If I die then screw it

Omni POV

Laying on the cold dirt floor, Jacob was asleep, this had been his third nap through out the night. he had been forging then falling asleep repeatedly.

Every time he had made something he would fall asleep. this was done to test his theory with the magic stat, and it had rung true. With the increase of his magic stat his enchant had moved from Sharpness 3 to 4, then 5.

At one point he had placed one point on strength, this was done to feel the significance of the other stats, sadly it seemed that more points would be needed to feel the effects.

A tired Jacob stirred awake, not wasting anytime he grabbed his hammer ready to continue, his hands were covered in bloody blisters with some that had already bust, but still he continued to work.

Soon another rod was pulled out from the furnace. Orange in glow, and holding it down on the anvil with clumps the hammer fell.

Jacob had learned that infusing his mana through the hammer would help him customize his creations with greater ease, but at the cost of a small amount of mana. To him it was a great deal.

Soon the blade was done, enchantments already placed he grabbed the soaked blade with his hands hoping it would get a new enchant.

'Greater Sharpness 1' the man thought. Saddened at the realisation that he wouldn't get the Fire aspect enchant any time soon.

With no more points to spend here decided to head home and get some rest. Grabbing the kunai he had just forged and stabbing it into the side of the anvil he was surprised by what he saw. The kunai had gone through the hard steel with great ease. Comparing the last dagger, and knife that had only gone in less than 4 and 6mm.

'Jackpot!' seeing this Jacob couldn't help but feel regret for the squandered point he had placed in strength.

While thinking of sword designs someone entered, "morning Jac, I need help with this." The man said pulling up a blunt plough blade.

'Fuck!'

Jac POV

As I entered the house I couldn't help but groan at the state of my unfortunate body, everyone in the village knew that I would be back to work when Sana gave birth, and due to the community I was in news travelled fast, and because of that everyone had brought each of their problems, which they had held back throughout the past two weeks, and it was a lot.

I looked at my wrapped up hands with a smile, I couldn't help but remember my wife's reaction at my blood hands. 'I think that's the first time she scolded at anyone.' I smiled at how stupid that was.

While thinking this Jacob saw Sana come out of the bedroom holding little junior.

"Jac! How are your hands." She walked over her face twisting into a frown.

I chuckled at her, the attention was refreshing. "Am fine, how about you, are feeling better?" I asked leaning over before giving her a kiss on the fore head.

As someone who wasn't accustomed to kissing she felt it was to intimate, proof of that was her blushing cheeks. "Am fine, better than when I had Amy" this was the new nickname for Amethyst.

"Speaking of which where is my little gem." I said not seeing her in the living room.

"Oh no, Amy!?" Sana rushed to the kitchen. I could here her screaming about how it was not cheap and that it was for everyone .

Peeking through the door I could see little Amethyst chewing on some of the meat jerky, one hand was being yanked while the other was still shaving something in her mouth.

Not having any of it anymore Sana started slapping Amethyst little hand, "bad girl, don't be such a glutton." I watched all this with a fatherly smile. My family, words I didn't dream of saying back in own world.

Amethyst feeling wrong started to cry. I couldn't help but sigh, while walking over and picking up the crying baby. "That's enough Sana I think she gets the point. Don't cry little Amy, here." I said grabbing a goat sausage from the wire. "You can have all the meat you want cause you are gonna be my little fatso!"

I walked out of the kitchen completely ignoring Sana's disapproving glare.

.....

It was morning again and time to start on that op sword's design. I had already placed my two new points in magic and was ready to test the effects.

Getting to the smith I handle the all the requests as fast as possible, luckily most of the work was done yesterday leaving the lazy customers to come in today.

By mid day I was already done and making another small blade to test the effects.

"Yeah I knew it wouldn't be that easy." I said to myself while inspecting the blade.

[Sharpness 2]

Two points and it had only gone up a level, I was expecting something like this so I wasn't that shocked.

After testing the blades sharpness a little I realise that there was no material hard enough to test the blades limit. "I think at this point I should focus on strength." I thought out loud.

"strength? I think you are plenty strong." A familiar voice comes of the door.

"Nun! How are you?" I asked with a smile on my face.

"Oh please, you are not a boy anymore, it's Lesy." She said with smile.

I smile back at her, "Mrs Lesy what brings you here?"

"You actually, after living so long you get to understand people easily." She said moving closer before grabbing my arm.

"Boy am begging you, don't be stupid and don't to smart. For you and your families safety just play along and hope you survive. The moment you try to run your family will be killed off!" she says with a dreadful gaze, her eyes where on the verge of tearing.

I couldn't help but ask what brought this own, but I didn't get to wait long. Apparently families and villages would be killed off if deserters where discovered.

....

After a long period of talking with Lesy I learn that my chances of survival where not looking good. I already knew my chances where low but hearing how low they where? It was scary.

I was on way home and I couldn't help but think of my next move, I wasn't the best planner or anything so the only thing I could do was put my faith in the points. It was either that or do some famously made fun of work outs, but with my current schedule I couldn't- 'what the hell am I thinking am about to head of to war and am still working like a slave!' I decided to head to the chiefs house tomorrow to get things sorted out.

....

Two weeks later at the village entrance large number of people had gathered, these weren't villagers, it was the company that was supposed to pass along here heading to the southern border.

By the looks of it, I would guess more than a thousand people where gathered.

"Alright this should everyone. March!" a man in stainless steel at the front shouts, we follow suit.

I had done all the preparation I could, but because I didn't know what I was in for I was still unsure. I felt like I was about to write an exam I didn't study for... That but times ten.

Looking around I notice am not the only one feeling like that. I had left a crying Sana and her mother, who luckily decided to come over to ask for shelter at my house. Let's face it Sana's mother would not make it alone on that farm.

But my family on the other hand was set. I had made sure to stock up on a lot of stuff, I had made a lot of merchants happy these past few days, but it was necessary.

'They will be fine, me on the other hand?' I thought grabbing wooden scabbard on my waist.

'screw it I made the most powerful sword in this time so if I die then fuck me!'
