Chapter 20

Inside the large and luxurious room, Willbert is seating behind the wide table, A pile of papers on each side, his head is lowered while signing the report his hand stop suddenly when he heard a knock,

Knock.. knock..

he raised his head and look at the direction of the door, he saw his secretary Eric entering the room first and behind him the guard.

"Your grace"

the guard and his assistant eric bowed their head at the same time and greet him respectfully

"Hhm.. what is the matter?" Willbert asked while furrowing his thick black brows his voice was cold, all of his employees know that he don't like to disturb while working but seeing them knocking on his office door he is not petty and has a rougher idea that it is something important.

Eric who saw his master cold face hurriedly go to the main point.

"Your grace! Lady Dobrrieve is waiting outside and she is asking permission of audience .. your grace!"

"Lady Dobrrieve? You say?" Willbert asked, at first it did not sink in his mind 'lady who?' but after awhile he remember that the lady his assistant mentioned was his little beauty his furrowed brows before are now flat in place and his eyes shone in amusement.

"She's asking permission for audience?"

"Yes your grace, she is outside"

Willbert pondering for a moment, and look at Eric and the guard before ordering them to let the lady in.

"What are you planning little beauty?"

Not too long,

Willbert heard a knock, actually since his assistant left he stop what he's doing and wait for them to come, Willbert is looking at the door intently, and when its open the first thing he saw is the small creatures (sarey haha!) cover with a large black coat a big hood covering her little face, he watched her slowly removing the heavy hood on her head and his heart skipped a beat when he saw her lovely face, it is still the same what he remembered but what he really like is her eyes, it's like an open book he can see her different emotion on it.

Actually bethany is not small, compared to the other ladies she is taller, but compare to him she is small. Willbert did not move from his seat rather he leaned back and watch the lady walking to his direction before she stop in front of him,

"What do i owe this visit? My lady?" There is tinged of amusement on his voice

Poor Bethany did not notice a thing heard the duke question felt more nervous and scared, her palm clutching together are now sweating she know they she is being rude entering and walking infront of the duke without greeting him, she really did not forget her manners but because of being nervous she don't know if she should greet him first or walking, her head is already on mess. Looking at the duke appearance he is not angry by her lack of manners so she decided to hardened her heart and collect what strength she still have,

"I apologized for sudden visit your grace, i want to propose a business like proposal"

She really don't know how to open a conversation so she decided to tell her purpose of visit.

"And what is the business like proposal your talking about my lady, let's hear it"

Bethany look up and meet the pair of intense blue eyes…

her mind stop for a second and that she's staring at him for good one minute she only stop staring at the duke when she heard an awkward cough from the side, when she look at her side she saw the Duke assistant covering his mouth and planning to make another cough, Bethany realized what she just did and look at the man in front of her, seeing the small curve on the corner of the Duke lips, Realization struck on her afterwards she felt her face burned she felt so embarrassed!

'Oh lord, did i just stare at him for too long? But he has a beautiful eyes!'

Biting her lower lip she clutch hard at the hem of her coat and wish she could dig a hole and bury herself.!

While Bethany is fighting with her inner self Willbert was still sitting on his chair and watched the lady in great amusement And when he saw her face flushed and her ears turned red he felt an itch on his heart and urges to bite those little red ears.

'She's mine' deep down there's a small voice telling that the lady infront was his, but thinking thats it's only because he felt attracted to her he set it aside for now. Thinking of those little ears and plump red lips he is looking forward to the taste and to know how sweet it is. Now thinking about the proposal she is talking about he felt excited so he decided to ask her again.

"My lady let's hear your proposal"

Willbert stand from his seat and walk to the resting area where two sofa that large enough to fit two facing each other,

Bethany followed him and sat on a chair infront of him.

Bethany look at the duke were her blushed cheeks are now gone and her eyes shine in determination.

"Marry me, and i will birth you a child" she said directly without waiting for the duke answer she continued

"I will bear you a healthy child, i will not asked anything i just want yo…" Bethany stop what she's planning to say when she felt sudden coldness, she was surprised to see the duke's murderous eyes.

"Is that what your planing to propose?"

"Your grace! Listen to me.."

"ENOUGH!!"

Bethany was so scared by the duke thunderous voice, she don't know but the air inside is suffocating she still want to reason out but she can't her whole body trembling in fear.

"I don't think i can accommodate you Lady Dobbrieve… Eric! Send the lady out!" Willbert stand up from his seat and look down at the lady sitting with obviously trembling before he left the room.
