Harbinger Of Chaos [1]

Ren looked at Xena with a face which read 'are you serious?'

"You really thinking about allowing me to use my 2nd Exo Power, you do realize it's destructive power is far above my 'Void' Exo Power? I only have around 70-85% control over my Chaos Exo Power, compared to my 90-99% control over my Void Exo Power."

Xena smiled," The last data we got from you, a few weeks ago said that you now have around 85-93% control over it, don't worry. That's more than enough for you to be freely allowed to use it."

The teenager raised an eyebrow at the response. " How is that possible?! You know it far better than me, how hard it is to raise the control to that percentage! I spent 2 years, 2 years with my uncle, from the age of 4 to 6, mastering my Void Exo Particles, and the next four years I spent mastering my Chaos Exo Particles, which still was a lower mastery than that of my Void Exo Particles."

Xena chuckled," Yeah, it was really unbelievable. That's why I said they 'accepted it'. When I saw your data in the lab, I was shocked beyond any other time. Your Exo was reacting to the Chaos Exo Particles. It was as if they wanted to mix up together. That's a sign the mastery has reached over 85%, and potentially over 90%."

She continued after receiving a look of surprise on Ren's face," Which could only be explained by one thing, your Exo decided that it could no longer afford to fight your Chaos Exo Particles."

Exo Powers were powerful. Exo itself was not conscious of what it did, however sometimes, it could think. Especially when one had more than one Exo Power, which was an extremely rare occasion.

Ren had more than one Exo Power, usually his Void Exo Particles would gnash in hatred towards the Chaos Exo Particles. It was impossible to hold both of them in his Exo Source. His Exo Core also had trouble with creating both of them at the same time, so he usually relied on his Void Exo Particles.

Why? You may ask.

That's easily answered by one fact. Ren had a far higher mastery of his Void Exo Particles, compared to his Chaos Exo Particles. When Ren was 12, he had gotten cocky, after 4 years of mastering his Chaos Exo Particles, he decided to test it in a Training Ground.

The ending was horrible. He had lost control over it, and the entire base he had been in was blown to nothing by his powers. He had killed. Innocents. The worst part was that he could not even affect it.

It was an event which had influenced Ren's change in personality. As a cost of his stupid actions, Laura and Albion had been injured, heavily wounded, god knew how they had survived. Ren, at the same day swore an oath.

One which he still honored to this day. No one knew what the oath said. They only knew that he would never break it.

"This still makes no sense… Why'd they only react to each other right now! Why only forget to not fight each other right now…" Ren gnashed his teeth. This was very confusing. It made no sense at all!

"That can be also explained, because of what happened, I decided to tell your uncle to ask The Abyss Lord, one of the Ten Seats, to check what had happened to you. Because of their old relationship, he agreed to check what caused this reaction."

Ren's eyes widened in shock. The Abyss Lord was a very cold person, he only had few friends, which included his dead parents and his uncle. He was one of the Ten Seats, a council made only of SS Rank Slayers.

When Ren said he was weaker than his uncle at max strength, he only used his Void Exo Particles. Although he had yet to get used to his Chaos ones, he bet that with it, he could potentially beat his uncle.

His Chaos Exo Particles mixed with His Void Exo Particles were terrifying. If his Chaos Exo (Instead of Exo Particles, I'm going to use Exo for a short way) could destroy a base the size of a mountain in a moment, what could the two of his Exo Powers together do?

Xena chuckled," Anyway, we going home or nah? I'm pretty sure your teammates are worried about you. What about your little girlfriend… I bet she is very worried about you… I mean she loves you…"

She teased him, but did not get much of a reaction," I am not bothered by your teasing, Aunt Xena. I know she loves me, and if possible I'd like to return the feelings to her too, but it's not a feeling I share with her. Unfortunately, I do not love her." She only got an emotionless response by Ren.

He did not deserve to love anyone. Not after all these things he did. He had not lost himself to fury only once. It had happened several times. Each time… each time he had killed people. He could not forgive himself about it.

He carried the scent of a killer.

