Rise of the Criminals

Noah came directly home after the competition, it was a large interschool science competition the teachers had been pushing him to participate in. It was how he was able to get seven days off school with no repercussions.

Alice greeted him with a high and he did the same, they missed each other.

"How'd it go?" Alice asked.

"It went well, our school's team came in first," Noah answered.

Alice was happy and they did a small celebration together. They eventually ended up in the bedroom. Alice enjoyed entering the Eternal Battlefield so she liked sleeping as early as she could.

On the bed, Noah sat with his laptop. Alice slept next to him with her arms wrapped around him and hugging his leg.

Noah scrolled through the form seriously, the form was blowing up with posts as people were discussing news reports and online articles. All of them were after the beginning of the year, which was when the Eternal Battlefield opened.

Most of them were about crimes committed that had a relation to the Eternal Battlefield. On how they had seen criminals in the eternal battlefield. Even a person who had been recently executed on earth had multiple people saying they had seen him alive in the Eternal Battlefield.

One of the posts was about a kidnapping, where an apparent 'friend' locked another man up for ten days threatening to kill him if he didn't give him an item. News and media believed he was talking about some game, not knowing what the Eternal Battlefield was.

What was weirder was the man who had been imprisoned and abused took back all his charges and let his captor go.

It was pretty obvious to Noah why, even if they imprisoned the man on earth, he would still be free in the Eternal Battlefield. The two probably came to a deal, where the man gave the item and had nothing to do with him.

Things were worse than he expected, this was when only 11,110,000 people had entered from the 10 billion total population. Things would only get worse from now on.

Closing his laptop he put it on the side.

In the eternal battlefield, he had noticed the change in people as well. Many people weren't good enough to complete dungeons and were resorting to taking items from others.

In the capital city, most people were strong which was why his group hadn't been affected. As for the people who weren't, they weren't dumb enough to attack the people who were strong.

But in towns and smaller cities, the situation was different. He would have to go to other towns and cities to go to B Class dungeons all around the map. Over there, whenever he flew by he would feel the jealous gazes and bad intentions pointed at him.

Till now no one tried to attack him, but he was sure it wouldn't last long.

...

The next day, after the school day Kira looked at the students lined up in front of her. Vince now stood in the front.

She nodded satisfied, "Everyone, find a partner and practice what I taught you yesterday."

The students separated and Vince walked towards her, "Instructor, we have an odd number of students, the previous instructor would usually be my partner."

"I'll take his place then," Kira responded.

The two then stood facing each other, "Come grab me." Kira said staring at Vince.

Vince looked at the small Kira and grabbed her uniform ready to flip her. Then he noticed he wasn't able to.

Kira stood still, "Is that it?" Mocking him.

Vince took a step back, this time putting his everything, he felt Kira move, before he could tell, he was grabbed by his uniform and flipped upside down.

"Disappointing, again," Kira said with disapproval.

Vince's pride was poked, he stood up and tried again.

The lesson ended and Vince stared at Kira like he had seen a monster, that body smaller than him had more strength than he could imagine. She was probably even stronger than the previous instructor.

It made him like her even more, she was strong and beautiful. He said his goodbye and walked out.

Kira saw the last student leave then packed up and walked to building D. She had to go join Noah and Alice in their training session.

...

In building D she saw Alice laid back tired, Noah sat next to her fanning her with some cardboard that had been lying around.

Working out after a break was so difficult, she wasn't used to this life anymore. She got up seeing Kira, "Kira, you're here."

"What are you two doing?"

"Taking a break, we'll start again."

Kira was already ready, she liked training with the two. After teaching Alice a few things she got into a spar with Noah.

Her spinning kick swished past Noah's face, she then followed it up with another, which Noah ducked. She took a step back and punched out, then again. Noah was defending against everything she did.

The spar took a while as Kira kept getting faster and stronger with each hit. Noah was able to keep up with everything as his moments were fluid and precise. He did the minimum movement needed and predicted Kira's actions.

Seeing this, Kira went all out her kick's speed exponentially, Noah saw the speed and activated Cold Mind, he dodged the kick. Kira without delay followed with a combo of five more kicks, for each turning her body then followed by a final spin kick in the air.

Alice watching from the side couldn't even keep up with her eyes, Kira's movements were so fast. Each of her kicks seemed strong enough to break through stones.

Noah slid past the final kick twisting his body getting close then grabbed Kira's martial arts uniform, with a slight movement, she was flipped and thrown to the ground.

Kira stood up shocked, "Impossible... no way you could have dodged the last kick, it is physically impossible for a human being to dodge it. How did you do it?" Even her teacher wasn't able to dodge her combo of kicks. Each of the kicks were so quick and so closely followed by the other that by the last kick there was no way for the opponent to defend.

"Tell me how you did it, I want to know. Teach it to me." Kira felt her pride hurt, having Noah dodge them. They were the one thing she had always been confident in. She closed in on Noah pushing him back, not caring about personal space.

Noah laughed seeing Kira's reaction, "It's a secret, not something I can teach you," He walked past her.

Sitting at the side Alice realised what insane prodigies she was dealing with on a daily basis. This was the first time she had seen them go all out, it was mind-blowing to her. The two people in front of her hadn't been doing things that were possible by humans.

For a moment she felt like she was in the Eternal Battlefield, they had enough strength without any equipment or skills to fight D Class monsters. Fighting a D Class monster was similar to fighting a tank, they both had high fire power and armoured bodies. That meant Noah and Kira could take down a tank with their bare hands.

Noah got close to Alice and picked her up seeing her lost in thought, "What are you thinking about?"

"Could you take down a tank with your bare hands?" Alice asked directly.

"No, I would at least need a strong dagger or pistol. As well as some body armour in case the bullets from the machine gun hit me." Noah answered seriously.

Alice was surprised by the serious response she turned to look at Kira.

"I might be able to, I never thought about it before," Kira answer unsurely.

"How are you both even human?"

Kira rolled her eyes, "Says the girl with the power to see into the future."

"Oh right," Alice remembered about it, since she hadn't unlocked her future sight she would forget she had it.

"I guess we're all kind of special." Alice laughed still being carried by Noah.
