive friend. Kara took off her blouse and pushed aside her four inches heel which she was required to wear.

Paro took a pen and a paper from Kara's hung bag. "Do you know his code name". Kara shook her heard. " No...wait...what's it for anyway...? Kara asked.
