Chapter 39
Carly's P.O.V
"Password."
"We are the howlers," I said and the door slit slid open revealing a pair of purple eyes looking straight at us. Seeing as it is me the girl behind the door immediately opened it for us.
"Carly!!!!!" Violet shrieked and jumped on me hugging me tightly and I did the same.
"It has been ages since you've joined us for any meetings, where have you been?!" Violet scolded me and I could only quietly accept my fate of getting scolded, it has indeed been ages since I've attended a howlers meeting with the rest of the girls.
"Sorry, school has been kind of overwhelming these days." I smiled sheepishly.
"Gosh, I have no idea why would the alpha make you study in a school with humans, you should attend the private Kingston prep high, it is run by the werewolf committee." Violet pouted and I sighed inwardly, not this again, this has to be the gazillion time Violet has told me about joining KPH but forget her, even if dad wanted me to I simply wouldn't agree to it.
I shrugged my shoulders and finally Violet let go of me, she seems to finally realize that Emily is behind me, her eyes darkened and she stood in a protective stance as if ready to attack. Emily seemed to be threatened so she was on high alert, her hands were hovering over her right boot as if ready to take whatever she has in her boot out to retaliate. "Relax, Em is my friend."
"Who is she, is she a human?" Violet said with a look of distaste, there was a look of hatred burning in her eyes as though she wanted to murder Emily, and if looks could kill I believe Emily would be dead by now.
"So what if I am," Emily asked in a dangerously low and threatening tone while she was now in a fighting stance while Violet growled at her when she heard what Emily said.
"Guys, can you both try not to kill each other? Violet, Emily is our future luna please respect her." I was frustrated at the current situation, Alvin entrusted Em in my hands, I have to ensure her safety and not even a single strand of hair on her can be hurt or Alvin will kill me for it.
"WHAT?! How can a low life like her be our future luna?!" Violet was now full on sneering and growling ready to let her wolf out.
"I am Alvin's mate so what are you going to do about it." Emily was now provoking Violet and unfortunately Violet isn't exactly a person with high EQ, with that she went crazy and attacked, she charged at Emily and tried going for her throat which is a critical point. Emily wasn't one to back down either, she immediately got a dagger out of her boots and parried Violet's attempt, as Emily is using a dagger in her attempt of blocking the attack her hand was being hit backwards, therefore, the dagger in her hand swung upwards and it caused a deep slice on Violet's left side of her face.
"AH, MY FACE!" Violet screeched which it really unpleasant as she has quite a sharp voice. Violet was about to launch another attack at Emily again but I jumped in between them to block the attack.
"STOP, VIOLET STOP!" I was furious now.
"GET AWAY CARLY YOU KNOW WHAT THE HUMANS DID TO MY PARENTS!"
"Yes but Em isn't like those humans, forget it, I can tell that you aren't very welcoming so we are going to just make a move now." I gritted my teeth and forced the words out, afterward, I grabbed onto Emily's free hands without the dagger and dragged her towards the direction we came from earlier.
"Em let go." Emily did not continue on with the fight and left it as it is and followed me. Throughout the walk back it was total silence, I was walking and mind linking Ricky about what just happened while Emily was cleaning blood off her dagger as if it is some precious treasure of hers and after it is sparkly clean the way she wants it so she slides it back into her boots keeping it hidden.
After walking for what felt like ages we've finally reached the pack house and I told Emily to go wash up first before meeting me in the living area. I went to find Ricky first and let off some steam before I explode from anger, how dare Violet act that way, I know she isn't exactly the nicest person in the pack but how dare she insult our future luna and my friend. Even if human hunters did indeed kill her parents but Emily is different she should have at least gave her a chance. My father classified the murder as hunter attacks but no one knows what exactly happened, till this day it is a taboo topic in our pack to talk about those murder cases. I was still young at that time so I did not really understand what was going on.
"Babe I've missed you." Ricky hugged me and carried me inside after opening the door of his room for me.
"I missed you too, I am just so pissed off at Violet right now, normally she can be a bitch but she literally just evolved earlier on to mega bitchy bitch," I complained.
