Chapter Two

The present day is March 23th, and I turn 15 in a month. I'm not at all looking forward to it, my dad's new girlfriend said she's planning a party for me but won't tell me any details.

Most likely meaning that this party is gonna suck and I'll be embarrassed for the rest of my life.

"Rei!" my father yelled from the living room. "Coming!" I yelled back as I left my room, I was in the middle of writing an essay for one of my classes but it could wait.

I ran down the stairs as fast as I could and found my dad standing in front of the couch waiting for my arrival. "Melanie is going to be here soon so I need you to clean your room" he said sitting back down on the couch reaching for the remote.

"Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't realize everyone would be hanging out in my room all night, guess I'll go clean it then" I said as I started to walk away from him, he sat in disbelief still questioning what I had just said to him.

Eventually, I got a text from my dad saying "You know, I guess you're right, but you still need to clean your room, it's disgusting in there" I replied with some dry text like "ok" or something.

I was sitting in my room debating whether or not I should clean my room, and I kinda did, it was more like, moving piles, putting all the clothes in my laundry basket, and plopping down on my bed waiting for my nightmare of a life to end.

I wouldn't say I'm suicidal, but, definitely not pro-life. Actually, I don't want to die, all I want, is a fresh start at life, I wanna be able to fix all the messes that were made the day if my birth. I felt guilty, everyday after my dad told me what happened to her, I felt that it was my fault that she died, and I never even got to know her.

It pissed me off even more knowing dad moved on so fast and started dating people a year after the death, nothing serious, but going on dates a couple times a week trying to find a lover.

He recently found someone about two weeks ago. Personally, I don't like her, mainly because she has this horrible little dog the brings EVERYWHERE. She shoves the thing in her purse like it's her lipstick and goes on with her day.
