The day he died the Devil got a free ticket to leave South Africa for good. Revenge from their rival Mafia gang was not in his plans. He wouldn't shed the blood of his people. He needed the for something better. To build a legitimate global empire. He worked his ass of to be a better version than Akim had in mind. He would own it all, by any means necessary. Lucifer was never the type to run, he never backed down....and though a tiny part of him wanted to, he couldn't. His demons were part of him. He was his own devil. The part of him which thrilled at the site of violence and smiled at the pains and fear in the eyes of others strived and dominated his soul. He wanted out but who was he kidding, his demons were his source of power. Power, which sucks humanity out of him. Lucifer had made his name in the Europeans countries, but he felt that there would be much profit and a fulfilling tap into the culture of Africa which would in no doubt be a jackpot for him. Many often got confused yet her calm nature and respect for every custom of the society irrespective of it's flaws made her Ghanaian. Kara lived her life like a story being told. She drew her plans from the moment Uncle Kwesi sat her down and told her of the story behind her birth and why she didn't have a father or a large family. She knew who her father was. At least she had a picture of him, a picture shut away. She was satisfied with having her mom and uncle in her life. They enough for her, she convinced herself. Nana's greatest fear is repeating her mother's mistake...Don't get her wrong, she respected her mom immensely, she was by far the strongest woman she had ever know. Being the child of a single mother in a Ghanaian society, there was a lot to do and not do. No matter the amount of wealth, the society would always see you as the daughter of the unmarried woman and hence, you are required to put in much effort to everything you do. CHAPTER 10: Fate or Planned 2

Paro wrote "REFICUL" boldly on the piece of paper. "Read it backwards". She told her friend who took the paper and did as she was told. " LUCIFER"? Kara raised a brow at her friend. "He calls himself Lucifer? That's his code name or whatever.... Why on earth would someone want to be called the devil?" Kara said perplexed. Paro took the paper and crumpled it. "It's actually no news. a lot of people use that name. It's like a fashion. Except for the fact that Adriel Oralnos owns 'Lucifer's HELL', the most classiest night club in New York City. Austin and I went there once. Gosh...I don't think that you need the details of how our night was." Paro spoked, salivating tone. Kara however cringed and made a confused face. She didn't know who her boss was but one thing was for sure, she had a very bad feeling about the man.

Paro on the other hand was enjoying the faces that Kara was making. She enjoyed her smartass friend's confusion and maybe later, she would enjoy her fear. She smiled and continued. " Rumour has it that he earned the name. I mean seriously, no one can be so young and fucking rich with no roots. Narnar....." , Paro called Kara getting her look straight into her eyes. Thoughts of Paro getting her name wrong again had disappeared this time and Paro smiled know perfectly that her friend would kill to correct her for her bad pronunciation of her native name that very instance. Paro smiled spoke in a hiss, making a drama of everything as she normally do.

"Do you want to meet the Devil himself? Do you even want to work for him? I know that you my friends will surely join....who will you join Jesus in heaven but...." Kara could not help but interject her friend.

" Wait what? Jesus? What the are you trying to say Parvati. Meet Jesus in heaven.... "

Paro smiled sheepishly. " Jesus is in heaven because he never sinned so I'm trying to say that you will join him. What don't you understand? " Paro exclaimed.

Kara scratched her templed as is she was stressed or had heard a bad news. "Christ...Paro...please no. Don't talk about religion okay? At least another character in the Bible will done. One that you actually know of his route and story. Please...." Kara cried.

"Okay,...Jake...Jaob...fuck what's his name...."Paro struggled in getting another righteous man in the Bible Kara came to her rescue.

" Job?" Kara asked to which friend snapped her fingers.

"Yesssss...Job. The most righteous and blameless man.

Anyway, my point is that you my friend will surely go and join Job up there. Do you want to jeopardize that by work for the Devil? Mmm? He is a living devil....do you want to work for him?" Paro whispered. She gave a short dramatic wicked laugh. Kara jerked,. She realized that she was actually starting to believe her friend and Paro was taking so much delight in teasing her. She threw a cushion at her friend.

Paro on the other hand couldn't contain her laughter. " Oh God, I just scared the shit out of you Kara". Kara glared and threw another cushion to hit Paro's head. This time, she hit her target. She packed her things to leave the living room to go wash down. " Jokes aside sis, everything I said is true, oh yh...except for my whispers. That's all I know about the man. But hay, don't judge a book by it's cover right?" Paro added to which Kara rolled her eyes and entered her room. " Take and shower, a quick one and come back. I won't wait for you. Pizza will arrive soon " Paro shouted to which Kara replied with an "Okay".

Kara was a but distraught as she laid on her bed that night. Park's words, though she meant to tease, kept her awake. She would be lying to herself if she said she hadn't heard the name 'Lucifer' before. Three years ago, she had an encounter with a foreigner who went by the same name. Six weeks ago, a man called Lucifer shot someone straight in the heart. She was saved, brought home, but a soul was lost and a murder committed.

The next day, she waited to hear any news of the incident but nothing of such happened. The day went by like any other day and whatever she experienced became her little secret. One which still hunts her. Even after confessing to Pastor Nathan, Kara still had nightmares of the incident. Sighing, she opened her Holy Bible to Jeremiah 29:11. She read out load. " For I know the plans I have for you says the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future" . She looked up and mumbled a short prayer. "God, you know me inside and out. You know every fibre of my being, every part of my brain and every chamber of my heart. You know my strength and my weaknesses. Lord, help me overcome my weaknesses, my fears. Amen".

It was early in the morning, Hakeem was already in his office, having a serious conversation with Lucifer over the phone. " You are lunching the resort this weekend? That was quick Luci." Blondie entered, waiting for Hakeem to acknowledge her presence. Hakeem caught her gaze and went back to his conversation with Lucifer. "Alright. We will be there. See you soon". He hung up and glared at Blondie. She wore a red tight dress which travelled to her mid thigh. Her cleavage was at Hakeem's disposal. She pursed her lips and stood, appealing sexually to Hakeem. He knew that look, Blondie for the past two months has been Hansen's fucking buddy. On a second thought, he was starting to regret everything. The girl didn't know when to and when not to work now.

" What do you think you are wearing?" He roared, making her jerk and almost strip on her four and half inch heel." I thought ....you..would.." Hakeem interjected Blondie. " You thought what, that I would appreciate my secretary dressed like a whore when it's working hours? Just because you are my fucking sex toy?!!" He barked and regretted shout so loud for Kara who had with his coffee to hear. Kara was startled. The science definitely not what she pictured so early in the morning. She stood still and uttered and innocent apology for intruding. " I'm sorry sir...I thought I could come in.." Get out!!" Hakeem ordered. Kara quickly turned to leave. "No, not you..." Hakeem sighed, frustrated. "What are you still doing here Blondie? Get your ass out of here and get a dress to wear." He hissed at the embarrassed girl. She left quickly, not before giving Kara a deadly glare.

Kara walked to Hakeem's desk and gently settled his coffee on it. She tried explaining her intrusion earlier. " I am sorry sir. but I knocked .....". Hakeem paused with a wave of his hand, brushing the matter off. " I never complained " He sipped on his coffee whilst looking at her. " Leave office in a hour after u reschedule every meeting we have today. We are Leaving for Los Angelos in 3 hours". Hakeem ordered. Kara gave saucer eyes. "What? Sir....?" She almost exclaimed. Hakeem stopped drinking his coffee. "Do you have a problem?" He demanded. Kara shook her head. "No...Sir. There's no problem". As if she had a choice, Kara screamed inwardly....she just lost her weekend to who knows who.....
