I have a lot to say about this story, but I’ll include a short version for people who glance at reviews instead of reading all of them to completion. The Hitting Zone is a slice of life story, and I love everything about it! That’s it, I hope to make a more comprehensive review without making a summary or another synopsis. Writing Quality is a bit vague and hard to quantify, so I’ll do some more explaining. English is my first language, and the writing of this story is better than some of my classmates. I have no issues to bring up about this. Some stories have a higher reading level and showcase a lot more vocabulary. Sometimes those stories can be too much, which is another reason why I like this story. The writing style matches the tones and themes of the story. That is why I believe it deserves full marks. Stability of Updates is much ******r. Since I began reading, I’ve seen at least one chapter released each day. Seeing two released in a day isn’t uncommon either. Five stars. Story Development is a bit more nebulous as well. Though when looking at things objectively, not much has been accomplished. I would say that the story has shown three major plot points so far. Though these moments are major because the are key to the development of the main character. What makes this hard is that this is a Slice of Life. It is hard to say, but four stars. Character Design, I feel more indifferent about this. Characters don’t show very much depth beyond that our main ‘crew’. That isn’t to say that I don’t like reading about other characters or anything. It’s just that they are people, and nothing else. I suppose you could argue that this is a Slice of Life and that is the point, and in real life people are much less complex. Generally speaking. So this is why I feel like four stars is a reasonable compromise. World Background, I feel similarly apathetic. The world of,”The Hitting Zone” is our world. California, USA to be exact. Nothing special. Again, this is Slice of Life. So I decided to make the same compromise. Four stars. In conclusion,”The Hitting Zone” is a Slice of Life through and through. For what it is, it’s quality is among the highest here on WebNovel or anywhere else. It’s been a joy too read and I feel grateful and lucky that I found it, and that the author chooses to put their work out there. I’m looking forward to reading more!

Easily the best sports novel on webnovel.. Reminds me a bit of Sandra Bullocks "The Blind Side"... The story is moving at a good pace and even though the chapters are a bit shorter than most novel the quality of the writing makes up for it... This novel can go on for a long long long long time and will still be enjoyable up until the time as Jake is immortalized into the MLB Hall of Fame and the story finishes

Ha ha, I told you that I'll also read this one. I liked it just as much as your other work. It was honestly a refreshing read. From my point of view, there was not one useless dialogue here, no unnecessary info dumb, every little thing that was mentioned came back later. At some point I even forgot he had to go to a psychologist, it was a pleasant surprise to see it happening. I gotta say that seeing the protagonist, our dear Bambi, slowly integrate and interact with the Atkins was really heartwarming. Overall I absolutely recommend this to anyone that's tired of nonsensical plots, of mc's that think with their third leg. The story and character development is definitely there and man, it's really been a while since I have seen a character that's not made out of cardboard. I don't think there's any fella in the story that I dislike (leaving aside Bambi's biological family), expect maybe . . . one, but I won't mention who though -cough- Chris -cough- There's one thing I've noticed throughout the story and that really stuck out to me, Mr. Atkins' past, that caught me by surprise. The books where the parents actually get a 'past' of their own are few and far between. I absolutely love Mr. and Mrs. Atkins personalities. And since I really began to like them, I really dread them finding his biological dad. I can almost see him popping out of some hole when Bambi makes a name for himself in the baseball world or him meeting his brother beforehand on the baseball field, that would be some crazy sh!t. All in all I really like the story, what can I say more? Keep up the good work. **. I don't think I will ever be able to stop calling Bambi, Bambi, the nickname really stuck.

