Pickled Vegetables in Jar
The Translation is great and updates is meh since it's not getting translated the story is alright but also kind of all over the place.... a medieval fishing village 2 weeks of sailing away from a modern city... main ability of mc is his ship, decides to join the secret service or whatever and become an agent. with this development he will never use his ship, since he is hiding his ability... kind of weird since the evolving ship is the main draw of the story. honestly was hoping for some fantasy adventures at sea, not gunfights vs monsters...... well it's hard to say with only 40 chapters but it's a bit dissapointing.
I really liked this novel so far. It has a really good main character who doesn‘t seem too overpowered making him easy to relate to. The novel also offers this really nice mystical world which really remindes me of lovecraft and his works. And as a fan of e few good boardgames and stories in this world of his can appreciate that very much. But i have to say it was a little bit confusing at first what exactly those entities are. Additionally this modern setting is good implemented and is something different to the stuff usually read. (cultivation ...) Except for that. I loved it too because i really like ships and am looking forward to how his vessel develops. And with the additional plot on land it really doesn‘t get too monotone. which i have to criticise in some other novels, making the story seem richer and the world lager. Even if the dreams annoyed me a bit they do seem important and i am looking forward to the explanation for those dreams. I really do hope it gets more chapters soon.
So, one issue, it is supernatural instead of eldrich. Eldritch is a group of supernatural creatures that are old, very old, dark, dangerous, and weird. They sew confusion, chaos, and their own brand of fun. While this world is full of supernatural creatures, ghosts are supernatural, demons are supernatural, creatures above the line of normal in a world are supernatural. Eldritch is Cthulu and his friends/enemies.=-=, Eldritch is intervening on laws of the world itself, to become strange, but the supernatural can be explained.
It is a refreshing idea and I like that the Mc is not a hero of light or something and he has a Witch bloodline. The pacing and progression of world building has been excellent so far. But i think it would ahi ed more if there it were out in 60 chapters. I hope this gets selected since the others are too generic and typical
I think this story is good. If I can say a weakness for this novel, it is its world background. I don't know if the author plan to reveal it bit by bit or not, but until now, I still don't know much about this novel's world. Although I can assumed that the country is the same as our Earth, even its name. The author only said that its somewhere in Europe. Although it did mention the town/city's name, not that I know where that is, i'm not European.
