Chapter 19

A week has pass from the year end ball celebration, during this day Bethany stayed in her room, pondering and analyzing her vision.

The Duke of West, she needs him!

The vision she had last week was not the first visions she had from the duke, she remembered last year summer its was only a very quick vision, at that time she don't know what is the duke appearance so when she saw the two man conversing intently inside the large luxurious office, she set it aside and later on she forgot about it, but during this two days she concentrate and think really hard how to save his brother, if she is correct the incident that will happen to her brother will be next couple of years from now, she recalled the man on her vision and also her brother said 'emperor Michael' but right now the emperor Michael that they are talking about is still a crown prince, and the reason why they want to kill her brother was because of their princess?

"What i need now, is to convince the duke to strengthen the security in the west border, and to stop the barbarians to entering and putting a spies in territory, but i still don't have any idea who the leader is" Bethany was talking to her self while writing the key points to her small notebook. She still don't know what will exactly gonna happen, but right now the only choice she had is to talk and convince the Duke.

Bethany ring the bell and Andy enter the room

"Miss"

"Andy….." she looked at her maid intently

Andy who feel her miss gaze felt something is wrong?

"Miss?" Andy called out again

"Andy, i need your help, please"

The maid feel that this is a serious matter so she nod her head a little, seeing this bethany continue to tell her plan

"Can you please help me to prepare a carriage in secret, i want to meet the duke"

"The du-duke?!?, My miss what for?"

"I will explain it to you later, but please andy"

Andy was weighing the pros and cons, she stare at her miss face, and her eyes who look like begging, that look tug her heart and without a choice she agreed

"When do you want to go out miss?" Andy asked

"As soon as possible" Bethany answer her back, determine showing to her face

"Noted miss, i will arrange it now" after saying this, the maid walked out the room.

Not long the maid came back on her right arm, she carried the black thick coat,

"Miss, if you want to go outside and meet the duke, please wear this"

the maid handed the thick coat to Bethany, the maid helped her to put the coat and pull up the hood, it cover her whole head. Seeing this Andy felt satisfied they walk out the room, Andy lead Bethany to the back door, from the dirty kitchen where the simple brown carriage are waiting

"I just rent this carriage miss, the coachman did not know that miss will be inside as well, i only told him i will deliver something to the duke"

"Hm" Bethany only gave a simple remark.

They enter the carriage, andy tapped the side wall, and the carriage start moving.

Bethany's mind was fully occupied that she did not realize they are near the mansion where the duke was currently staying, when they reach the main gate, a guard stopped them.

"Who are you? Don't you know that this is the Duke of West Mansion?"

The small window open, and Bethany pull down the hood of the coat, showing her beautiful face, right now her heart beat so hard, her hand are sweating due to her nervousness but still she bravely tell to the guard "i come here to meet the duke"

The guard was astonished seeing a beautiful lady, but its only a second the guard snapped back

"Young Lady, do you have any appointment to the duke?" The guard ask her softly

"No, i don't have"

"Apologies, young Lady but the duke are not meeting anyone without an appointment"

"I don't have an appointment, but sir, can you please tell to the duke that I want to meet him?"

"Im sorry young Lady, I'm just following what the Duke instructions"

"Alright if you don't want me to enter, i will just wait here outside" Bethany sat back and thinking how she can meet the duke,

One hour…..

Two hours...

Three… Four hours…..

Seeing this the guard look at the open window of the carriage, the young lady sat inside while staring at the mansions gate, her amber eyes looked pitiful the guard don't know but he start walking towards the carriage.

"Young Lady, what is your name again?"

Bethany saw the guard walking towards her, her eyes lit up! When the guard asked her again she answer happily "i am Bethany Dobrrieve,"

The guard did not attend the year end celebration and did not know about the Dobrrieve as he grew up from the west, he was only a reliever thats why he is here in the capital, hearing the Lady's name, he turned around and walked inside the mansion, he decided to ask the Duke if he wants to meet the young lady or not, while he is walking in the corridor that lead to the Duke study, he met the duke secretary

"Lord Eric"

"Why are you here? And not on your post? Is there something amiss?"

"No Lord, there is a young lady waiting outside, she said she wants to meet the duke, i did not allow her to enter because she doesn't have appointment from the duke."

Eric frowned and asked the guard "what is the lady's name?"

"She said her name was Lady Bethany dobrrieve"

Eric was surprised! After the celebration the duke order him to find something about Lady Bethany, thinking about how the duke fancy the lady, but thing he found about the lady was only simple, now the lady is here, he will not need to investigate Lady Dobrrieve anymore, he will jut let the two people meet! And job done!