Great story that even those who dont know baseball can read😉 perfect english, which is a bonus compared to other novels out there. Good charachter building and moderate pace of the story with emphasis on emotions rather than the usual level up and getting stronger theme of many other novels. A great change which i hope many more will appreciate💕 No bad feedback to give to you author, I love it all👍🏻

this novel is good, the only thing I find 'bad' is that the chapters are too short ...............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

what a novel. It's the best novel I have seen which gives you hope and inspiration , this Mc has struggles any teenager has. The novel hits the right spots in the most important parts and often out stripes many current novels that are published. It's a must read.

it is a story of overcoming adversity and contains loads of emotional scenes. baseball plays no important role. it is not a sports centres novel. but a very good novel nonetheless. but I grew tired of the mc. I came here for baseball. not my cup of tea but read it anyway. I cant help but praise the author for the novel. give it a read. you will understand the core theme of the novel.

it's a nice read about someone's life and baseball at the same time, of course it's not something I would consider realistic but still a nice read. I can imagine this having an anime Adaption which in my opinion would be on par with major/ace of diamonds just that the focus is a bit lesser on baseball but also on Jakes life Would gladly read the novel as more chapter comes. thanks for the novel author and hopefully you don't rush it / leave it.

I just want to start off by saying I really, really, enjoy reading your novel. It's the best sports novel I have read on this site and is definitely in the top five sports novels/manga/anime I have read/watched. I haven't been following this novel for very long, just binge-read it for a few days, so I can't really say on the stability of updates. Though with there being over 800 chapters in around two years, I think it should be pretty stable. The writing quality is also pretty good overall, with only a few grammar errors here and there that don't usually disrupt the reading flow. [Disclamer: May contain spoilers] Moving on, I love your characters! From Jake and the rest of the Atkins to Jeremy, they all fit well into the story and have something to contribute. I also want to give a shoutout to all the Atkins for helping Jake so much in his healing process and being so supportive and loving. Jeremy too, for trying his best to be a good brother to Jake to make up for all those missed years (I'm still mad about what the uncle did though). Of course, my favorite character is still Jake. Through these hundreds of chapters, Jake has had a lot of character development, improving especially well in his emotional development, which I feel proud of him for because of how far he's come since the beginning. Some thoughts/questions I sometimes have on my mind when reading: If Jake had gotten away from that woman early on in his childhood (let us say at 3 years old when his brother got away with his uncle), how good would he be at baseball? Like would he be able to show off more talent, or would he be worse at batting because of not being able to constantly bat at the batting cages? A question outside of the plot (kinda); So let's not even think about after Jake graduates from high school and goes to college or the majors and just focus on the time in high school. If only six months have passed since the beginning of the story, and there are 818 chapters already, I'm not sure how many chapters there'll be by the end of high school, not to mention Jake's life passed that if you (author) continue the story. Granted, there was world-building, family drama, and some other things that extended the number of chapters, but still, like, there are over 800 chapters already. I worry for the number of years to come for the novel, not that I won't read. Kudos to the author for being so amazing and writing this story, thanks :)

Its good plain and simple. There is multiple reasons to me why it is Good, but i have to say the main two reasons are The Character Development, and the Writing. Every character gets kind of fleshed out in there own way and its good that the story is not repeating itself, and other than Jake i would have to say Jeremy is my favorite character, and develops perfectly into a caring older brother.

I really enjoy this novel! This type of novel wouldn’t usually be my kind of pick but this one has got me totally hooked! The characters and their development, the storyline, the baseball, just everything is amazing and makes it all seem so real and like the characters are really alive. Everything is just so interesting and I'm loving it!

The only reason I'm using this app. The only novel I spent money on. This is a one of a kind novel. It's slow, yes. But it's my kinda slow. Awesome work Author.

This series is extremely good. There's no far-fetched nonsense and it's really realistic, but at the same time really entertaining. The character development is fabulous and the plot progresses smoothly. It feels almost as if you are growing up along side the characters. You get to see every aspect of their lives, but it still somehow always feel as if it is about baseball. I have never been the type to read sport novel, but this story has changed my mind (but now it's hard to find things up to this standard lol).

This novel is really good. I didn't regret reading this even tho that I don't have any interest in baseball but when started reading this it piqued my interest to continue this novel. I highly recommended it.

this is one of my most favorite novels out there. It is deserving of a 5 star without a doubt. Honestly I wanted to give the updating stability a 4 but that would have decrease the rating. So I couldn't bear to. I'm just happy that the author is updating. It's just that it's the kinda novel where even if you knew it won't update you will still check 3 or 4 times a day. And the novel being original makes it even more awesome ( as well as sad because I can't machine translate it). Anyway this novel is worth your time and definitely deserves a read.....It even compelled me to write my first review ever (except the school project).