"Also, sure let's go, can you drop me off at the Celestial Academy. If you don't, Olsen will probably get annoyed at the fact I am somewhere without his notice. He probably won't like this." Ren said.

At the mention of the principal of the Celestial Academy, Xena's eyes slightly closed. " Be careful of him, Ren. He is using a fake name. He is a very powerful person. I don't know all the details, but I would advise against becoming an enemy of his."

" I also know that he once threatened to kill a S Rank Slayer, for entering his Academy without permission. He even used his Exo Particles to show his power into the Slayer, making him fear him."

Ren's face got serious. Intimidation of that level was extremely rare, and probably neared his uncle's level, if not surpassing it. He was probably going to lose a fight with Olsen, with his current power of course.

He was sure he could win if he mastered his 2nd Exo Power.

"Let's go." Ren grinned.

Despite a few problems, this was a good day for him.

Laura growled. Her 'love' meter showed that Ren was 17932 meters away from her. That was a dangerous distance. She was feeling very worried. While she knew how strong he was, it did not matter here.

Alice chuckled," He beat my ass before. Although I'm not really a Slayer, I can be considered a weak one, and I still can walk around the town without a worry about getting kidnapped, what about him, who is way stronger?"

Albion nodded," Ren was always a bit rash, don't you remember it Laura… Ya remember that one time when he decided to rush into the bandit den, and literally fought all of them all alone?" He said.

Laura sighed," I do know how strong he is Albion. I know him for the same amount of time as you do… It's just that as you said he is rash… what if he gets tricked into a trap while getting cocky?"

Alex groaned lowly," He is very smart… I mean he literally found a F Rank Hollow and defeated it easily… Rather I mean destroyed it completely! And he managed our team for all the time in the exam, and still is our team leader."

"You missed me that much? Awww" Ren's voice could be heard, and his team's eyes brightened. "Ren!" Laura shouted as he ran towards Ren to embrace him in a hug.

It took several hours for his team to calm down, Ren wanted to sleep. By the time he had returned to his team's dorm room it was pretty late, and he was very exhausted after so many conversations.

However, Ren could not sleep. He felt something he had forgotten ages ago, fear. What if he lost control again? Would he this time… kill his own friends? The ones who had supported him even through those dark times?

He somehow managed to hide the truth from them, but how long would it last? How would they react if they knew he would have to use his 'chaos' exo if he wanted to fight his enemies? The ones who had killed his parents….

HE would take revenge, HE would make sure of it, as his eyes closed, falling asleep, he clenched his fists.

The future was promising.

"You are hiding something." Albion said with a glare which promised pain if he lied. Ren sighed. Was he really that bad at lying to his friends?

"I know you meet Lady Xena, I asked my sources, and they told me you called her yesterday, asking her to come pick you up from there." Albion growled," And you never call her unless it is very serious."

Ren's emotionless face flashed with a hint of panic, before sighing again. "Okay, Albion. I'll tell you the truth. But please do not tell Laura." He said with a tone of desperation. The last thing he needed was her hating her.

"Xena told me something." Ren started., Albion frowned,"Told you what?","Shush, I'll tell you right now."

Ren rolled his eyes.

"Anyway, she told me that my Chaos Exo Particles have reached around 90% mastery, meaning it's not that dangerous to use it anymore, seems the Abyss Lord Of The Ten Seats also choose me as the person to inherit his name…"

Albion was silent. " That's a rather interesting way to shorten so much information." He said as he took a large breath," So you don't want me to tell Laura because you are scared she'll call you a monster for trying to use the power which killed everyone in that place huh." He said, first taking another breath, before laughing loudly.

"Man, you really are very stupid aren't ya?" He said, still laughing, even wiping a few tears which had formed around his eyes. Ren turned red for a second, and was very confused at the reaction he had gotten from Albion.

"Man, I can't believe you don't even trust your 'best' friend with this! I am really disappointed in you!" Albion pouted as he punched him 'playfully' in his arm. " That hurt!" Ren said as he slowly came to understand what was happening.

Albion suddenly stopped laughing.

"Laura… Y'know… she loves you. She won't mind it. You dumbass."

He grinned," You made her worry."

"Idiot!"
