Lance and the Bet

I already back in my room and wash my body. My body is filled by monster blood and my cloth is shred so much. The good thing is my body don't have any injuries. None of the monster can pierce my body skin at all. Of course that hound and scorpion monster is another story.

In that fight when hound and scorpion monster come at me, I immediately change place with Grid. Because of that the only monster that I fight is the wolves, the bear, the rabbit, the deer and the lizard. None of them can harm my body at all.

But unlike me, Darvan is have many wound in his body. Even though he has a powerful body but in the end he don't have a body like me. Grid is also injured, but it's not so much. I see how he fight and I can say he fight like a dancing. He make the monster hard to catch him.

The three of us already say that we will take our rewards at the same time. We will take our rewards tomorrow in the morning.

"Hmm.. It' almost afternoon huh. Let's go to the cafeteria now. We promise to meet in the cafeteria after we've done wash and tend our body injuries." (Rudeus)

Maybe because I don't get any injuries at all so I'm the first one whose arrive in the cafeteria. I look around and found and empty sit and wait for both of them.

Not long after, both of them is arrive and I call them immediately. We begin to order and have our meal together.

Both of them stare at me at the same time.

"What ? Why both of you stare at me like that ?" (Rudeus)

"Are you fine Rudeus ? Don't you have any kind of injuries ? Look at me, my hand, my leg and even my body is full of bandage. But I see nothing in you" Darvan said with astonished face.

"Yeah, I receive a few wound but is nothing much like Darvan." Grid add

"Well you see, I already told both you right that my body battle skill is become stronger. So none of the monster can hurt my body at all. Beside the monster like hound and scorpion I give it to Grid and that golem I give it to you Darvan" (Rudeus)

Both of them look at each other and Grid said "I know but still.. it's hard to believe that your body is fine after all of that."

"Yeah Rudeus, I even see some of them bite your leg at the same time and then the bear hit you hard. Are you saying that you are find after all of that ?" (Darvan)

"Well.. yeah... You should know right that my body is really hard, that's why I take so many subjection mission before." I said that nonchantlantely and raise my arms and shoulder at the same time.

Both of them look each other again and then shake their head at the same time.

We focus on our meal and chat a few things. But most it is about the monster tide.

"You know what, they say that Lance is doing something crazy in the monster tide." (Grid)

Me and Darvan look into Grid and said "What did he do ?"

"They say that he kill many monster alone and even guard the spot that left behind by others team" (Grid)

"What ? Do you mean he finish the entire waves alone ?" (Rudeus)

"Well you can say like that. The spot he guard is close to the gate, where many of supply team in and out to distribute the supply and tend a Warrior injuries. But because he is there the supply team can do their own work without delay. Even the guards praise him so many times"

"Geez.. what the hell was that ? Is see really a first year like us ?" (Rudeus)

"If he really can do that alone, is that mean he already become level 5 warrior ?" (Darvan)

"I don't know if he become level 5 or not, but seems like he keep improving faster than any first year student" (Grid)

"That's quite weird." (Rudeus)

"What do you mean Rudeus ?" (Darvan)

"Did both of you do not feeling weird about it ? If I remember he enter the Academy when he just level 2 Warrior but now he already that strong in just a month or maybe in a few weeks. If he truly that talented why he only level 2 Warrior when he enter the Academy. If he that talented he can become like level 4 or maybe level 5 in those three years after he awaken. I don't believe if you told me that he lack any resource to do that" (Rudeus)

"It's true. What you said is right Rudeus. Why is that huh ?" (Darvan)

Grid look around us and then said to us in low voice that it almost like a whisper "Actually I heard a rumor about him. It's said that he make a bet with someone that he can not become level 3 Warrior before he enter the Academy"

"Huh..." Me and Darvan said it quite loudly

"Shhh..." Grid try to make us quite down.

I look around and then said with low voice "What the hell ? Is he a stupid or what ? How can he agree something like that ?"

"I don't know. But the rumor said the bet is important to him" Grid answer with a low voice.

"Hmm..." (Rudeus)

After that we talk a few other thing too and we finished our meal. Because both of them still have their injuries so we just get back to our own room. Darvan's dorm room is in the opposite direction of ours so he left after saying good bye. It just me and Grid.

Our dorm is on the same direction so we walk together. But then Grid said something which make me surprise

"Congrats Rudeus, seems like you getting stronger huh. I never thought that you will become level 4 Warrior when we fight." (Grid)

"Huh.." I look at him and said "Thanks grid. It's quite unexpected actually. I don't even know when I rank up. After all I kept busy fight with the monster." I scratch my head

"I see. I'm a bit surprise when your body glow in the middle of fight and then I see you become level 4 Warrior." (Grid)

"Hahaha.. Thanks Grid." (Rudeus)

"Welcome. But actually is not just you Rudeus. Darvan is become stronger too. Maybe in just a few week he will become level 5. All of us receive so many merit this time, I believe every student will improve so much." (Grid)

"Really ? that's good then. What about you Grid ?" (Rudeus)

"Well, I think I will have my chance too" Grid respond with smile

"I see. Hmm.. I never though is almost two month since we enter the Academy. All of us is getting stronger" I said

"Yeah. See you then Rudeus, don't forget to go to Mission Area Tomorrow" (Grid)

"Ok, see you Grid" I wave at him then see the sky again and thought "I never thought it's been almost two month since I come to this huh.."
