Rise.

It was around mid night, and finally we were about to sleep.

The moment my body touched the bed I was off. And like always I was standing in the same place, 'well that's different.' my emotions where in turmoil. In front of me the neon like screen that I have come to despise for causing me so much grief was... Different. After almost a year! it's finally different. 'is it a year, do I get a point every year? Or maybe its-' as I stand there contemplating the space around me shakes, before long am back outside with the sound of a baby crying.

I wake up and look at the large baby basket on the table besides the bed.

Standing in front of her I can already tell the issue. 'that's a mighty stench you've got there.

Picking her up I slowly take off the spoiled cloth acting as a diaper, pulling another out from under the bed, I slowly start cleaning Amethyst up, before laying her down on the clean diaper on the floor.

With a sigh I pick her up and place her back in the basket. Turning back I notice Sana is awake, 'this little bitch!'

Too tired to argue to much I simply lay on the bed muttering to her. "so you couldn't have helped me, and instead chose to watch?" She shuffles into my embrace, only laughing at my words.

Before long day light came and just like that another day starts.

...

The day moves as usual and before long am back on the bed playing with Amethyst in my arms. Sana soon comes over and takes away for feeding. She falls asleep in her arms, soon we followed suit.

I wake up again in my mental void and like last time I received a surprise.

....

"Its definitely the baby!" I can't help but get excited at the thought.

'I can't believe I got the more children more blessings system!' I look back at the large screen thinking what to use my points on. Last time I had rushed my choice and although it was a good choice I had regretted it a few times.

'no, for now I should just hold on to them.' The count down begins and am thrown out. But this time I wake up with a smile.

And like that a day starts and soon it ends , soon the days turn to weeks then months and slowly a year passes.

.....

The year is 109 and Sana is pregnant with our second child, the pregnancy is already in its later months, and Sana is expected this or the next week.

Currently I was at home taking care of her, I had already asked the chief for a few days off to take care of her, I had wanted her mother to move in to help, but her bastard husband had refused.

That man was getting on my nerves, he would come over asking for shit, but he couldn't even help his daughter.

'Sigh.' Wiping my mind from those thoughts I continue massaging Sana's legs. Recently they have been swelling, and I did this to make her feel better it didn't lessen the swelling but it reduced her stress.

On the floor a little Amethyst was playing with some wooden toys I had bought for her, the little thing was in her own world.

Suddenly Sana groaned, and looking at her I notice the small wet spot on her crotch. Hurrying to the door, "Matt call her!" Matt one of the neighbourhood kid was good at relaying message.

"It's coming, it's coming, it's coming- " Sana was mumbling while holding her belly.

"Hold on they should be here in a short while." I reassured her. And not long after Anna rushed in forgetting to even knock.

"huh, help me place her on the bed..." she said helping her up.

Noticing the elderly nun was not around I asked her. "Where is the Nun?"

Turns out the am not the only family in labour today.

...

After another exhausting wait. Anna comes out with a large smile. "its a boy!" she shouts with a contagious excitement.

Laughing at the great news, rushed in. Sana was looking much happier than me, she was even crying.

Before I can get close a horn sound throughout the village.

"what is that?" I asked in wander.

Anna on the other hand looks mortified by the sound. "its the war horn."

"War!" I had forgotten what time am in, peace, here was a luxury, and the fact that I had spent two years without hearing about it was an actual miracle.

....

In the village square a man wearing chain mail announces the situation.

Apparently the Ratey kingdom was going to war with a neighbouring kingdom called the state of Sarion, a merchant kingdom if I remember correctly.

Apparently Sarion had crossed the borders illegally and was mining in 'our' lands. Every village was required to support this war endeavour with every able bodied man.

Rushing to the front I quickly enquired, "my lord am a blacksmith I wish to-"

"No need, if you wish to change position you will have to talk with the logistics, am but a messenger." With that the man got back on his horse and left.

In a few weeks a battalion of soldiers will march throw here, We will leave with them to head to the southern borders to take up station.

Getting back home my mood was soured. 'well at least I have a system with me, even if it only shows up when I sleep.'

Looking inside I find Sana feeding Amethyst porridge, while in her other hand a sleeping boy lay sucking on her. "Jac?" With a worried look she said.

Looking at her I couldn't help but give her a helpless smile. I sat down beside her before explaining what happened at the square.

Later Sana tried to distract me with small talk, asking me what I should name the new born, not being in the mood I settled on just naming him after me.

...

Night came, but my worries stayed. I couldn't even eat because of what happened, "Husband please eat something." Sana came closer picking up my spoon trying to feed me, with a helpless sigh, I took a bite before continuing on my own.

The night settled and I was bed thinking of the best course of action. My plan was try to get out of the battlefield and instead help out as a blacksmith. Honour, bravery and all that crap would do less in keeping me alive.

'That's unlikely though, if we begin to lose this war I will still end up on the battlefield, and I will die.' I thought to myself. Being pessimistic would only worsen my mood but being optimistic would probably kill me instead.

Before I could sleep something came to me, 'am a bloody blacksmith I can just make my own weapon. Sitting up on the bed I quickly get dressed.

"Where are you going?" Sana looked up at me as I left. Her face was the definition of worrying.

"I will be back later, I just need to check something at the smith. Don't wait up. " I said not even looking back as I left the house.
