The Hell’s a Velp?

"Hey Steven, this might seem like a dumb question but what's your sisters name? I don't think you've told me." I asked.

"You're right I haven't, her name's Emma. Sorry that I haven't told you." Said Steven giving me an embarrassed smile.

I gave him a smile and looked back ahead of me. As we continued walking I noticed the entrance to the town, as we walked closer we saw two men standing there looking at us.

"Newcomers? Haven't seen people like you in years, You're lucky Alice is with you or else you'd probably have died by now." Said one of the men.

Alice gave them a glare that seemed to terrify both guards. Both guards looked at each other until clearing their throats and moving out of our way.

As we walked by something came to mind, 'why were those people so scared of Alice?' I thought to myself. We continued walking until we were right in front of a big building.

"This is it guys, we'll be staying here for the night. Sorry if the rooms aren't high quality, this isn't exactly a 'wealthy' area." Said Alice.

I opened the door not expecting anything but was met with a group of people drinking booze and singing songs.

"This place is... lively. I hope we can get some sleep staying here." I said, with a worried expression. Alice gave off a small laugh and walked up to one of the people behind the counter.

Before I could get closer I felt something like my lower half. I turned around to see what it was and saw Fang looking at me pointing to a sign outside.

"John, I don't mean to be a bother but this place doesn't allow animals. Do you think we could find somewhere else to stay?" Asked Fang.

I looked at him for a moment and turned around to look back at the insides of the inn. I sighed and shrugged.

"Yeah, to be honest I don't want to stay in a place like that. I probably won't get enough sleep in there anyway." I said.

I tabbed Steven on the shoulder and told him that I was going to look for a new place to stay. Steven, as well as Emma both followed me and Fang to look for a new spot, leaving Alice alone in the inn.

As we walked through the town we saw multiple shops, all specializing in different subjects. After a few minutes of walking we all realized that we had walked in a complete circle.

"I guess I can go ask to see if the people working at the counter can make a special exception this time." I said. I let out a sigh and entered the building once more.

The room looked exactly the same it did last time, except Thai time Alice was there next to everyone drinking booze alongside with them. I rolled my eyes and walked up to the counter.

"So me and a couple of friends need a place to stay. But one of the people I'm traveling with is a pet of sorts, I'm willing to pay extra if you'll let him stay." I said, putting my money pouch on the counter.

"I'll allow it, but it'll cost you an extra two hundred velp. Do we have a deal young man?" Asked the person. I gave her a funny expression for a moment.

"The hell's a velp?
